Goodell checks In and Possible Suitors

Well, NFL commisoneer Roger Goodell might as well have told the Packers to get out or be shoved out after all this nonsense between Brett Favre and the Packers, Goodell has finally stepped in and gave the Packers a new reason to get rid of Favre and end this now; he expects the Packers to be rid of Favre by Sunday and not only that but, he is offering Brett Favre his support throughtout this whole situation. So we are not done with this whole mess yet.

A Closer Look at the Sports World

I cooked this up just based on what you see in everyday sports, I hope you enjoy and I'm open for comments...

Present day sports world has become a community, which has followed with the rest of the world. Whether it is wrestling, football, basketball, baseball, whatever the sport may be, it is all about the business and money and it is the athletes center of attention. Other than performing stupid tricks or believing in the false hope that they are above the law athletes or celebrities know one thing that they learned from school and that is about money. Dangle 20 million on a rope in front of Josh Childress and you might as well have gotten him hooked on drugs (See more on Childress and his possible 20 million here). Money is the driving force of the sports world today and it has gone from just a kid's game on the playground without pay to a big man's game who gets at least 20 million in his bank account every year while everyone else is left to fend for themselves.

The Shot Heard Around the World

I'm back once again with edition three and we have a bit of news so without firther adu here is the new edition...

Analyzing the Jason Taylor Trade

It has almost been 24 hours since the news and it has spread like a wildfire (what doesn't?) Jason Taylor has gone to the Redskins for two draft picks in 2009 and 2010 and it seems as if a prayer was answered in the Redskins organization after Phillip Daniels was down for several minutes he somehow just knew his season would be over which is where Coach Jim Zorn encountered his first problem of his career with the Redskins. Zorn mentioned, "Phillip created a big hole," in order to fill that hole, the Redskins would have to work fast with their fingers and their Deal or No Deal tactics.

Jason Taylor is now Dancing with the Redskins

As much as everyone hates ESPN you have to admit they always get the word out first and were right when they said Favre could come back, so you have to give them credit here.

After losing Phillip Daniels for the season, the Washington Redskins aquired Jason Taylor from Miami and they only had to throw in a 09' second rounder and 10' sixth rounder. This is a good move by the Skins' because even though The "Diva" is on the team now at least they have a great pass rusher to replace Daniels and give the Redskins a bit of an edge on defense. Daniels left a big hole and Taylor can now fill it, this should help take care of the Skins' problems for now and hopefully we will hear less of Taylor's mouth and see more of his playing do the talking.

Reading Review: Deadline by Chris Crutcher

(I recently posted this in the Reading Group however since I'm cutting back on my groups, I have posted it here).

I just finshed reading "Deadline" by Chris Crutcher today and it chronicles the life of a senior, Ben Wolf who is terminally ill. Yet he decides to keep his illness from others and try to live a 'normal' life but he soon realizes that nothing is normal about his life.

Ben doesn't accept treatment not wanting to become bald and live a briefly extended life. Instead he decides to live his life to the maximum. He decides to become the best 123 pound football player his school has ever had, give his civics teacher a dose of his true knowledge, finally get the girl of his dreams Dallas Suzuki and help a drunk Rudy McCoy, sober up.
