People are calling Bobby Petrino things like traitor all the time. And it is completely warranted.
Yesterday at church, I heard a story about him that I found to be very interesting. Most people already know that the players despised him, and I found out a big reason why.
A man who goes to my church is a team doctor for the Falcons. Every Sunday that they had a home game in Atlanta, the team and the entire staff would meat at their practice complex in Flowery Branch. Once everyone got there, they would get on busses and travel down to the Georgia Dome. Now here is where the trouble happened.
Once the players got onto the bus, they would have to sit in there assigned seat. That may not sound that bad, but they were not aloud to move out of there seat. They weren't even aloud to stand up in there seat. At least they could talk to eachother for entertainment, right? Wrong. The players were not allowed to say one word on the entire bus ride, which could take up to an hour on some occasions. If they were caught speaking, they would be yelled at and embarassed in front of their teammates.
These players are grown men, and he treated them like little children. Imagine how he would treat college kids.
Bobby Petrino is a despicable man, and I know that I would never want my child playing for him. His hiring may drop the Arkansas program back into the depths of the SEC West.
