What more could one ask for in an evening of television sanctioned violence than to be able to watch the New England Patriots play in New York against the Giants, trying to make history and set all sorts of records, in the same night that Georges St. Pierre tries to knock the smugness off the mug of Matt Hughes for the interim Welterweight UFC Title? I dunno, how about we finally get to see Chuck Liddell gets his butt kicked by Wanderlei Silva when two of the best fighters from UFC and PRIDE "Get It On!"
Yep, I'll take all of it, please, and thank you.
Now, I actually like Chick Chuck, but I have to go by what I saw the last time he fought, when he basically spent most of his fight with Kieth Jardine trying to avoid what anyone could comfortably call a fight. Liddell came out looking like a lady and Jardine won. Rightly so, because Liddell looked like he wanted nothing to do with the whole thing once he realized that his wide punches were not going to be enough to take Jardine down. If he fights like that tonight, he will be utterly destroyed by the Brazilian Silva.
Hughes thought he'd get the best of GSP by picking him to fight with just four weeks to prepare when Matt Serra had to cancel due to an injury. Unbeknownst to Hughes, St. Pierre had been training like mad in anticipation of trying out for the Canadian olympic wrestling team, and could barely believe his luck when Serra had to cancel and he got the call. This is the best possible situation for GSP, as he can now go in and beat down his former idol Hughes, again, and then take revenge on Serra in his next fight.
As for the Patriots? They will be resting some players with injuries and the G-men could potentially take advantage of a couple of relatively new faces on the offensive line. We all know what the Giants pass rush can do if given the chance and they will certainly be up for giving their best to become the only team to stop the Pats this year. Of course, that just might mean that Tom Brady and Randy Moss stay in the game longer to further solidify any records they set tonight.
The Yardstick for the Pats at Giants game at TheFanYard.com favors the Patriots by 12 points, just a couple hours before kick off.
Enjoy the game and the fights, everyone. I know I will!

First off we have seen what the best of Pride has had to offer against the UFC. I will take Chuck based on those performances and I believe he will be back to form since a third loss in a row could send him into retirement. St. P. and Hughes is a tossup, although I couldn't agree with you anymore that that smug look getting knocked off his face would make my day. WOW! The Patriots, how can you not sit back and admire the coolness of Brady to lead his team to victory after victory and superbowl win after super win. That being said I do believe the Cowboys will come through in a close superbowl win... Cowboys 31 Patriots 28.......
