02:22 PM ET 05.07 | Sure, these are great days for those who love to see the biggest kids in the yard falling on their face. An amazing start by A-Rod has been over shadowed by an atrocious start by the team as a whole, but not really. The Yanks are one game below .500 and 5.5 games out with 6 games against the Sox over the next 4 weeks. They have Pettite, Mussina, Wang and Rivera finally pitching well. Which in turn makes the bull pen more effective, being called upon less frequently. The ship will right itself and when Roger Clemens and Phil Hughes join the club in early june, the Yankees will either be within stricking distance or be in first place. The Rocket is not being brought in as some kind of a savior, he's being brought in because he can provide stability. He won't have a sub 3 ERA, it will probably be closer to 4, but as long as he can do that every 5th day, he'll be worth the money and very key to Yankee success. How can he be worth all that money? The effect he will have on Phil Hughes and as many other young pitchers he can be around is immeasurable.
