Bhoys Fight Back as Rangers Slip

Celtic won again last Saturday, beating Motherwell 2-1 off late goals from Scott McDonald and Georgios Samaras, while Rangers drew with Hibernian 0-0 on Sunday, giving Celtic a 7 point lead with 3 games in hand over Rangers.

Though coming into their match against Motherwell on Saturday eight points up in first place, Celtic needed another win in order to hold off any remaining surges from Rangers.

Hoops fans held their breath as Bobo Balde took the Central Defender role for injured captain Stephen McManus in a must win game against a good Motherwell squad.

Hail! Hail! Celts Win Again!

Glasgow Celtic has defeated Rangers 3-2 for the second Old Firm win in 10 days. The Hoops are now ahead of Rangers by five points in the SPL race.

Today's win, though not as convincing as last weeks 2-1 victory, ended in a 3-2 win in front of a frenzied Parkhead crowd that saw Scott McDonald score twice and Barry Robson net from the spot in a contreversial fashion.

Celtic immediately left their mark when Scott McDonald helped the Bhoys to a 1-0 lead, though he seemed to be offside before he recieved a header from Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to put the ball in the back of the net.

Gordon On the Line?

We've all witnessed Celtic's struggles for a trophy this season. We've seen them fight hard and beat the likes of AC Milan and Shakhtar Dontesk in the dying seconds of the match, only to be put down by Barcelona in the Final 16.

We saw Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink equalize for the Celts in the 90th minute to force a replay in the Scottish Cup quarterfinals, only to lose 1-0 to Aberdeen in the replay at Celtic Park.

We saw Celtic fight courageously against Rangers, with the season on the line, and see Big Jan score in injury time to put Celtic up 2-1 over the Gers.

Celtic Back On Top

Celtic continued their good form today with a 1-0 vitory over Aberdeen today. The Bhoys are now in first place in the Scottish Premier, two points ahead of Rangers, who have played three games less.

Celtic's lineup looked very different compared to their win against Rangers last Wednesday, with Gary Caldwell suspended and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Paul Hartley both injured. In their places were Bobo Balde, who made his first return to the starting XI to the delight of many fans, Georgios Samaras and Massimo Donati.

Unbelievable

Celtic, in desperate need of a win over rivals Rangers in their chase for the SPL title, came out dynamically against the Glasgow rivals today. Possibly the most important game of the season, Celtic needed to come out strong and work for a full 90 minutes with each player giving a full out amazing effort.

And they did.

Celtic stormed out the gate and immediately took control of the game in front of a sold out crowd at Celtic Park, and after 20 minutes the Bhoys capitalized with an amazing goal from Shunsuke Nakamura.
