Giants Diehard

Cain and Lincecum

Matt Cain is still learning things about pitching and control. He has had a couple of bad outings and a couple good ones, but try as he might, the bad luck he gets is very depressing. In his last outing, Cain went up against Maddux and the San Diego Padres. What happened? Cain gave up 1 run in 7 innings, striking out 7. And true to form, the Giants gave him 0 run support. It took a HR by Benji Molina in the bottom of the 9th to avoid Cain going 0-3 The Giants just DON'T SCORE when Cain is in the game.

Giants NOT doomed?

The Giants were supposed to lose 100+ games this year. Everyone picked them to be laughably pathetic.

Tim Lincecum has done his thing, namely go 2-0 with a 2.25 era. In 16 innings he has given up 17 hits, 22 strikeouts, 4 runs. He has also chipped in with 2 hits, 2 runs scores, and an rbi.

Unheralded rookie John Bowker got called up and hit a hr in his first MLB at-bat on saturday. Bam! Then he got a start on sunday, and hit another hr. In 6 at-bats he has 2 hr, 7 rbi, and slugging 1.667

Back to Back walk-off wins!

Oh yeah! My San Fran Giants just took 2 of 3 from the Padres by winning the last two games on the last at-bat!!

On tuesday they won with an 11th inning walk-off HR from catcher Benjie Molina, his 2nd hr of the game. BAM!

On wednesday, Dan Ortmeier slugged a ground rule double over the head of Jim Edmonds driving in Rajai Davs for the win in the bottom of the ninth, breaking a 0-0 tie!!!! BAM!

Sure my Giants are still under .500, but i sure feels good to win back-to-back games on the last at-bat. The Giants were feeling snakebit, as nothing was going their way the first two series of the season, and this certainly will give them some confidence.
