The 2007-2008 bowl season has had it's share of close bowl games, and while the recent games have not had the thrilling last-second wins, close games are indeed the norm. To date, 7 of 15 bowl games have been decided by 7 points or less with 5 decided by 3 points or less. Let's take a look at the December 28-30 games:
- Champs Sports Bowl - Boston College 34 - Michigan State 31 - BC led MSU by 10 late before a Michigan State TD cut the lead to 3 as Boston College held on for the "W."
- Texas Bowl - TCU 20 - Houston 13 - In the battle of Texas, TCU defeated the coach-less Cougars in Houston.
- Emerald Bowl - Oregon State 21 - Maryland 14 - In one for the sloppiest-played games I have ever seen, Oregon State somehow picked up the win as both teams looked terrible throughout.
- Meineke Car Care Bowl - Wake Forest 24 - Connecticut 10 - Jim Grobe's Wake Forest team held UConn in check en route to the win.
- AutoZone Liberty Bowl - Mississippi State 10 - UCF 3 - Mississippi State held UCF's running game in check and scores a 4th Quarter TD to get the win.
- Valero Alamo Bowl - Penn State 24 - Texas A&M 17 - Penn State trailed 14-0 early but held Texas A&M in check to pickup the Alamo Bowl victory.
- Independence Bowl - Alabama 30 - Colorado 24 - Alabama jumped out to an early lead and held on to defeat Colorado.
Today's Bowl games include the Armed Forces, Humanitarian, Sun, Musci City, Chick-fil-A and Insight Bowls. New Year's Day features the Outback, Cotton, Gator, Capitol One, Rose & Sugar Bowls.
