Rockets look to make it 23 tonight.
It will be a VERY tough game for the Rockets as the best in the west go up against the beasts of the East (Celtics).
The 53-13 Celtics will be taking on the 46-20 Rockets. The Celtics beat the Rockets earlier this season, but the Rockets are RED HOT and with the Celtics Allen down, this is a toss-up of a game. It will be a GREAT game and its on TNT at 9:30 tonight. The Celtics NEED Allen to beat the Rockets. Without him they lose the ability to knock down a clutch shot late in the game. No offense to Pierce, but Allen is one of the greatest shooters of all time. They really have no one to go to if they need a quick shot now. Pierce isn't exactly who you would want to be taking a clutch shot and Rondo is a 2 year player who has taken a good role on the team, but not as a big time shooter.
Look for one match-up this game. It is the key match-up of the game. Dikembe Mutombo guarding Kevin Garnett. Now, don't get me wrong, I know that Mutombo is a C and KG is a PF but there is NO way the Rockets will leave Luis Scola on KG. Mutombo has proven himself to be one of the GREATEST defensive players of all time and has 2.7 BPG on his career. That is unreal. He is second on the all time blocks list after only the great Hakeem Olajuwon. Look for KG to get shut down this game. I know Mutombo is past his prime, but he is still an EXCELLENT defender.

The NBA MVP votings as of now
Here is how I believe the MVP votings should go as of right now.
1. Kobe Bryant- At this point, it HAS to be him. There has never been an MVP on a team with less than 50 wins. Sorry LeBron, but you won't reach 50. Kobe led the Lakers to second place in the insanely competetive West. This may just be a make-up vote by the voters for snubbing him all of these years. If he is close enough that it will come down to a tiebreaker of some sort, they will give it to Kobe. NO way a player of this caliber can go through his whole career without being MVP once. Kobe has a great statline 27.8 PPG 6 RPG and 5.4 APG. If thats not enough, I don't know what else the guy has to do.
