things to look forward to in the new year....

A new year. a time of change. (for better or for worse) Not everything changes however...here are some things you can count on for the new year.

Tiger Woods will be Tiger Woods

Yes, he'll be player of the year again.  Yes, he'll probably win at least one more major.  I look for him to have more consistency this year following an emotional roller-coaster last year.

Barry Bonds back in the spotlight...still

Sure barry will be back in the media loop with his upcoming court investigation coming, along with more HR record talk of asterisks and the like...but heres the thing, the record talk is irrelevent. A Rod has barry in his sights, and its only a matter of time, my guess being sooner than later...Rodriguez recently eclipsed 500 homers this past season, his 12th; Bonds had a mere 374 at the end of his 12th year.

College Football will continue it's tumultous downward spiral

There will be no playoff in the conceivable future, and as long as there isn't, the mess that is NCAA football will continue.  But is the paridy such an unwelcomed thing? (Its done wonders in recent years for the popularity of the NFL, in my opinion) Pageantry. Upsets. Rivalry Games. The reasons why we love college football are still here. God bless America.

Massachsetes continue being the center of the sports world?

This ones a little different. Im not a fan of the Boston teams (red sox, pats, celtics)...but i'm starting to wish that i was.  Red sox win the title. Pats finish regular season as first team to go 16-0. Celtics are 25-3 with an .893 winning percentage. Yikes. Can it get any better for Beantown? If only the Bruins could somehow acquire via trade Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin for a bag of pucks.

I'll be back with more in the coming days...Happy New Year!
