Not sure if it is global warming but it sure does seam like more rain outs this year or just me?

Does NASCAR need to look harder at being able to race in wet weather?

I know I would not be happy to pay for a ticket and have to go home to work and miss race.

They sure will not get TV veiwership they would have got on Sunday so TV channels will not be happy.

I will be able to see beginning if it start but off to work.

I live in southcentral PA and we have double the normal rainfall this year. It goes in cycles, watch for droughts next year.

I think NASCAR should race on road courses in wet weather, but the ovals just wouldn't work. The cars are on the edge when they race on dry pavement, they would have to be going so slow to get around the ovals in the rain that it would be boring.

Won't be able to watch the race, I'm heading up to Wilkes-Barre, meeting with some freinds and then going to a Penguin exhibition game. Its a good time.

There have been what 3 races this year postponed because of rain? Considering the tour races all over the country that doesn't sound too bad to me.

I'll second Burgh that the cars just can't run on ovals with rain tires. Can you see the mess Talladega would be as drivers hydroplane all over the place. Road courses they can run rain tires at as they have proven a couple of time in the Nationwide series. And think of the strategy, when to come in for the tires, should you come in for tires, etc. They might be able to get away with the cars on rain tires at Martinsville and Richmond, but not Bristol the speeds needed to stay on the banking would probably be too much.

Burgh-Fan; When I drive up North from Fl. I get away from I-95 in Va.. I cut over to 81 and go right up to 84 so I get to see a lot of Pennsylvania. Go through Wilkes-Barre and I have to say that is some beautiful country in that state. I don't think I would use that road if I had to drive up in the winter though.

Used to help out someone who ran SCCA GT-1 a Pontiac Trans-AM back in the late 70's early 80's, .... Don / SCCA ran in the Rain on Road courses / Road America, Black-hawk Farms in Illinois .... and he Hated it ...

his description of running in the RAIN .... was like Following brunch of a Semi-Trucks on the Freeway ... cannot see S*** ....

Not a big fan of racing in the rain except for endurance racing.

I'm upset about missing the 3 races, but I think the only thing I can be upset about is Mother Nature. I just wish we had some of that rain!

And up in Milwaukee, its been dry ... just last week talk about only 1.25" of rain, where the avg. is 5" over the same time ...

get Jerry Jones to build a domed track or something.

Racing in the rain is barely racing.. its not far from racing while trying to conserve fuel..

I would say its trying to go as slow as you can and still be ahead of the other guy, instead of fast as you can.

I avoid I-95 like the plague when I go to Florida. Love 81 through Virginia, that's some pretty highway too.

There is some beautiful scenery up that way. I lived up there for 7 years and really liked it. The winters could be nasty and there is a stretch of I-81 that gets up on the ridge top that is a different world. The wind and snow can blow your car off the road if your not careful. The people up there are great too. Still have a lot of friends in the area.

Bad setup I think. He's been hanging the back all race.

Way to go NASCAR!!! Thank you for starting the Chase (which is an abmonation in itself) with a fuel mileage race at one of your most boring tracks.

Don't forget having to postpone until Monday!

Oh and watching online via Race Buddy not all that great either. 8 views, 1 of which is the end of pit road (stationary), 1 at the end of the back stretch (stationary), and 6 in cars, none of which you as the viewer really have control over. You get to see 5% of the race track and whatever drivers they choose for you to ride incar with.

since I have tv in office and no one around didnt bother me that its a monday, although I did get distracted by that dang work thing. HATE fuel mileage racing. yes, I know, its part of the strategy and every body need fuel to finish, but I can still hate it. its a free country, as they say.

Happy for smoke, I think he had it won, regardless.
