Eagles took a stab at Chiefs Allen

The DelcoTimes.com is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles were one of the teams that has tried to acquire Kansas City Chiefs DE Jared Allen. No surprise there, who WOULDN’T want to acquire Allen. According to Delco, the offer was pretty much the same thing the Eagles have offered everyone in major deals, Lito Sheppard and a package of picks. It looks like the Eagles are REALLY looking for another play-maker on either side of the ball, and desperately looking to move Lito.

Lions refuse Eagles trade offer.

As the draft gets closer, the rumors about Detroit Lions wide receiver Roy Williams heat up. We can also thank GCobb.com for that. Former Philadelphia Eagles player and current radio analyst Mike Quick said there should be news on Williams this week. Garry Cobb, a Philadelphia (key word) media personality, reports “that means the Cowboys, Redskins or the Eagles will probably wind up with the receiver.” Is any of it true?

Well its definite truth the Eagles are desperately looking for a #1 wide receiver. Everyone knows about their pursuit of Randy Moss. Their trade offers for Larry Fitzgerald, Roy Williams, Chad Johnson and now even Anquan Boldin (who i think could be the most attainable for what they are offering).

A-Rod out with quad injury.

Alex Rodriguez left today’s game against the Baltimore Orioles due to a strained right quad. The injury happened in the top of the 6th inning as A-Rod was running down the first base line. He pulled up lame about 3/4 way down the line holding his thigh.

Derek Jeter recently had the same injury and missed about a weeks worth of playing time. If the New York Yankees third baseman misses any time you could expect Morgan Ensberg to play third. At the time, it looks like A-Rod will be able to avoid the disabled list.

Sheffield wants shoulder checked out

Detroit Tigers DH Gary Sheffield is still being bothered by his surgically-repaired shoulder and wants team doctors to check it out. Sheffield is not in the lineup today against the Toronto Blue Jays. “It was major surgery, and I have to get it to a point where I’m comfortable. Obviously I’m not,” he said.

Sheffield is off to a pretty bad start with a .192 average, a homer and 2 rbi. The balky shoulder most likely has something to do with this. Everyone knows that Sheffield’s strength is his fast, powerful swing. “It doesn’t hurt as much as it did, but it still doesn’t give me the range of motion that I need,” he said. “When I try to swing harder, it slows it down even more. I didn’t know it was going to be this tight.”

Giants Jacobs in sling and cast

New York Giants starting running back Brandon Jacobs was seen Friday at Madison Square Garden in a sling and cast. What the hell?!?!?! What happened?! There’s been no releases at all from the team about any problems with Jacobs this off-season, not even little leaks to the media just to put it out there.

Jacobs was in attendance for the Golden Gloves finals friday at MSG, and was wearing a cast on his left forearm and had his arm in a sling. According to Ian Begley, of the NY Daily News, Jacobs recently had surgery on his left wrist and told Begley that doctors “just cleaned some stuff out,” and that he “definitely” will be ready come July for training camp. The team has told the Daily News, that the surgery was no big deal.
