I Started this group back at the end of October to gather feedback on the topic of (Mike Shanahan) and his performance.  A couple of months later and the majority of football fans believe that I'm being too harsh on a good coach who has had a couple of bad breaks the last two years.  I need to ask one last question from "Fannation",  Should I "Disband"/Eliminate the group?  I will go with the majority's opinion and do accordingly.  I'm interested in the opinions of "(NFL) football fans" and specifically "(Denver Bronco) Fans".  Thanks, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Eliminate!

I'm on the fence with this one. While I feel that Shanahan is a quality coach, I also think it may be time for a change in Denver.

Eliminate.-Im a Bronco fan.

From the biggest Broncos fan you will find, Get rid of it, and then revisit the idea this time next year.

You see this is only his 2nd losing season EVER!!! Trust me Shanny will get this team back on track and fast.

keep it. disregard me, for i am a bronco hater. but hey. fire him

December 25, 2007  07:15 PM ET

I'm with Hawkeye on this one: Shanahan's made questionable decisions this year, but I don't know if he'll get fired.
Hang on to it, at least to the off-season (or the draft, whichever comes first). After that, use your judgment.

DEN should fire the Defence cordnator.

say BYE BYE!

bye is right

December 26, 2007  02:40 PM ET

keep it, its your opinion and if people don't agree they can leave the group. not a ponies fan.

December 26, 2007  03:28 PM ET

Please keep it. As a major Bronco fan, I think Mike's time has come. He's had a good run but it's apparent he's no longer able to get it done. Firing coaches for his ineptness is ludicrous and getting old....

Keep the group...it is good to have the "genius" critiqued! Here are my opinions. FIRE Mike Shanahan the "GM", "personnel guy" or what ever you want to call him. He tries to be too smart and out smart all the other league talent evaluators and has far too often been WRONG. He has had multiple horrible draft years the last year or two the exception I think; however it is a bit early to judge. As for the coach...I'm on the fence. If he still has the desire to be the best than keep him but I'm not sure he isn't burned out. The problem is whom do you replace him with?

KEEP THE GROUP

December 27, 2007  08:48 AM ET

Get rid of it.

Shanny IS NOT THE GM!

Big Bronco Fan - Keep the site. It is time for Shanahan to go. I hate the scripted plays. Some coaches have the ability to change things when they are down, shake up the offensive strategy. The guy has no ability to adapt. Their is not a more stubborn coach in the NFL. The guy lives by the creed that the run has to exist in order to open up the passing game and win. Sometimes though, you need to attack with the passing game in order to open a running game. Shanahan has no ability to see outside of his stubborn viewpoint though and will run a RB against a brick wall every play of the game to try and force his strategy.

Their is not a more predictive offense or worse red zone team than the one Shanahan has concocted. What should we do on first down? Oh that's right, we only have one first down play, the off tackle run. Wait, I'm wrong, occasionaly it us just right up the gut. I swear the guy has got to be trying not to get TD's in the redzone. The broncos can a run a beautiful offense all the way down the field, but once in the red zone, Shanahan puts not trust in his QB. He will try a run up the middle at least two of three redzone plays and totally abandons the plays that work in the redzone like bootlegs and playactions. Let the QB rollout for crying out loud.

Lets face it, Shanahan had a great thing during those superbowl years. He had Elway calling his plays for him and Davis making the run work. Rod Smith stated that the play that was called in was rarely the play Elway ran. We can only hope Cutler begins calling more audibles so that we won't have to suffer through more of the Shanahan predictability and poor red zone choices. The so called genius is living off of borrowed life from the superbowl era. As a Bronco fan, nothing pains me more than to agree with a Raiders decision, but they had it right when they fired Shanahan.
