Squidoo Sports Lens Challenge

Squidoo Sports Lens Challenge

Why Squidoo:

Because it is the easiest way to build a webpage. You just pick a few modules that will enable you to feature the content you want, and you can literally build a lens in less than 20 minutes. In fact, I built this one about fellow fannation community member hyped78 in less than 12 minutes, and it's a great way to help you build up your visibility and notoriety on fannation.

Also, I should tell you now. You CAN get paid for your lens. Most lenses don't make much money, but your lens will display advertisements and you will receive a portion of the ad revenue. You can either a.) donate it to charity or b.) get a check from Squidoo.

About:

I have invited some of the top fannation community members, bloggers, and throwdowners to be apart of the Squidoo Sports Lens Challenge. Design 3 lenses in the sport category (or just one if you want) by July 31st. What kind of sports-related lens you ask? I have come up with three categories as starting points. You can create all of your lenses in one category, or spread them out any way you choose.

Categories:

1.)    Inspirational Sports Stories or Personalities - Does Jason McElwain inspire you? What about Kirk Gibson's walk-off home run? Maybe Tiger Wood's recent performance at Torrey Pines. Whatever it is make a lens about it!

New Note on Throwdowns

Here's something I think is VERY important to take note of with respect to "Throwdowns," and the specific throwdown that inspired this blog post:

I could start an argument saying Kobe is the most prolific scorer in the NBA right now. That's damn near a fact and that would probably win on fannation regardless of the commentary, but if a guy is making a lousy argument for that, and another guy is making a brilliant argument in favor of maybe Carmelo or Gilbert Arenas then that guy deserves to win. It's ashame that more fannation voters vote just what they believe instead of what they believe is the most insightful argument.

That's why PTI is such a successful show. Both Kornheiser and Wilbon have the ability to argue both sides of the ball regardless of what they believe. Therein lies what a throwdown should embody.

The following is the throwdown that incited this post and my response to it:
