Big ups to Coach Shannon, and key members of their Staff. I see going 5-7 has allowed them to hit the recruiting trail early, and lock up some formidable talent for the upcoming years. At the rate hes going, The U.S. Army is about to have some stiff competition! Not to dis Larry Coker or anything, but this is the type of recruiting they've needed for years. Coach Shannon knows the U and he knows that he can't afford to lose another year on the recruiting trail. This program is behind maybe off by like 3-5 yrs as far as seriously being back up in the upper echelon of the college football world. But I believe in coach Shannon and I believe in the recruits that he has coming in. These guys seem like they want to be at Miami, not live off the reputation, and believe me a few more whippings like Lsu& Virginia their will be no reputation. The Coker regime was Butch Davis built and the players were built like that but when they soon trickled out we are left at 5-7. The football team has been stripped of its Identity on both sides of the ball. Going 5-7 is basically not his fault and now that hes been on fire recruiting i think he knew the talent leftover from the last regime was not enough, so he said lets beat Texas A&M and win over some quarterbacks, and lets beat Florida St. in their backyard, and hit the recruiting trail early on a mission to turn this thing around. You can tell he is really passionate about the U and that he is really trying to reestablish his house and put things in order. To the players that have committed I think they made the right choice. To the ones who havent I would say TAKE A SHOT WITH THIS GUY HE IS REAL! Hes had to endure the lost of 2 of his player in a years time. It will not happen on his watch. The deaths of Brian Pata & Sean Taylor will be used to deter any caring parents decision to allow their child to attend UM. But pain is REAL and PAIN is Love, and it him will make him stronger and more connected to his own recruits so that this doesnt happen anymore in the future!
