Sluggish Steelers Lose
Baltimore ran all over the Steelers yesterday.
Pittsburgh was defeated by the Ravens 21-27 yesterday in a game that ended up being completely meaningless, since San Diego beat the Raiders. The Steelers play Jacksonville at home in the Wild-Card Round of the playoffs on Saturday at 8. Without Ben, Willie, and Hines, the offense struggled yesterday under Charlie Batch. Still, Batch led a nice comeback that just fell short in the final minute. The disturbing part of yesterday was the defense. The only starter not playing was Troy Polamalu, yet the Ravens (who had previously lost 9 in a row) dominated the Steelers' front seven. The team also seemed to be lacking emotion and desire to win, which was disturbing considering Baltimore is a hated rival. Pittsburgh really needs to turn everything around very quickly to come away with a win over the Jaguars in less than a week. Overall, the Steelers' playoff chances don't look good. Even if they beat Jacksonville, they would most likely travel to New England. The way Pittsburgh played yesterday, nobody would even consider guaranteeing anything short of a Patriots blowout.![]()

Hey don't worry about it. Seattle was kind of the same way. We sat a lot of players, but I would have like to see our backups play better. Remember our two teams are the only two (in recent years) that always go to the playoffs. They know what they need to do. I am sure both teams just wanted yesterday to be over with.

I agree NORCAL - I saw at least 3 starters on the injured list that were'nt even hurt (Dion Branch and 2 offensive linemen)
I'm glad my fantasy football ended LAST week, because very few starters, who are in the playoffs, actually finished their games
