The Braves need to be buyers at the trade deadline!

As an Atlanta Braves fan, I may be a bit biased but we (I always refer to my team as if I'm a member of it) need to be buyers at the trade deadline.  We need another bat in the lineup either in left field or at first base.  I like Matt Diaz and Willy Harris but we need more run production from left field.  Maybe a trade for Ken Griffey Jr. or Adam Dunn or Jermaine Dye.  If we were to go first base (Thorman needs more time in AAA) I think a guy like Mark Tiexera (sp?) would be a good fit.  It's also possible to get somebody who doesnt play first base and then move him there because lets be honest, it doesnt take a great athlete to catch a ball and step on first.

Ranking the NFL QB's from #1 to #32

Let me begin by saying that there are several things wrong with Peter King's list of QB rankings.  This ridiculous assertation  by Peter King has led me to do my own list of QB rankings from 1-32.  So here we go...

 1.  Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts -- Manning is still in his prime and I wouldve had Tom Brady here if it werent for that little thing called a Super Bowl that Manning won last year.  Now he has a championship to go with those gaudy stats, which is why he's number 1.

Farewell to Bob Barker

I know this isnt 100% sports relevent but I'd like to give Bob Barker and The Price is Right some love.

As many (if not all) of you know, yesterday marked the airing of the final new episode of the Price is Right featuring Bob Barker as host. I grew up watching the Price is Right and am a lifelong fan of the show. Having said that I'd like to take a look back at what makes the Price is Right what it is and at what made yesterday's finale so special. First let's look at the finale...

College Softball Is Awesome

I dont know about the rest of you guys out there but I am loving watching the Women's College World Series (WCWS).  Most of the time when people think of softball players they think of big burly manly girls but that sterotype is really overrated.  Just watching some of the WCWS you can see lots of beautiful girls out there giving it their all.  And not only are they pretty but theyre out there playing with makeup and earrings.  Some of these girls who are out there playing I'd rank right up there with the Maria Sharapovas, the Danica Patricks, the Natalie Gulbis's (or maybe the plural should be Natali Gulbi -- ha ha), and the Michelle Wies.  I've always been a big softball fan ever since I started announcing games in high school two years ago but I've never paid much attention to the college game.  That is until I started watching the WCWS during the commercials of the NBA Playoffs.  Many of these girls are truly beautiful and guys everywhere should pay attention to college softball!  Not only is it entertaining from an athletic perspective but it's also very easy on the eyes.  If you dont believe me I'd encourage you to check out some team's web pages where they have individual pics of the players.  You wont be sorry!
