Caleb Campbell

Not to knock the Army or anything because without them a lot of us would probably not be here right now, but I think what happened to Caleb Campbell was unfortunate. I mean he would have started training camp today, but instead he must report for Iraq or Afghanistan. Don't get me wrong, he knew what he was getting into when he signed up for Army, but I do not think the Army should have changed their rule. I think the Army will get some unwanted publicity for this because of the sudden change. However, I think that this will not be Campbell's last chance to play in the NFL, Roger Staubach and David Robinson both took time away from their sport to serve, and both had wonderful careers. I really hope that he will get another chance although it might seem unlikely since he was a 7th round pick. Staubach won the Heisman and Robinson was the first pick in the draft, so they were both given the benefit of the doubt. So good luck Caleb Campbell, you're doing a wonderful thing protecting our country, and I think I speak for all of us at FanNation when I say we are proud of you. I hope you'll still get a chance to return to the NFL

Pats on ESPNEWS

I was watching ESPNews and I saw on their ticker that they have a section just for "PATRIOTS" on the ticker...I don't know what's up with that...yeah their 12-0 as of now & Randy Moss is one of my favorite players (Vikes fan here) but i don't think they should get their own spot on the ESPNews ticker!! The Colts didn't get their own ticker in 05, with all due respect to the Pats, since when does ESPN think the Pats are so good to have their own spot?? It's like they've already crowned them better than the NFL, yeah the Patriots haven't lost so that does make them the best IN the NFL but ESPN is stupid to put the Pats all by themselves, and this has been on since yesterday....I thought this was wack...Share your thoughts...

Is The BCS Really Fair?

I don't really think that the BCS is that fair, especially after learning who's in and who's out...Hawaii for one...I know a lot of people think yeah if they get a chance, they'll get blown out...But who's to say that for sure...Hawaii didn't play any of the BCS teams so far and everytime a WAC team plays a good team, they do extremely well... Event though Hawaii isn't nationally acclaimed, I think they should have the right to be blown out after the went undefeated...Also I don't think that Georgia should be ranked over USC...USC is the much better team and they're where they are now because of some bad breaks...They lost to Stanford by one point and some bad playcalling and to Oregon...Now say they won the Stanford game, they'd probably be #2...I think except for USC and Hawaii, they got it right...Maybe Oklahoma should be higher cuz they beat the #1 team...I don't like the BCS @ all...I think they should have a playoff system and shouldn't rely on rankings because they are partial to certain colleges...ahem...Notre Dame...if Notre Dame didn't have that rep...they wouldn't be playing in ANY kind of bowl...But that's that and there's nothing I can do about...But a playoff system would be great....Look @ college basketball, it is the second most watched sports event behind the Super Bowl...Why? Cuz every team has a chance and people are most likely gonna have their team in that playoff...

Red Sox

Is it just me or is it every time the red sox are counted out, they end up delivering. In 04 and this year the red sox have been forgotten by people everywhere and they came back. And Schilling again came back to pitch amazingly just like in 04. I'm not sayin the rockies have no chance, but fate is on the red sox's side...this season reminds me so much of the 2004 season and if things go the same way, the bosox will have their 2nd championship in 3 years after not having one for 86...Once they got past the damn curse, the floodgates just opened didn't they...

Should Vick Get Another Chance?

After Vi ck pleads guilty next week, he will no doubtedly be suspended from the NFL maybe even banned. But I have two question...After Vick serves his sentence both in prison & in the NFL, does he deserve another chance to play? And Two, if he does come back will he still have enough talent to play in the NFL. I have heard that Vick will receive a sentence anywhere from 12 months to 5 years. Say it is five years...Vick will be in his 30's and that is the age when running backs & rushing quarterbacks lose their edge...I've heard talk about that when Vick comes back some teams might convert him to running back...Either way according to history, Vick will be on the decline when he returns after not even touching a football for a good amount of time...I agree that what Vick did was inhumane by killing dogs, but should he be let back in the NFL?..I think if he somehow still has the ability that he did for the past few years, teams will want him...So does he deserve another chance?
