Week 11 Predictions

Carolina @ Green Bay-Green Bay They are the better team in this matchup. The Panthers really don't have a good QB.

New York Giants @ Detroit-Detroit Look at my other blog.

Oakland @ Minnesota-Oakland  I'm sorry, but how can you win without your great running back and no QB?? Oakland wins this.

Tampa Bay @ Atlanta-Tampa Bay  Atlanta just sucks, plain and simple. Tampa Bay comes out with an easy victory.

New Orleans @ Houston-New Orleans Come on, they are finally coming back to life and their running game should improve. The Texans have just been falling since their 2-0 start. They fall again today.

Giants-Lions Game

Two supposed NFC contenders look to rebound from poor outings. the Giants were beaten at home by Dallas and the Lions fell at Arizona. Giants quarterback Eli Manning is again taking a lot of heat after completing 23 of 34 passes for 236 yards and two interceptions against the Cowboys. The 30th-ranked Detroit defense is a great team for a rebound.

I think that the Lions will win. The predicted score: Lions 24  Giants 10

Fred Taylor Reaches Milestone

Jacksonville running back Fred Taylor became the 21st player in NFL history to rush for more than 10,000 yards in his career. After getting no yards on his first two carries, Taylor ran for 15 yards to eclipse the milestone. He finished with 16 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 28-13 victory over the host Tennessee Titans. I want to say congradulations to Fred Taylor and I hope you do too. Good job Fred.

Dick Nolan Dies

Dick Nolan, the former coach of the San Francisco 49ers and the fater of the current coach Mike Nolan, died Sunday,the 49ers said. He was 75 years old. Dick Nolan, a former NFL defensive back who also coached the New Orleans Saints, had ben in declining health with Alzheimer's disease and prostate cancer for serveral years. He spent the last few months at an assisted-care facility in the Dallas area, near his longtime home with his wife, Ann. Mike Nolan missed practice with the 49ers on Friday and Saturday, traveling back to Texas to be with his father. Theam spokesman Aaron Salkin said Nolan would coach the 49ers tonight against the Seattle Seahawks. Dick Nolan played nine NFL seasons before becoming a coach, assisting Hall of Famer Tom Landry in Dallas and going 71-85-3 in nearly 11 seasons with San Francisco and New Orleans. He led the perennially downtrodden 49ers to 56 victories, three division titles and two conference championship games in eight years with the club. I honor this man and he was a good coach. I pray that his family will be okay with him now gone. I offer my support and prayers to that family. Sad to see.
