The last time I looked the only New York Jet that ever made a Championship game prediction and won the game and the NFL championship was Joe Namath , not loud mouth disrespectful Rex . Joe Namath predicted his Jets would beat Unitas and the heavy favorite Colts and the Jets won the championship . Until you win a Super Bowl Rex maybe you should listen to a New Jets Legend and champion , that said your team did not look prepared against the Raiders Sunday and he was right . Joe Namath deserve better than the negative garbage you said about him and to your team about him . It was total disrespect for a New York Legend . Until you make good on the predictions you make every year and have to eat crow when you lose , just shut your trap and win . You never starred in the NFL and won anything , so until you win the ring you need to listen Rex and respect those that have , you just might learn a thing or two .

Namath's prediction is the stuff of legend, but even he admits it was taken out of context. What he said to the reporters was in response to their repeated questions about how the Jets would play against an undefeatable foe. In an interview a few years ago he said he told the reporters something like "You guys are guaranteeing the Colts will win, well I guarantee we'll win." He didn't mean it as an actual guarantee but more of a knee-jerk reaction to the reporters.

Made for a great story and propel the legend of Joe Namath. He won a championship and is a New York legend if he sees a kink in the Jets armor he should mention it. Rex will have his team better prepared next time.
