NFL Draft - #1 Pick..Blessing or Curse?

With the NFL Draft about a month away I thought it might be fun to go back the last 20 years and examine how #1 picks actually panned out for the teams that selected them. 

1988 - Atlanta Falcons - Aundray Bruce, LB, Auburn

• College stud, only started 42 games in his 11 year NFL career - BUST
• Tim Brown was picked 6th, Sterling Sharpe 7th

1989 - Dallas Cowboys - Troy Aikman, QB, UCLA

• Hall of Fame, 3 Super Bowl wins - HOME RUN

1990 - Indianapolis Colts - Jeff George, QB, Illinois

• Didn't he end up flipping off the fans in Indy? - BUST
• Emmit Smith was picked 17th

Super Bowl - Futures Odds

I was checking out my favorite online sportsbook today and decided to take a look at how they were handicapping who would win the 2008 Super Bowl.  

Take a look at the favorites:

New England Patriots 5-2

San Diego Chargers 6-1

Indianapolis Colts 8-1

Probably in line with what most of the experts are predicting.

Now let's look at the next set:

Cincinnati Bengals 15-1

Chicago Bears 15-1

New Orleans Saints 15-1

Love seeing my Bengals handicapped higher than the Ravens or Steelers.

Notre Dame Jokes

I just thought that with the start of the College Football season so close, I'd share some ND jokes with Fannation.

Some of my favorite recent TD's and Arguments

TD - The Eagles will win their division

Argument - The Eagles will win because their whole team will be all healthy

TD - I do not like the Yankees

Argument - yankees suck!!!

TD - The warriors will not make the playoffs

Argument - they lost stephen for the first games of the season and nelly probably wont come back

TD - The yankees will make the playoffs.

Argument - They will win the wild card, or mayb even the AL East if the Red Sox are the Red Sox of old......again.
