NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE OR WIN.
Entry Period: The Game of the Week Contest (“Contest”) begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on 8/25/08 and ends at 11:59 PM (ET) on 12/28/08 (“Contest Entry Period”). There will be eighteen (18) Weekly Competition Periods and one (1) Grand Prize Competition during the Contest Entry Period. Each Weekly Competition Period begins on Monday at 12:01 AM (ET) and ends on the succeeding Sunday at 11:59 PM ET.
Eligibility: Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and Canada (except residents who reside in the province of Quebec) who are members of FanNation.com and are 18 years or older at time of entry. Employees of Sports Illustrated, a Division of Time Inc., (the “Sponsor”), FanNation, Brinker International, Inc., d.b.a Chili’s, their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, consultants, advertising and Contest agencies, retailers, distributors, and any other individual or company involved in the development or execution of the Contest, and members of their immediate families (parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses) and same households of each, whether or not related, are not eligible to play or win. All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. Contest is void in the province of Quebec and where prohibited by law.
Description of the Contest: The Game of the Week Contest is a free skill competition. There is no purchase necessary to participate or win. Each contestant (referred herein as “Contestant” or “you”) will be required to forecast the answers to questions on games between professional and/or college football teams identified by Sponsor on the Making Picks roster for the applicable Weekly Competition Period (refer to the “Making Picks” section within these Official Rules for additional details).
How to Enter: To enter, visit www.si.com/gowchallenge and complete the online registration located in the Game of the Week Contest section. Upon registering, you will receive a User ID. You cannot enter in this Contest without a valid User ID. You may only register once for the Contest. Limit: One entry per User ID per Weekly Competition. If a Contestant submits more than one entry, the last valid entry received will be used and all prior entries from that Contestant will be disqualified for that Weekly Competition. Once registered, you may enter the Contest by forecasting the answers to questions on games identified in the Matching Picks section. Selections will include both Professional and/or Colleges football teams and games. You may change your picks at any time up to ten (10) minutes prior to the kick-off (i.e., start) of the first game to be played for each applicable weekend. After that time, your picks will be locked and cannot be changed.
For purposes of these Official Rules, "receipt" of an entry occurs when Fannation.com’s server records the entry information resulting from Contestant clicking the "Submit Entry" button for a given Weekly Competition. Any automated computer receipt (such as one confirming delivery of entry) does not constitute proof of actual receipt by Fannation.com. Any entry that is incomplete, late, or does not include a valid issued User ID will be disqualified. All entries and requests become Sponsor’s property and will not be returned or acknowledged.
Making Picks: Every Tuesday during the Contest Entry Period, a list of Professional and/or College football games to be played on the following weekend will be provided at www.si.com/gowchallenge. To choose an answer to a question, Contestant must select a check box next to the choice he or she thinks will happen based on the match up provided. You must also enter your prediction for the three weekly tiebreakers. Once the Contestant has selected all his or her picks and made the predictions, the Contestant must click on Save Picks to save the picks. To be eligible to win a Weekly Competition Prize, your Weekly Competition entry must be received during the applicable Weekly Competition Period at least ten (10) minutes prior to the kick-off (i.e. start) of the first game to be played for each applicable weekend. You will be able to make or change your picks up to ten (10) minutes prior to the kick-off (i.e., start) of the first game to be played for each applicable weekend. After that time, your picks will be locked and cannot be changed.
Scoring: Each Contestant will be awarded points for each correct pick received during an applicable Weekly Competition Period. Each correct pick will receive 1 point. No points will be awarded for an incorrect pick or if a game is postponed or cancelled (for any reason). The maximum number of points that can be earned for each Weekly Competition Period will depend on the number of games chosen for that week.
Prize Level Criterion: One (1) Grand Prize Winner: The eligible registered Contestant who earns the most total points during the entire Contest Entry Period will be declared as the Grand Prize Winner (subject to verification). In the event of a tie at the Grand prize level, the contestant who earned the highest point total in Week 18 will be declared as the Grand Prize Winner. If still tied, the contestant who earned the highest point total in Week 17 will be declared as the Grand Prize Winner. In case of a further tie, the contestant who earned the highest point total in Week 16 will be declared as the Grand Prize Winner. The tie-breaker will continue in the above fashion until the tie is broken. There will be eighteen (18) Weekly Competition Prizes: The eligible registered Contestant who earns the most points for the applicable Weekly Competition Period will be declared that competition’s Weekly Prize winner (subject to verification). In the event of a “tie” at the Weekly prize level (where more than one contestant has correctly picked all the answers to that week’s games; or if no contestant picked the correct answers; or more than one contestant has the highest number of correct answers picked), the winner will be determined via tie-breaker questions that correspond to the last game within each Weekly Competition Period. In the event of a tie, the winner (subject to verification), will be determined based on which tied contestant is closest to the home team score. In the event of a further tie, the winner (subject to verification), will be determined based on which tied contestant is closest to the away team score. In the event of a further tie, the winner (subject to verification), will be determined based on which tied contestant is closest to the combined number of first downs in the final game of the Weekly Competition Period the tied entries originated.
