Hey Overated Ohio State fans !

Enough ranting about Ohio state till they've done somthing ... I read a blog earlier that they have a higher ranked defense than USF. Of course they do because they've play a JV football schedule while USF just finished taking the #1 offense in the land to the wood shed . Ohio State plays  in the second worst division 1 football conference in college football thus far this year. Respect is earned.. USF has earned it

0-8 for Irish start this year ?

Another week and another loss for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and arguably there best shot @ a win  till week eight. They'll be 20+ point dogs @ Purdue and @ home against Boston College and USC. Unless the JV UCLA squad wanders into the stadium as it did against a 43-6 loss to Utah that defies logic, They'll start the season 0-8 and in all reality Duke might very well be the only game there favored in.

We can hear all the excuses under the sun as far as recruiting and the talent is young and that the class was a little weaker than projected when Weis wasnt able to recruit until after the playoffs when he left the Patriots a couple years ago , but a drop off this big ?? I realize this program isn't the NFL combine teams that LSU, USC and Florida that simply lock and load but it's still a proud school that merits top flite highschool recruits every year is it not ?

Weiss wasn't the answer - WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN !

Weis is a great coach ... just look at the drop off the Pats have had since he left !

In all seriousness when will AD's and those that interview and hire college coachs realize that head coaching in  the NFL or coordinating and coaching at a major college program are totally different jobs altogether and very few if anyone have had succes at both.

With college coaching your asked to be a father figure, a mentor, a fundraiser raiser, and probably most importantly a recruiter. Where as coaching in the NFL is a management position in charge of men and millionaires playing the game as a business.  Somehow i couldnt see Belicheck or Shanahan (the mad scientists of the NFL) in a living room selling there program to a family  or at a fundraiser trying to sell box seats for the homecoming game.
