Jimmie Johnson vs Kyle Busch at New Hampshire

Jimmie was at fault?

Kyle was at fault?

Racing incadent?

Both butheads so do does not matter?

Pam on bummpers, this is almost a safty thing to prevent cars from hanging up but NASCAR wants to ban it.

Just make the teams with the money find slipperier paints or finishes so they get same effect.

If these guys are still going to hook up two x two, the lubricant on the bumpers IS a safety measure.. NASCAR cant see that. They think eliminating it will decrease the 2x2. But then, we already know it wont.

They can't both be Buttheads.. One has to be Beavis.. I nominate Kyle.

Like I said yesterday, I sat in turns 3 & 4 and from my vantage point it looked like JJ ran the corner to hard and slid up into Kryle (trademarked by Float).

I think Mr. Johnson has reached the point of frustration.
Dupont might have a slippery paint and only Jeff and Jooonya will have it.

Heaven forbid!.. that sounds like a "competitive advantage" and nascar will have to ban it!

Im sure at least one team will find a way around the ban. Does the ban state they can't use WD-40 or they can't put anything on the bumpers?

September 27, 2011  01:18 PM ET

JJ's fault. He admitted it in one of the interviews. He let the frustration of the bad pit call earlier combined with a couple other on track incidents affect him. I listen to his radio throughout a good portion of every race. It was just a track that was too hard to pass on, and he just couldn't get by Kyle.

I'll agree with the above on JJ. He was definitely getting frustrated, but being a 5 time champ, you'd think he would have learned to control his emotions.

I don't think NASCAR is making a good call on the WD40. If those bumpers aren't slick then people will be getting turned when the car behind them moves.

This might be a good time for Turtle Wax to step up and sponsor a car. Give them a nice slick bumper.

48 got into the 18. I think JJ said that most of the time someone will slide up and give you that groove. Someone didn't tell Kyle (err, Kryle). As for lubricants on the bumpers, it makes sense, so NASCAR will probably disallow it.

Nascar seems to be doing everything possible to eliminate the 2 car running at Talladega. I applaud their attempts.

I agree, but just dont think this one the drivers will pay much attention to and keep on keeping pushing.

The lowering of "radiator cap" pressure is going to be a significant step.. in that while it wont eliminate the two car tango, it will cause these guys to have to swap out much more often, and hopefully significantlly reduce the effectiveness of the strategy.

Unless some brilliant crew chief figures out a way to incorporate teflon into the body wrap they use on the front and rear (so-called) bumpers.

September 27, 2011  03:40 PM ET

they could always apply a thin clear sheet over the wraps.

Don't they wax the cars?

I think they actually do at the superspeedways.. well, kinda

It was on the #24, I believe, I recall seeing a interview with somebody that was talking how once they put the decals all on, they clearcoated OVER the decals to reduce drag.
