The Great Outfield Debate
Well from the looks of our poll we should be trading Willy Mo Pena (17 votes) versus trading Coco Crisp (6 votes). A quick look at the stats would seem to support the rationale for this opinion. While Crisp is not a power hitter, he seems to be the more versatile of the two.
So now the lingering question...who, or what position, should the Sox target in return for Pena? I have seen some suggestions, insane as they might be, that we package Jon Lester and Willy Mo in exchange for Rich Harden. Are you kidding me?!? Rich Harden is the second coming of Carl Pavano. The Sox would be crazy to consider trading any of their minor league pitching! Have we not learned anything from the Arroyo trade? And while the Sox do seem to be getting the better of the deal, I do mean the Mike Lowell bonus feature, even the Beckett trade!
