I was sad to see that my name b.l.u.m.p.k.i.n. (without the . in the name) was banned by FanNation Administrators.  One day, after being a member for about a month, I logged in, and my name was changed to "Let's try that name again...", I was like WTF?  Right now, I haven't changed it b/c I kind of think its a neat novelty for the time being.

Next thing I noticed was that more than 75% of the pictures that I uploaded were removed....including a picture of my avatar, but just in my pictures section.  I had many pictures that were not cropped or altered in any way, and did not violate ANY of the FanNation terms/conditions!  Mainly, they were just pictures of odd things like baseball players running into a wall, players hugging, or in odd stretching positions.  In fact, I found it funny, that two of maybe 4 pictures that I did post that were cropped/altered/created were NOT TAKEN DOWN from my pictures section (the ones of john lacky).  Point is, the pictures I posted were removed for being odd, NOT offensive!  Ridiculous!

So right now, I'm trying to decide whether its even worth it to re-make a name if FanNation is just going to change it on me again in another month.  And another thing im thinking about doing, is just re-posting 20+ pictures that FanNation wrongfully took down from my profile.

P.S.  I never received any kind of courtesy email or notice from FanNation that anything with my account was being changed or deleted.

If anyone ever has a problem with the pictures I post, please let me know!  (including you, FanNation Admins!)

Any comments are welcome!

I'd Really like to hear what anyone has to say!

You actually were warned twice about the images and name. We recieved several complaints about them, and they were removed. The images themselves were not the problem, it was the homophobic comments that accompanied them.

I never received any warnings! I even checked my spam folder! Nor was anything sent to me in my FanNation message box!!!!

I never once realized anyone complained about anything!

Before posting any pictures, I thought I was careful about not offending anyone of any kind of sexual orientation.
However, one picture I did post, featured a fake/created photo of Brett Favre holding a sign that said "I heart men"--that was the only picture that I posted that I realize can be taken as homophobic. And to that picture, I did not add any comment to, just left it as it was. I personally don't think Brett Farve is homosexual---its pretty well known he actually has a sincere & loving wife. For that picture, I am truely sorry to anyone I offended! And if I had known it had generated any serious complaints, I would have taken it down immediately!
(although, that picture could also be taken as Brett Favre prefers manly things like hunting, or likes being around his teammates; it didnt state that he was a homosexual---but i do realize this can cause an issue---in which i am 100% fine with complying with.) Sorry.

As for homophobic comments that accompanied the images....I remember a couple specific comments that followed 2 separate pictures that were both taken down.
Examples:
One had a picture of 2 yankees colliding into a wall (they also ended up colliding together), in which i added the comment--"typical yankees"---apparently that is homophobic? I meant it to be poking fun at the yankees lack of fielding talent....but whatever---if that can be taken as homophobic, i better be VERY careful on how i add comments to pictures, along with everyone else on the site!
A second picture I posted depicted some Philadelphia Phillies players spraying champagn at each other in a locker room celebration after they had made it into the playoffs this year--I took the picture straight from a reputable sports news website, which most are familiar with (it actually was their mlb's main page picture for a day). The caption I added next to the picture was "the phillies 'celebrating'". Harmless in one persons intent, homophobic in someone elses homophobic train of thought---apparently!

While I have only taken the time to site those two examples, most of the other pictures I posted that were taken down seem to have taken the same route & reasoning to removal.

IF there are EVER any complaints about pictures I post, I would like to be notified in ANY way possible....you can either send me a fannation message or email me!....or if you'd like, add a comment to this blog!

-Let's try that name again...
