NO! I mean, YES! I mean...

SI is reporting that the Yankees have reached a preliminary deal with Richie Sexson. THE Richie Sexson. The guy the MARINERS released last week. For those that don't know, the Mariners are in the bottom 10 in the league in AVG, Runs, Home Runs, OBP, SLG, OPS...those Mariners.

Richie Sexson thus far is hitting .218, with 11 HR and 30 RBI in 252 AB, not to mention a .696 OPS.

After I saw this, I immediately thought, "Damn you Steinbrenner!" (me not being sure which one orchestrated this). But then, as I read further into the article and Sexson's numbers, I realized...this could actually be a good move. And then I realized it probably isn't.

What Has Really Happened Today?

Like any normal day, I got up, took a shower, got dressed, brushed my teeth, ate some breakfast, and turned on ESPN. It was, of course, SportsCenter that was on. I've never been a big fan of SportsCenter, as I feel they are either way too biased in their coverage of some teams (Yanks, Sox, Patriots, etc) and don't pay enough attention to some other teams (Everyone Else?).

Anyways, I turn on the TV, and of course one of the first stories to come on is about the A-Rod divorce and the allegations of him cheating on his wife...something we all already knew, but it's nice to have closure. This divorce has been incoming for at least a week, and yet A-Rod is on top of his game as of late. I'm happy as a Yankees fan, but...this is somehow even more disturbing to me, that a guy can cheat on his wife, get a divorce, and act like nothing has happened to him. You can call it "focus", but I call it "not caring".

101 Predictions for the 2008 NFL season: Part Three!

Sorry it took so long, but now that my last two have hit over 1,000 views, I decided to get out number three on the list, or part 79-70. Here we go:

79. The Bears, in an effort to circumvent their offensive woes, moves Devin Hester to RB and has him stand 20 yards back, from where he gets the ball and tries to score a TD.

78.  Felix Jones asks to be traded after he is told he was drafted so they wouldn't have to buy a new uniform for him.

101 Predictions for the 2008 NFL season: Part Two!

I had almost 500 views on the last one, and I'm hoping to top it here. With no further ado, I give you 89-80!

89. Adrian Peterson becomes the first man to run for 2,000 yards twice -- in the same season. After getting 2,010 yards by Week 15, he runs for -15 yards in Week 16 and 235 yards in Week 17.

88. By the end of the season, every team has worn their throwbacks at least twice, causing most teams to wonder why the hell they stopped wearing them in the first place.

101 Predictions for the 2008 NFL season: Part One

The NFL season is a breeding ground for predictions. Never having done a blog like this before, I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring and offer my pre-summer predictions for the upcoming NFL season. This is part one, or 101-90:

101. Jason Taylor will shut up and play for the Dolphins, on the condition they install a new dance studio in the Dolphins' locker room.

100. The Cowboys decide to open their new stadium in 2008, so they'll have a new dome for when Pacman decides to make it rain.
