When are people just going to recognize the suns for what they are. This season for phoenix has played out much like their previous two, Steve Nash has had another incredible season, an MVP season in my mind, and has led his team to another sterling record.  The Suns continue to play at their trademark frenetic pace, and it continues to be working very well for them...in the regular season. I realize that the Spurs-Suns series has just begun, and i realize the suns are certainly a better team now than they were a few years ago, but they are still going to lose this series.

The Spurs hang their hat on defense, they go into every single game determined to shut you down. Everything else that they do on that court stems from their commitment to a defensive mind set.  The Suns on the other hand go into each game with the philosophy of running the other team out of the gym, and ill admit, its fun to watch, its fun to play, and its been great for them, IN THE REGULAR SEASON.

Yes the Suns have upgraded their roster, and yes the Spurs have gotten older, but neither teams philosophy has changed at all, and that is precisely why the spurs will once again win this series.  I just cant understand why people havent realized it, to win in the playoffs you need to play defense and you need to get rebounds, neither of which the Suns are exactly known for.  I'll admit I'm a little biased, okay im very biased, but I think what im saying makes logical sense.  If your team plays all year pedal to the metal every single night with a limited rotation, their going to be fatigued come playoff time.  The Spurs on the other hand have been prepping all year for this, now their playing at their peak.

This series will go just like it went two years ago, the spurs will once again show that their "boring" and "plodding" style will beat Phoenix in five games, maybe six this time around, and players like the "soft" Tim Duncan will show why their 3 time finals MVPs.

And yet when next season rolls around and Phoenix wins 60+ running and gunning, all the experts will pick them, yet again, and then theyll go and lose to a like minded team like San Antonio or Dallas, or if their lucky, theyll get to the finals and lose to Detroit.

All the respect in the world for Phoenix but really, when you get right down to it, offense sells tickets, defense wins championships and i think the Spurs know a little bit more than the suns on the subject of rings.
