Lampard Mired In Rumors

CHELSEA FC FAN'S : THURSDAY JULY 10,2008  I wanted to take a moment this evening to address a concern that's really starting to frey the nerves of our Chelsea faithful. The subject of this concern is Frank Lampard. To anyone paying even the slightest bit of attention, you've noticed that the Lampard transfer rumors have been a day in day out media extravaganza of sorts thoughout the last couple of months. I think it's a safe bet to assume that everyone is getting tired of all the nonesense. I saw an article on Fannation Truth & Rumors today that went as far as to suggest that Lampard is prepared to buy out the remainder of his current contract with Chelsea... http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/57281

Chelsea Set To Begin Negotiations For Kaka

CHELSEA FC FAN'S GROUP : SUNDAY JULY 6, 2008  As we close in on the EPL'S season opener at Stamford Bridge slated for Saturday August 16th against Portsmouth, verious transfer rumors are still circulating. I'll keep everyone up to date on what becomes official. As of today Didier Drogba is still with Chelsea. As most of you have heard he's seeking a transfer to Inter Milan and yet another chance to play under former Chelsea Coach Jose Mourinho. In my last group blog two days ago, I said the same of Frank Lampard. There are alot of soccer fans that thrive off the rumor mill. Some people just love a good rumor, but I've never been one of those people. My reasoning for this comes from taking a good close look at where Chelsea was at the beggining of this decade compared to where it is today. I always have those two nagging questions in the back of my mind....Can Chelsea really get any better? (and)  Can Chelsea stay as good as they already are? The only answer I can offer myself, is to keep moving forward. Always remembering that the "time capsol" is a pill that has already been swollowed. Being content in last season's success only leaves us with an empty glass, so we keep moving forward.

Chelsea Signs Deco As Lampard Prepares For Transfer

CHELSEA FC FAN'S GROUP : FRIDAY JULY 4,2008 Tuesday July 1st marked the official appointment of Luiz Felipe Scolari as the new coach at Stamford Bridge. Scolari was chosen as the successor to Manager Avram Grant who was released by Chelsea on May 24, 2008 following the Blues Champions League Final loss to rival Manchester United. Grant had also guided Chelsea to a second place finish in the English Premier League on the last day of the 2007-08 season. One of those moments that will be forever etched in our minds is that of Captain John Terry's failed Free Kick in added time on a soggy pitch in Moscow's Luzhiniki Stadium. Terry's kick erroneously hit the right post in the waining minutes of the match in what is remembered as one of the Champions League's most heart wrenching endings in recent memory. Chelsea returned to London without a trophy and Grant returned without a job.

THE SCOLARI ERA BEGINS : To coincide with Scolari's arrival at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, the biggest news of the week came from Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain Monday afternoon as the word came fourth that Anderson Lois(Deco) de Souza has decided to leave Barcelona FC and has signed a contract to play for Chesea in 2008-09. Deco was riddled with injuries last season and scored only 1 goal in 28 matches in his worst season as a pro. Deco was jeered by Barcelona fans in the teams last home appearance in the Spanish League, leading to his decision to begin negotiations with other clubs. Chelsea was quick to take the bait in hopes of filling the void of an attacking midfielder. A position that will almost certainly be left vacant as Frank Lampard prepares for a transfer to Inter Milan and a reunion with former coach Jose Mourinho.

GERMANY vs SPAIN

VIENNA, Austria - Germany captain Michael Ballack missed his team's last practice Saturday because of a calf injury, putting him in doubt for Sunday's European Championship final against Spain. The German soccer federation said Ballack hurt his right calf Friday and did not train that day either, adding that he was receiving treatment at the team hotel. No other details were immediately available; Friday's practice was not open to the media.

Michael Ballack to End Career at Chelsea

Germany captain Michael Ballack admits Chelsea may be his last club as a professional footballer. The 31-year-old has one year left to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and he revealed he would be happy to negotiate an extension that would take him into the twilight of his career. After joining Chelsea from Bayern Munich on a free transfer in the summer of 2006, Ballack had looked set to leave the club after just one season following the souring of his relationship with former boss Jose Mourinho. But, the departure of the Portuguese combined with a return to fitness provoked a changed mood in the German, which was reflected in his impressive late-season form as he became a key figure in the Blues' run to the Champions League final.
