NCAA Basketball Tourney - A discussion!

They don't need to do any extra work to hype it if it's really that good.  For the record I think MOST of sports is overhyped.  Super Bowl and NCAA Tourney Time being the biggest culprits.  If you go back 5 years, you'll see what I mean... the Tourney was still great for BBall fans, but there was less of the 24/7 crush.  It's not the Tourney itself that ultimately is to blame, but this insane news cycle that doesn't end.

Help! I'm drowning!

Arrrrrgh, two more weekends of this?  Really?

I know it's like farting in the wind, but I am so tired of this 'madness'.  It's overhyped, poorly officiated, and one or another group of fans is going to be shouting in outrage over something or other.  Goodness gracious people, it's a SPORTING EVENT.  Treat it as such, all this ravenous feeding frenzy is just stupid, save it for stuff that really matters and take the time to enjoy the competition instead.

Okay, I get it...

It's March Madness time.  Yay.  Woo fricken' who.  I get that it's a big deal to a lot of people, but seriously HYPE needs to die.  I don't even like Hype for sporting events that matter to me, like the Super Bowl.  How many experts do we have to have dissect the same 64 team bracket in a 4 hour span on radio?  I mean gorramit people... we'll find out who wins or loses soon enough!  What the flipping hell!

Darcy Regier Must Go

The Buffalo Sabres are 2 players away from being great again.  We need a top defenseman (Which we just traded away) and a top flight leader guy (Why oh why is Drury in New York?)

Why am I stating the same thing that we Sabres fans have been kvetching about all along?  Because it needs to be repeated, shouted from the rooftops, emailed to any sabres address possible until something is done.  Darcy Regier has cautioned this franchise right into a corner.  We should have had a deal with Drury, and we should have had a deal with Campbell.  There is no negotiation on either of these points any longer, as far as I'm concerned.

Hockey - The Greatest Game

I'm not going to make some big rant against all the Hockey bashers, or try and change anyone's mind.  I know, and people like me know that Hockey is perhaps the best spectator sport out there - it doesn't translate well to TV, certainly, and in this era people seem to equate that to being irrelevant.  It's too bad, though to be honest I don't -want- someone whose not willing to make the effort to find Hockey and watch Hockey, because the one thing I've seen of the other sports is 'Casual' spectators (I'm not going to call them fans, because FAN by it's definition cannot be casual) have ruined the experience.  It's why I'll never set foot inside an NFL stadium again - with a couple VERY extenuating circumstances.  Most people I've encountered at those events care about getting drunk and being ****holes more than they do the game.  I've never had a negative experience in an NHL arena, and I've been to about half of them in my lifetime.
