Racist? No just a fan | BigLar's Blog

Just to set the record straight, I don't hate Barry Bonds because he's black. I hate Barry Bonds because he's a cheating, lying, arsehole. I'm getting very sick of the predominantly white media (mainly ESPN) saying that we all hate Barry because he's black. We're not baseball fans who value integrity, hard work, and honest competition. No, that makes too much sense. It's more likely that we're all racists. If steroids are not the issue, and people only dislike Barry because he's black, then why is McGwire not in the hall? He's white. His statistics are cetainly sufficient. Is he not in the Hall because voting sportswriters are anti-red hair or anti-Cardinal? No, it's because they think he used steroids, based on far less evidence than has been accumulated against Bonds. Barry Bonds is a egotistical cheater. He is not a team player, as evidenced by fights with teammates and an attempt to blame a positive drug test on a teammate. He doesn't appear to care at all about baseball fans, as evidenced by his career-long refusal to talk to the media, which is most fans' best avenue to access players. And, in my personal opinion, he cheats. I believe that it is obvious from all the investigations, leaked testimonies, and frankly, just how HUGE he got, that he was on steroids. He couldn't fit one thigh into his Pirates jersey now! Barry Bonds setting the all time HR record is bad for baseball as an institution because he's a cheating jerk, not because he's black. And yes, there are still some racists in this country, but I truly believe that more people care about Bonds' character than his color. Remember, all you self-loathing white people at ESPN, the record we're trying to protect is held by Hank Aaron, who, as far as I can tell, is still black (and, incidentally, doesn't appear to be a Bonds fan either).

It funny how you hate Bonds for cheating, but feel sorrow when you mentioned McGuire not being inducted into the Hall of Fame. If you HATE Bonds, then you should also HATE McGuire for cheating as well. Look how big McGuire had gotten--least you forget....HYPOCRITE.

I feel no sorrow for Mark McGwire. Apparently my point was not broken down into enough 1 syllable words for you. The point was, if it's all about race, then why is Mac not in the Hall? Answer: IT'S NOT ABOUT RACE, IT'S ABOUT CHEATING!

Bonds is the biggest **** in sports today. He may even rival Ty Cobb (if we're talking historically).

I hope his giant melon of a head falls from his shoulders before he gets to the record.

There might be a few idiotic sports fans out there who hate Bonds because of his race, but the overwhelming majority of Bonds-haters dislike him for the same reason you and I do -- his utter dooshiness.

bonds..barry..is the best baseball player in this era..and where is the proof he "used"..i am pissed Mays doesn't have record..since it seems to be ignored he spent 2 seasons in the USArmy..his prime years..easily 100 homers..were not accounted for..
