Sports Betting to Save Teams
How long can Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Milwaukee keep their teams? This may save them.
Legalizing sports betting would not work in the US but this idea might.
To play this game you select a team, like the Dallas Cowboys or Patriots in the Super Bowl. When you do so, you also select a list of numbers like playing the lottery. There would be a lottery after the game for those who chose that team and if your numbers came up you would win. It would not corrupt the sport since fixing the game makes no sense without also fixing a lottery like practically state has in operation daily. There are also sports betting operations in several states that don't have the lottery step to help keep things honest and huge amounts have been bet there for decades.
