I'll say it again: The four opponents I defeated en route to the OATTA championship made it about as hard as possible. Congratulations to Chris Cole, PlayAngryFan, BSchwartz07 and Elway4Prez on four fantastic Throwdowns.
The subject came up in our group of what the picture of our group should be, and what the winner of our first tournament should choose.
The immediate response: Naked chicks.
Hard to argue with that. But I'd rather go in another direction.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Upon returning from vacation, Elway4Prez, the esteemed and exalted manager of the OATTA (the "Prez," if you will) announced the formation of the popular group's second tournament. This announcement comes about 17 hours before the start of the group's first tournament champion - No. 6 seed Elway4Prez (42-7-2, Glendale, Ariz.) will take on 10-seed Steelercooz (33-4-3, Philadelphia) at 10 p.m. ET.
While it wouldn't exactly be appropriate to challenge him to a Throwdown over this, he mentioned OATTA is the "number two tourney on FanNation."
Our first tourney is in the finals but i want to think about the future. As soon as our first ends, I'd like to begin our 2nd. It once again will consist of 16 so I'm just taking whoever asks first. Of course I'm saving 5 slots for our final four (I'm including five because Bpeepers dropped out and BSchwartz07 replaced him) If they turn it down anyone is welcome to replace them. I'd like to expand OATTA so if you know of anyone who is looking to join just tell them to ask. Hurry and claim your tourney position because they will go fast (after all we are the number two tourney on fannation.) =)
The seeding will go by win precentage. There will be one bracket so it will be 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 etc. Before we begin each round we will make a topic pool. Everyone can suggest topics but will take the best 9 for each round. The higher seed has the intiative. For example, the one seed can decide if he wants to select a topic out of the topic pool or let his/her opponent pick and wait and decide which side he would like argue. Lets say he decides to pick a topic and he choose baseball is better than soccer. Then his lower seed opponent gets to decide which side he wants to defend, side A (soccer) or side B (baseball). Then the lower seed makes the first arguement, then higher, then lower etc. Then we each matchup the same way untill there is two topics left for the 7 vs 8 matchup. All this will be predetermined before each round. Once the round one is over we re-seed. For example remaining highest seed vs remaining lowest seed. Then 2nd highest remaining seed vs 2nd lowest remaining seed etc. Then we will decide 5 topics out of a new topic pool. Then for the next round will will determine 3. But for the finals the group will vote on one topic. The higher seed will determine which side but also has to argue first.
