Dear Ted & GM George McPhee,

Bruce Boudreau, the current interim Head Coach of the Washington Capitals, deserves to have the interim tag taken away and he needs to be made the Head Coach fulltime. this guy has breathed new life into the Caps players many of whom had obviously tuned out Hanlon. He deserves this shot for two reasons:

 1. According to several sources, Boudreau's teams have historically had strong power plays. The Capitals scored four man-up goals in his first two games, and the unit has had much more zip than it did under Hanlon. Boudreau said the solution could be as simple as having the players hear the same message from a different messenger: "Maybe with a different voice, they're doing it. Different messenger. We haven't tweaked a lot."
 
2. With Hanlon gone, so go the excuses. It's on the players now to turn this season around, no matter what magic Boudreau might bring to the bench. Alexander Ovechkin said it best: "It's all about us. Nobody can help us," he said. "Glen was a great coach, great guy. We've just talked to each other, and [said] we could be next. We're getting closer together, playing for each other and just trying to have fun."

The guy is also a virtual quote machine and so much better to listen to than Hanlon. Also, did you know he was in the Paul Newman flick 'Slap Shot'? One of the greatest hockey movies next to 'Miracle'. He has also invigorated this team and should be the permanent guy to lead us in the near term.

Next, lock up Ovie and Alexander Semin to long term deals. These guys will be restricted free agents after the season. Ovie LOVES Montreal. Do we really want two of the better players that have come along in many years for the Caps to leave? Especially the best player in the National Hockey League (Ovechkin...sorry Pens fans...). I don't think so.

These moves would go a long way to increasing the fan base. I hope you get it done...
