RAW Spotlight: 8/11/08

There is going to be a huge RAW tonight at 9pm eastern time on USA. The big part will be when former world tag team championsCody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase get a rematch for their titles back against Batista and John Cena tonight as the main event. Also CM Punk has been challenged by JBL to some sort of match. And to top it all off newly crowmned RAW General Manager has been determined and announced that he will be finding out what is in Kane's mysterious "bag."

Early SummerSlam Thoughts

I have to admit pretty bored and I want to talk about some 'rasslin.  I also have to admit that I'm not very impressed at all with the SummerSlam card right now.  So, let's look at the matches that have officially been announced.

1. WWE Championship Match: Triple H vs. The Great Khali- Oh god, please don't get me started.  Now, I'm not a big-man hater (I'm a fan of Big Show's work, no Big Show) but I have to say that Khali is an absolutely awful wrestler.  I mean he's slower than the Big Show was when he was as wide as the side of my grandad's barn!  I'm also not a HHH fan, but you could have go someone better to fight him than Khali.  Khali is nothing but a person that is used to make these guys look good and I hate it.  Remember when Cena fought him in those awful matches? He's so big and slow that it's really hard to put a good match together.  I was really hoping for a HHH/Edge match and then see Undertaker come back later.  But that's OK because I think Taker and HHH will be going at it very soon.

UNDERTAKER RETURNS!!!!!!!

After nearly a two Undertakerless WWE, SmackDown general manager Vickie Gurerro reinstated former World Heavyweight and WWE Champion Undertaker from being banned from the WWE forever. What she did on top of that, was put him in a hell in a cell match against Edge to see the number 1 contender would be after SummerSlam.

Undertakers wrath will be large and all SmackDown fans with big time favorite wrestlers should be aware of his talents. Some miscellaneous news in the WWE also brings up the Top 25 finishers in the WWE and Undertakers Tombstone is number 2 on the list as well.

Late 1990s Were the Best Time in WWF History

The late 1990s had a surge of popularity in professional wrestling. The WWF is a big reason for this surge and the Monday Night Wars was a great interprogram rivalry between the WWF and WCW. The ratings contest between the WCW and WWF was neck and neck until about June of 1996 when the WWF took a dive but then in March of 1998 the WWF and WCW got into a dead heat in ratings again until the WWF took the ratings by storm and flew past the WCW to never look back again in March 1999. What happened in that time period that went from the WWF's lowest rating at the time of about 1.5 in December 1996 to steadily increase to its highest rating of about 8.1 in June 1999?
