The whole Shockey thing.

This whole Jeremy Shockey thing is starting to be old news.  Truefully the way I feel about it is trade him.  I don't find it to be a coincidence that Eli started making huge strides in his game as soon as he got hurt.  I really don't.  I think the facts were right in front of you.  Without Shockey on the field open things up for everyone.  Not only the recievers but the running game also.  Once he was hurt, they really started to rely on the running game to set things up for the passing game.  Jeremy is a great player, but he is inconsistant at times and very much a me guy.  He's a tough, relentless competeter, who has unique skills and blocking albilities, but does he really fit the team chemistry anymore?  I personally don't believe so.  The last two games of the season and throughout the playoffs the Giants were as team oriented as I have seen them in quite a few years.  No Tiki to rely on to get them out of a jam if the rest of the offfense was on idle, the defensive line was one solid unit that prided themselves on being a unit and not singled out names (although there's plenty to single out).  The New York Giants are a team, not a bunch of individual players, a team.  A team with conviction and something to prove, not a team focused on building individuals.  I've always been a Jeremy Shockey fan, and probably will continue to be for the rest of his career, but when players are frustrated and unhappy, let them go, not only for them but for the team also.  TEAM!
