I am slowing down . . .

As many know, I am a college student and have four kids.  Well, many of my college professors are piling up homework on me and pretty much every second, one of my kids is screaming.

Because of this, I have had very little time for FanNation.  I thought about leaving the site until I graduate but I decided not too.  I used to spend two hours a day on FN but I found my GPA slipping.  I will now be spending a half hour at the most a day on FN.

I need help . . .

I was wondering . . .

What is up with all of these superhero avatars on everybody's profile?  This morning, I was looking as throwdowns and at this one throwdown, nearly everyone who had commented (about 10 people) all had superhero avatars.

Is it a Night Owls thing or something?  It is sort of weird, what is it about?

By the way:

CLEVELAND INDIANS SUCK

The Fantasy Wiz

This is my outfielder edition.  Sorry it is so late, I just haven't had time to go onto my computer lately.

1. Magglio Ordonez, Detroit Tigers

Magglio Ordonez had a career season last year.  He hit .363 with 28 homeruns and a career-high 139 runs batted in.  Maggs missed MVP because of Alex Rodriguez's 50 homerun season but Ordonez will be on the lookout again for an MVP award this year.  Magglio got off to a somewhat slow start but he has really turned it on lately as he hit two homeruns on April 24th against the Texas Rangers.  Maggs has a grand total of five homeruns so far this year and his 14 runs batted in aren't bad either, batting in front of a lineup that has had it's struggles so far this year.  His .294 average should improve but don't expect the eye-popping average of .363 in 2007 considering that it is highly unlikely that he could repeat his magnificent season again.  Maggs will be lucky to hit .340 this year, .320 - .330 might be more like it but a thing that he is headed for is a whole bucket of "ribbies."  His speed has dropped quite a bit since his 25 stolen base 2001 season but now he has other attributes to make up for it.

MLB AL East Predictions

I know, this is a little late, but here are my AL East predictions.

1. Boston Red Sox - 95-67

The Boston Red Sox were in the Top 5 in the league last year in almost every offensive and pitching catagories.  Their offense will be good again.  Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz had "off years" and still combined for a .300+ average. 50+ homeruns, and 200+ runs batted in.  Dustin Pedroia, J.D. Drew, and Julio Lugu should all imrpove in their second year with the team.  This is a top five offense but the pitching staff, which is being led by Daisuke Matsuzaka right now who had a 4.00+ ERA last year, will not be great.  First of all, Curt Schilling might be out for the whole season and Josh Beckett will spend some time on the disabled list.  Yes, Clay Buchholz is a stud - or is he the stud of the future?  Anyway, I doubt he will become one of the best pitchers in the league this year.  The Sox still have Tim Wakefield but he is getting old.  This may all be putting to much pressure on second-year Dice-K (Matsuzaka).
