He didn't even finish coloring them.

Q: Did you hear about the two Notre Dame fans who froze to death at the drive-in movie?
A: They went to see "Closed for the Winter."

Q: What did the ND football player get on his final exam?
A: Drool.

Q: What's the difference between the Notre Dame cheerleaders and the Titanic?
A: Only a couple thousand people went down on the titanic.

Q: What do the Fighting Irish and Marijuana have in common?
A: They both get smoked in a bowl.

Q: You're stranded on an island with a cannibal, a murderer, and a Notre Dame fan. You have a gun, but there are only two bullets left. Who do you shoot?
A: The Notre Dame fan (twice.)

Q: What do Notre Dame fans and a beer bottle have in common?
A: They're both empty from the neck up.

Q: How do you get a Notre Dame Grad off your front porch?

A: Pay him for the pizza.

Q: What do a call a 250 lb.
I've seen lots of posts regarding team rankings and though it is way too early for something like this how about we take a look at week one games and my humble predictions.

New Orleans at Indianapolis

This one could be a total shoot out! Indy can put up points against anyone and is 15-1 at home over the past 2 seasons. Brees and the gang put on a great show but in the end Indy is just too tough. Colts 38 Saints 31

Atlanta at Minnesota

Coming out party for rookie Adrian Peterson as he rushes for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns and Minnesota's defense comes out barking like mad dogs and shuts down Mike Vick and the Falcons for an easy win. Vikings 30 Falcons 10

Carolina at St. Louis

A Battle between two 8-8 teams looking to rebound in 2007. Carolina wins a close one on the road as Steve Smith catches a late TD pass to rally the Panthers. Panthers 24 Rams 23

Denver at Buffalo

Can Marshawn Lynch provide an upgrade to the running game and take enough pressure of of Losman? Is Cutler the real deal in Denver? Nice early road test for the Broncos and I see them coming out on top in this one. Broncos 30 Bills 17

Kansas City at Houston

Damon Huard versus Matt Schaub, talk about a marquee QB match-up, kidding. I like Schaub to come out throwing and play well in his first start for the Texans. Watch Okoye's debut in this one as well. Texans 24 Chiefs 21

Miami at Washington

Wonder if there is any chance to see Laron Landry knock the crap out of Ted Ginn Jr. in this one? Otherwise, why watch? I like Miami's defense on the road against a woeful Skins team. Dolphins 19 Redskins 10

New England at New York Jets

Jets fans must already be in about 3rd gear waiting for this one and the Jets certainly owe the Patriots one. Ok Jets fans, how about this scenario? Rookie CB Darrrelle Revis intercepts a Tom Brady pass intended for Randy Moss in the end zone to preserve a Jet victory. Jets 24 Patriots 17

Philadelphia at Green Bay

Interesting game, Green Bay probably better and how healthy is McNabb. I still have to give the nod here to Philly in a dog fight, a late Favre rally falling just short. Eagles 27 Packers 21

Pittsburgh at Cleveland

On paper, Cleveland got a lot better this year but still have a ways to go and Pittsburgh looks to rebound from a disappointing 8-8 season last year. How nice of the schedule makers to give them this gift to get off on the right foot. Cleveland fans heard chanting "We want Quinn" by the end of the first quarter. Steelers 31 Browns 10

Tennessee at Jacksonville

Jacksonville is very tough at home but Tennessee looks to be a team on the rise with Vince Young leading the way. Mild upset here as Tennessee pulls one out in the last minute, can anyone say "Vince Young back to pass, he scrambles and runs 12 yards for the go ahead touchdown" Titans 17 Jaguars 13

Chicago at San Diego

This should be a good one if the Bears defense can just contain LT a little bit. Grossman has got to be better this year and the Bears should hang around in this one but San Diego is the better team today. Chargers 24 Bears 20

Detroit at Oakland

Watch this one for one reason only, Calvin Johnson. Here is the deal, Oakland, while very good on defense is still woefully inept on offense. Jamarcus won't be ready yet and the OL is still a wreck. Lions 17 Raiders 10

Tampa Bay at Seattle

Blowout of the week as Tampa Bay is a very bad football team. Seattle dominates from the opening snap; Hasselbeck, Branch and Alexander have huge days as the Seahawks win in a romp. Seahawks 41 Buccaneers 13

New York Giants at Dallas

Hmmmm, Romo vs. Manning, Romo vs, Manning, Romo vs. Manning....wait, oh yeah right, it is Eli Manning! Not the other guy. Cowboys 28 Giants 13

Arizona at San Francisco

Ok, Arizona seems to be everyone's surprise pick the last couple of years and they haven't produced. San Francisco is improved, great running game with Gore and Alex Smith should be solid. Leinart is a proven winner at the college level and showed promise last year. This could be one of the better opening day games. Though I am an Arizona fan, I'll take the 49'ers at home. San Francisco 20 Cardinals 14

Baltimore at Cincinnati

This game should be fantastic with Baltimore coming in as division champs, Carson Palmer back at 100% looking to get back to 2005 form when the Bengals won the division and went to the playoffs. Can the Raven's defense contain the high powered Cincy offense? I can't wait to find out and will have to go with the home team in this one as the Bengal's defense gets 4 turnovers and adds a touchdown. Bengals 34 Ravens 20

Are you ready for some football?

Tue, 17 Jul 2007 20:20:36 GMT http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/42015 DavidSternBlows Throwdown "PacMan" Who hasn't had enough of this player arrested or this player being investigated, and I get it, these stories certainly appeal to the lurid side of a fan's interest. However, I wanted to take a minute to talk about some recent stories that made me feel good as simply a sports fan, so here goes.

Ken Griffey Jr.

Did anyone see the reception that this guy received when he returned to Seattle for the first time since he was traded away in 1999? Hats off to the Seattle fans for recognizing the amazing career that Griffey has had and for welcoming him back with ovations every time he came to bat. And Griffey didn't disappoint, hitting a couple of homers in the game yesterday, the last one a classic deep, high drive off a sign in the right field stands. Mariner's fans showed how classy fans can be towards a visiting player and as a side note Griffey passed Mark McGwire on the all time HR list. Nice to see a player who has done things the right way pass someone who represents the wrong way to succeed.

Oregon State Baseball

The Beavers became the first team in a decade to repeat as CWS champions. Not only did they win this thing, they absolutely dominated the competition even though they lost the majority of last year's national champion team. It was refreshing to watch these guys play hard every single minute of every game, for the love of the game. I'd love to see this team as is play against say maybe the Texas Rangers, I bet they would give them all they could handle.

Giguere re-signs with Ducks

How about one for team loyalty? He signed a 4 year, $24 million dollar contract, sure a ton of money but he certainly could have made more in the free agent market. Nice to see a guy put his teammates before the almighty dollar for a change.

Matt Holliday

Ok, so I am finally on the bandwagon rooting like crazy for this kid. Leads the majors in hitting at around a .360 clip and this guy was a 7th round draft choice. Talk about a feel good story! Although he probably won't be voted in by the fans as an All Star because he is in Colorado, please make sure he is a coach's pick. It would be a travesty if he wasn't rewarded with the season that he is having so far this year.

Tiger Woods - Family Values

Congratulations to Tiger and his wife on the birth of their daughter and here is the part that I love as a parent. He withdrew from the Buick Open to spend time with the family! Now the last time I watched golf on television I seem to remember Tiger and Buick being pretty close on the commercial side of things. Good to see that Tiger's priorities are in the right place and that Buick didn't try to force him to appear in the tourney.

Happy Monday everyone, let's all place nice in the sand box this week.

Mon, 25 Jun 2007 19:07:45 GMT http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/23722 DavidSternBlows Over/Under Fun http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/19913
Hope everyone is doing well and this one is for all of you degenerate gamblers out there, like myself. With Roger ready to make his first start on Saturday I was thinking about a few things. I had a chance to look at the record of Yankees starting pitchers so far this year and not surprisingly it is isn't stellar at 19-21 which tells me one of the reasons that Roger chose the Yankees, more on that later. Petite has put up solid numbers but only has 3 wins to show for it and the rookie Clippard has looked pretty good as well. After that the rotation is a disaster for a number of reasons. So here are my thoughts, one of the main reasons that Clemens chose the Yankees is that he only has to be decent in order to be better than what they have now! He'll probably get between 15 and 20 starts depending on his health and if he gets a decision in say 2/3 of those games and wins say 8 games or so he'll look like a god compared to the mess that is there now. I have always like the way Clemens has played the game, hard-nosed, doesn't back down and he knows how to pitch. I think he still has enough in the tank to win 10 games this year, even if he is a 6 inning guy now like everyone is saying. The cool thing for him is that the Yankees almost have to play better as a team the rest of the season making his role a bit easier. And it cracks me up when people get on him for just playing half a season for so much money and getting special treatment in his contract. The guy is a first ballot hall of famer, he deserves whatever a team will give him, probably more.

Wed, 06 Jun 2007 22:29:51 GMT http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/18878 DavidSternBlows
