"The Mile High Club" aka. Denver Broncos Fan Group

The Chiefs and Chargers had no problem returning kickoffs for big gains on the Broncos, I'm not disputing that Prater has a strong leg,but the rest of the special teams need to be playmakers...
hard to get a turnover when Prater is kicking everything out of the endzone.... Gruden even said after the game that working on kick returns before a game w Denver was pointless b/c Prater's leg is just too strong to even think you are going to return anything.
BSchwartz07 10/06/08
The special teams are nothing "special", we need a few points from them too. A return for a TD would be nice, how about a couple of strips for turnovers from the other teams?
what's wrong w the special teams?

Royal would be a great return man if he wasn't so valuable as a WR, and Prater has some AMAZING leg strength.
BSchwartz07 10/06/08
With the "D" finally showing signs of life and the offense carrying the team, We need the special teams to show some improvements also!
D-FENSE!!!!!

Great teams keep finding ways to win, getting to the point that this team may make that step.
BSchwartz07 10/05/08
Let's hope it's the second one. I'm getting tired of the defense being horrible. I'm still not getting used to it, and never will. One of these days, hopefully, we'll have the right defensive scheme for our defense. It's just been an embarrassment so far.
This weekend Brian Griese comes back to haunt his old team, will his career be resurrected? or dead on arrival?
Shanahan knew what he was doing with Travis Henry:

Who beat the Broncos today? The Cheifs or the Broncos?
Royal W/cheese and All Bronco fans across the Web! all of you can read all the daily articles from the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News by subscribing to the daily@milehighsportsmagazine.com just a little tip from me...
MUST READ:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3611677
I wish I could read those articles, and I can't help but be negative. I live in Cleveland, the town of negativity.
Royale WCheese don't be negative about good feedback from the local media, I know Jim Armstrong and he's no homer. He's exactly the opposite of a homer, he's a very good writer that will and does criticize the Broncos when they deserve it. i hear what your saying and we'll reserve judgement on the season 'till further into it.
Well, doesn't he work for the DENVER Post. I know he's a pro writer and blah blah, but still. Bill Williamson is a great writer for ESPN I read his articles all the time. But then I found that he used to work for the Denver Post, I stopped reading because, honestly, I don't want a hint of homerness from ESPN articles. Those articles are supposed to be written by people all over. I'd rather have someone from Chicago or somewhere to write about Denver, you're more likely to get more of a national perspective on things. That's just my take.
Jim Armstrong of the Denver Post agrees with me about the Broncos being the best 3-0 team in the NFL, he has them as the SuperBowl favorite from the AFC!!!
i don't know what happened with Abdullah, I didn't see him play that much and when i did see him he was always out of position wether in pass coverage or run support!
Sad news, Tom Nalen was placed on Injured reserved which means he has probably played his last game in the NFL. Also, The Broncos signed Vernon Fox and released Hamza Abdullah. I'm not quite sure what to think of the release, I don't get a chance to watch the Broncos since I live in Ohio without Direct TV, was he a problem in the secondary? I mostly saw Marquan Manuel getting burned all the time. Am I wrong?
Yea. I'm PISSED about the D, but I'm s happy we're 3-0 and first in the NFL.
EVERYBODY, take a look at Peter King's MMQB, usually not the best read in the world, BUT the second page is a nice piece on how the Broncos make thier offensive play calls.
BSchwartz07 09/22/08
THANK YOU AALS!!! You just said what I was yelling at the TV the entire game. We need to use these fast OLB's and trust the CB's to bring the coverage up closer to the line.
BSchwartz07 09/22/08
we gotta shore up that "D", before making any plans for the playoffs and beyond. the 3 man pass rush killed us and who plays prevent defense in the first half?
Good point guys. Loveland, i also recognized that since we do play the Saints this week. Reggie Bush is just a WR in the back field. He's not at all a running back, in fact a wide receiver WOULD be a better HB than Reggie Bush. And that is a knock on him. You shouldn't be a starting running back if you can't run the ball.
One thing about Bronco teams of the past is that they always play at the level of their competition, whether good or bad teams. let's hope they leave that habit behind them and play offense like they have for the last two weeks and their defense can step up and slow down a good NO offense.
Weak*....Sorry
Loveland310 09/17/08
What San Diego showed is, though, is something I am afraid of for the coming week. We are week against the screen pass to a Runningback with above average agility...I think NO has a runningback who plays the screen well and has a LITTLE agility..I just can't remember his name....If we can take away the screen passing game I'm confident we won't see a shootout like last week. We'll still see NO score 17-21 points this week, but we will also see another great game for Cutler. what I'm waiting to see out of our WR's and what NO proved week against is I want to see an absolute bomb thrown to Marshall or Royal for like 70 yards...like the one Cutler threw to Walker against the Cardinals 2 years ago...I'll be looking for it
Loveland310 09/17/08
Yeah Royal will fit in nicely. Although DeSean hasn't been just sitting there doin nothing for the eagles--he's just an idiot. I think our offense will consistently put up points this year I can't wait to see them against a crappy NO Defense....
--I'm not worried so much about the D...we gave up garbage points/yards to Oakland, and the Chargers are a great offense, and we held their running game very well....
Loveland310 09/17/08
My bad guys. Seattle got Kolbert and reacquired Robinson. The Broncos got a conditional 2009 pick.
I also heard that the Broncos will get a 2009 conditional draft pick.
Speaking of wide receivers, the Broncos just traded away Keary Colbert to get Koren Robinson.
Yeah BS, I for one am glad to see Eddie Royal as a Bronco instead of Desean Jackson. Which is a complete reversal from before the Draft!
Well if we had any doubts about Royal over Jackson I think last night showed that Shanahan made the right call.
BSchwartz07 09/16/08
I put the fire mike shanahan group on the inactive list! I can't delete it or eliminate it in this "New Fan Nation", but no one else can post or manage it anymore.
Good for you AALS.

And I hate how the Chargers are blaming just the ref for their loss. The Broncos basically asked if they wanted the win. The ran a draw on 3rd down, then on 4th, Cutler had all fricking day to throw the ball, and they let us get the 2 point conversion. Norv, its ur own damn fault.
AALS has come around... so I'm hoping that fire Shanny group is history.....
BSchwartz07 09/15/08
O.K. guys, I voted for Shanahan as the M.V.P. of the game for the above poll! Why, because Shanny is finally back from his hiatus/vacation. This is the same type of playcalling that took us to the Superbowl and won us two championships...
Eddie Royal and Mike Shanahan and Jay Cutler and Tony Sheffler and Brandon Marshall. Boy oh boy. What a great game. (still scared about the defense)
Hey I just posted a blog with the top 10 reasons why the Raiders suck.

BREAKING NEWS:

Former Broncos great, Al Wilson has sadly announced his retirement.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3579956
Only saw the first half of the game. Since I'm on the East Coast, I passed out after the half. But I was really proud to see them kick the Raiders ****. I'm excited to see the offense play again. but I'm still a little hesitant to watch the defense. Hopefully they can hold up the Chargers. But for these next few days, let's enjoy this win.
O.K. loveland, go ahead and "Toot", good job on that prediction...
And I'm not looking for credit or anything...BUT...will someone please look back when we were talking drafts and see who said "We gotta get Eddie Royal from VT" when we were talking about prospects...I don't want to toot my own horn but...leading WR after week 1 as a rookie...Guess Shanny doesn't have a eye for talent, it was all Sundquist who made the great picks
Loveland310 09/09/08
Could we ask for anything more Fellas? We had to endure those punishments from SD last year to get ready for this...Let's not get ahead of ourselves--this was a the Raiders...But answer me this--what will Royal do when he isn't the WR being focussed on by opposing team's CB's? Marshall is still the man, but it seems that the Broncos FINALLY HAVE A WR CORPE!!!!
Loveland310 09/09/08
HOW BOUT THOSE BRONCOS!!!!!!!
BSchwartz07 09/09/08
I saw the last minute of that Chargers game; best minute of football I've seen in a while.
How about them San Diego Chokers? The Pariots are no longer to be feared without Brady. Manning and the Colts are not clicking yet. Is this a Golden Opportunity or what for the Broncos?
Thanks for the notion BS. I heard they were trying to do something, but I thought it wouldn't be til the bye week or something.
This just in... DJ Williams signed a 5 year extension!!!!

Good to see us locking up some talent, love DJ and I am SOOOO happy to see that he is NOT going anywhere....

here is the article...
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3573412
BSchwartz07 09/07/08
Haha. "The argument could be made that Cutler's is one of the best quarterback classes." That's funny.

Anyway, the votes are in, and your 2008 Broncos Captains are.....

Champ Bailey, And Jay Cutler, for the second year. They will be joined by first-timers, Daniel Graham, D.J. Williams, and Mike Leach.
biggest homer article yet....

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/sep/04/lincicome-for-starters-cutlers-already-ahead/
BSchwartz07 09/05/08
The Broncos waive Cecil Sapp, and our going to look toward FB Peyton Hillis, and LINEBACKER Spencer Larsen.
THIS JUST IN! According to Paul Lucas on Page 2 of ESPN.com, the Bronco's home games on September 21 and December 7, the Broncos will sadly bring back their orange jerseys that they haven't worn since '04 vs. the Raiders. Note: the Broncos have never won wearing their orange jerseys.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=lukas/080904
Read this, it just screams out class, and gives thanks to Dominique for all of his help in the community of Denver:

http://blog.denverbroncos.com/community/2008/09/03/a-denver-broncos-community-salute-to-domonique-foxworth/
Speaking of former Broncos, Tatum Bell was released by the Lions to make room for Rudi Johnson, who John Clayton said the Broncos would sign. Oooo the irony.
So Foxworth goes to Atlanta for a 7th which COULD upgrade to a 6th if he signs an extension.

The report said that there were around 15 teams interested.... and that was the best offer? REALLY???

Best of luck to Foxy, I actually hope he does well in Atlanta.
BSchwartz07 09/02/08
In all seriouness, I will miss "Foxy",but the teams needs more speed on the defensive side which Jack Williams provides like Royale w/ cheese said earlier..
Yeah BS, don't be surprised if the Raiders sign Marcus Nash from the AFL...LOL I just say that 'cause I played flag football with a guy who now plays for the "Crush"...
yeah I saw the Lelie to Oakland deal... Starting to think that Shanny is somehow making the admin moves for the Raiders..... Do they not see how bad these guys sucked in Denver?
BSchwartz07 09/01/08
Wow, even moe news from the NFL, Ahley Lelie and the Raiders agree on a one year deal. We allknow what 2 games he's looking forward to this season. Also, ESPN report that the Broncos are seeking to trade Foxy. My take, as much as I love this guy as a person and as driven as he is, from what I've seen from the preseason is that it is a good move to move him so we can make room for Jack Williams, who in my opinion had a better training camp and preseason than Dominique. I really like Foxworth, and if he does get traded, I hope it's not to the Patriots, Chargers, Cheifs, or Chargers.
Another thing I would like to say is that I wish someone other than Bill Williamson on ESPN would do a story on the Broncos. It's not that he's bad or anything it's just that, he did work for the Rocky Mountain news if I'm not mistaken, so I can't help but think I'm reading a homerist local newspaper.
Well, if he can say something positive about Jay, then I want to give some advice to him. I really don' think he should play this year. And I'm not saying this because he's a very hated rival, I would say this if D.J. had this problem. He's risking his career and will most likely suffer from this after his career in football.
Merriman and the Chargers talking about the Broncos in this article... but not the way you think, they say that he is about to become an elite QB.... weird

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/preview08/columns/story?columnist=williamson_bill&id=3549039
BSchwartz07 09/01/08
I'm just glad they kept Hackney on the Practice squad, thank God.
Ramsey isn't THAT awful... from what I have read he has worked wonders with Cutler behind the scenes. Let's hope that the #2 QB position is trivial by the end of the season anyway.
BSchwartz07 09/01/08
This just in: The Patriots have released John Lynch on cut day. How bout that. John Lynch is cut, but not Patrick Ramsey.
Ok, looks like we're going to have to put up with Patrick Ramsey for one more year.
BLOG IS UP!!!
BSchwartz07 08/29/08
Great news Royalw/cheese, now all we have to do is beat the Raiders for the season opener and Brandon comes back against the San Diego Chokers...
BREAKING NEWS! BRANDON MARSHALL'S SUSPENSION WAS CUT TO ONE GAME!!!!!!
blog is done, but for some reason I can't post it from work.

Got TONS to do today, so I'll post it sometime tom.
BSchwartz07 08/28/08
I'd never do that AALS
BSchwartz07 08/28/08
Hey BS, sounds great if you can keep that promise to write and be more active for the group. Don't make your initials stand for the other kind of BS...
AALS, idk what will happen to Kouto, but I do hope he stays on the team. You can bet he's real down right now. He just went from backing up Lofa Tatupu, one of the best Backers in the league, to backing up Nate Webster. That sucks.

As for you BS, that sounds great. The best news I've heard in a while.
ok guys, know I haven't been around too often of late, but I'm coming back.

To make it up to everyone I'm working on a BS7 that just on the Broncos. Should be up in the next day or so.
BSchwartz07 08/27/08
Niko Koutouvides loses starting middle linebacking position to Nate Webster! Wow, what's gonna happen to Niko now?
Hey guys, i just realized that "Royale With Cheese" as a nickname for Eddie fits perfectly. Know why? 'cause it has been used before including Elway4prez on the "Mile High Report" and Eddie Royal fans from college too...
This guy "Royal" is so good he expects to start at wide receiver, but at the same time he's very humble too...
Man, how about Eddie Royal? He's surprising a lot of people, including me, in being one of our assets at wide receiver.
New name for Lynch? in honor of Eddie Royal, how about "Royale With Cheese"? Pulp Fiction reference...
Sweet, I'll be looking forward to that. I will also be looking for the perfect new name for myself. Elvis may just be temporary, unless I can't find anything better.
I'll be writing a blog here on the weekend, so look for it!
Sorry to hear you're gonna change your username Lynch, but D-Will or a variation there of is a good tribute to our fallen hero.
Very sad news today that I have just found out. John Lynch has signed with the Patriots. My feeling is that I'm pissed and that this is some horse ****. I know he was a great player for us and all that, but this is worse than if he were to sign with the Chargers, since it is his hometown. Guys, expect a name change from me in a few days.
You guys will never guess who I saw walking at City Park yesterday afternoon! Anybody?... Well, it was the comedian "Josh Blue" He was walking with another guy and pushing a baby stroller...Not sports related, but interesting.
Yes, yes I do. I don't really have much concern for the offense, but boy o boy, the defense best shape up. from the clips I saw, this is not the way this D is supposed to be playing. I had expectations that they could be an elite D in the league, and they're making me lower my expectations. This is a rare case of the preseason games actually helping. We really need to practice some more because this defense has put fear into me that they won't be better than last year.
I know it's only preseason, but the Broncos don't look good so far. Anybody have any concerns regarding any part of the team?
BREAKING NEWS: Now, I know this isn't sports related, but I figured this should touch home with everyone. Bernie Mac has died at the age of 50. Details below.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080809/ap_on_en_mo/obit_bernie_mac
O, by the way, the record is 554 yards set by Norm Van Brocklin against the New York Yanks in 1951.
I hope so. O, and since we were talking about bold predictions last week, I've got another one: On November 6, 2008, Jay Cutler will break the single game passing yards record. Opponent? The Cleveland Browns. I have come up with this assumption after I went to see their preseason game against the Jets. Holy ****. Everyone in Cleveland knew the DB's were shaky, but after seeing last night, I am pumped to see Jay Cutler and the WR's burn them all night long. If that was a real game, the Jets would've passed on every single play. They are so bad that Tom Nalen could go out for a pass and burn the backs. And on top of it all, as we speak, I am listening to a sports talk radio, and the fans here and the media do not think it is a problem at all. They are in for a surprise because from what I saw last nigh, this is the worst DB corps I have ever seen. Ok starters, with the worst depth in the NFL. Just Terrible.
Did you guys catch the interview on the local SportsTalk station 104.3FM the fan? Mike Shanahan all but "Guaranteed a Playoff berth." Sounds like a man on a mission...
INJURY ALERT:

Ryan Torain has broken his elbow and will be out 6-8 weeks.
Hey Schwartz. Long time no talk. Ok, about the Marshall suspension, I agree BS, we shouldn't have any problem with Oakland against their secondary since De'An Jello Legs Hall is overrated. But if for some reason it doesn't work, i think we can easily switch to our run game.

BUT I am soooooo pissed that he has to miss the game against the Chargers. That game is so huge, they only shoulda made the suspension 2 games. This game is so important, and Brandon won't be able to participate in it.
Breaking news! Marshall has been suspended 3 Games by the NFL.
Welcome back from the beyond Schwartzy! Anyway, I hear Eddie Royal will start in Marshall's absence. One Denver writer compares him to Rick Upchurch, remember him?
Yeah, lets hope that Marshall gets his act together after this. We should be fine against Oakland either way....

Speaking of Oakland, just saw yesterday that Javon Walker tried to retire this week but was talked out of it, this may be funny to watch. I am SOOOO Happy he isn't a bronco anymore, and I couldn't have picked a better place for that tool to play...well maybe SD
BSchwartz07 08/05/08
That's good news Lynch, I thought it would be more games...
And also from Adam Schefter reports that Marshall can reduce it to 2 games if he agrees to undergo counseling during his suspension.
BREAKING NEWS FROM ESPN: BRANDON MARSHALL WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR THE FIRST 3 GAMES OF THE REGULAR SEASON
That's a good thought. Any thought is good as long as it gets this group up and going again.
what would be a good prize for the best blogger on our group? Maybe the blogger of the week can put up his choice of "Avatar" up on the Group page for a whole week until the next one is voted on by us?
i think we have a good mix of young and old on the "D" Line, so Robertson wont have to play every down and our young players can prove they deserve playing time.
That's probably my biggest concern reguarding one player. For what Robertson is getting paid and for how injury prone he can become, the Broncos really don't need this guy becoming a bust for them.
Another positive is newly aquired DT Robertson says, " My knees are perfectly healthy and I'm gonna prove alot of nay sayers wrong."
Training camp is showing some positives for the Broncos, seems the speed of the "Defense" is way faster than last year's unit. That's one of the reasons John Lynch decided to leave, cause the team told him, " He would only play during obvious running plays".
Hey, thanks for actually voting on the poll guys. I was kinda nervous I might get a negative reaction that thats not what it's for. Anyways, yea AALS, I heard that too. That really should make a lot of people happy since not a lot of people expected him to be a decent NFL receiver, just a returner.
Lynch I would not change my name just 'cause John is no longer a Bronco. In other Camp news Eddie Royal has been wowing everyone who has attended practices, he might be a starting receiver before too long.
Yeah it sucks that we wont have John Lynch to lead this defense, but age catches up to all.

Loveland310 07/31/08
Here's some really sad news. John Lynch has decided to announce his release Thursday. But even worse, he might even go to the Chargers. I know it's his hometown team, but damn.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=txbroncoslynch&prov=st&type=lgns
Yeah, Loveland. Powell hurts the most, cause we needed his run stopping, I hope we go out and sign another Run Stopping DT, I don't know if Thomas is ready to at it fulltime. Sheppard was a long shot to crack the starting lineup...
I'm kinda upset about Powell--his expertise in college was stopping the run. Umm that was a problem for us last year...RIGHT? Haha but Yeah so do you think we look for another DT somewhere or do we hope Thomas has gained that much experience and Robertson will stay healthy?

--as for Sheppard I kinda just say "who?"...I mean was he anyone we needed, our WR depth seemed pretty quality
Loveland310 07/28/08
Well so far the first 2 days of training camp have sidelined two Broncos for the year. Carlton Powell and Edell Sheppard.
Yea, it kinda makes my poll a lot more obvious. Rod Smith isn't just one of the greatest athletes to play for the Broncos, he may be the best person to ever play for the Broncos. I mean, the situations he's been in, the injuries he's tried to overcome late in his career, I mean, no one asks him to do the great things he's done for the Broncos.
So I found this on ESPN's site today:
"Marshall was joined by his attorney and newly retired Broncos receiver Rod Smith to review the off-field issues that have plagued the receiver for the past couple of seasons. Though he has yet to be convicted of any crime, he has been arrested and ticketed numerous times, which could lead to a suspension under the league's conduct policy. A decision from the commissioner's office is expected next week as to whether Marshall will be suspended, and if so, how long it will be."

--Now the Marshall situation has been talked about to death, so I want to focus on this: Can you BELIEVE what a stand up guy Rod Smith is? He traveled to help defend Marshall and speak to Goodell. This man means so much to this team, I just pray he will stay with Denver to mentor the players--WE NEED HIM
Loveland310 07/24/08
Rod Smith is set to retire Thursday and will announce it at a press conference:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-broncos-smith&prov=ap&type=lgns
I agree AALS, I think he was let go because Mike was giving him the ability to use his talent (which he has) to play somewhere else. But like Lynch said, I just woulda liked some value....everyone excited about camp!?!?!
Loveland310 07/23/08
Good points guys. I definitely think both of those are possibilities. I would've been more happier if we traded him for some value, but yea, maybe it was the right thing by letting him go.
Our backfield is loaded with Selvin Young, Ryan Torain,Hall,etc...
Maybe Mike decided to let go Bell so he could hook up with another team where he would have a chance to play.
I know the Bears had Forte but they coulda used a second RB (hence why they got Jones)...there were other teams out there
Loveland310 07/22/08
I know I have said it a lot but still, I just don't see how Mike Bell fell off the radar so badly. Could we not have traded him to a RB-needy team (like Bears before they got Kevin Jones) for ANYTHING, like 3-6th rounder?? He wasn't a fumble--happy guy. He fumbled 2 times (and lost only 1) in 163 attempts in his 2 years...So what gives? I'm not sayin he should be our starter but I think he had value we could have traded for--not just outright released
Loveland310 07/22/08
Broncos sign Kory Lichtensteiger and waive Mike Bell and Garrett Hartley.

!DUI ALERT!

Karl Paymah had been convicted of DUI in 2006 and faces a one year sentence. Here's the story:

Happy late B-Day, Lynch, sorry I missed it.

Check out my TD fannation.com/throwdowns/show/194057

It's about whether Elway is top 2 all time, not only that, he is saying Marino was better.
I think that would make Ohio news all over the place. I think I should mention that I'm only 15. I know, I sound smart.
happy b'day Lynch, I hope you don't get too messed up and a get a DUI ala B. Marshall or Carmelo Anthony, ha, ha, just joking...
Happy Birthday to me yesterday!!!
not alot to blog about if you're a Denver sports fan:( Avalanche let's go their best goalie, Carmelo is not maturing or playing defense and karl can't seem to find the right buttons to push, Rockies suck again and the Broncos haven't started training camp!
Well not a ton to blog about right now...I'd bring up a Brandon Marshall piece, but if everyone feels like me, they are sick and tired of hearing it.....I just want the facts to come out with the law--then I'll pass my judgement.
Loveland310 07/02/08
so, anyone gonna blog again?
jeevs BS 07/02/08
Yeah Lynch, Golfers are "NOT" athletes in my book, so therefore you can't make those type of comparisons!
The only way that golf is a sport is if they change the rules and allow players to tackle each other ala(Happy Gilmore) and that's the only way "I" would watch that lame so-called sport...
According to SI, Tiger is a better ATHLETE than John Elway. I beg to differ that a GOLFER is more ATHLETIC than a FOOTBALL PLAYER.
Ok. I'm watching more of this and I'm wondering if they even know what's going on during training camp.
As if they didn't need anymore motivation, here's the video of the NFL Live guys talking about the AFC West. See how they think the Broncos will do. The beginning is pretty insulting.

Javon Walker found unconscious in Vegas.
I hope Brandon Marshall has a 100 catch season in '08, but if not we have the other Brandon. Stokeley is probably the best slot receiver in the leauge. Remember guys, we have a ton of free agents and one great rookie to fill the slots and rack up the yards...
O.K. I just put up the pic of Rod Smith and my son at his elementary school in Denver last Monday, It's on my home page...
Yea, I agree. I hope I didn't imply that I hope he doesn't. But I do want to say that, if he does get 100, what does that say about the rest of the receivers? That they can't produce. We go out and get all these guys and they can't produce? To answer my own question, I think if BM gets 100, it shows how focused he was in recovering from the arm injury. It can also help the other guys by BM leading by example AND they can get inspired, from what he went threw. Now, I'm not signing he's a Jon Lester or anything, but that would be a great thing to go from a serious arm injury and being scrutinized by the press and his teammates, and still has time to focus on catching 100.
100 Catches for Marshall shouldn't be a stretch, I actually would say the he should get about 8-10 catches a game, so 100 should be EASY
BSchwartz07 06/13/08
He then goes on to say that yea, 100 balls would be nice, but he wants to spread the offense and would like everyone to contribute.
Also, in it, we have another guarantee from a Bronco: 100 catches from Brandon Marshall this season. If another one comes up, we should start a guarantees counter.
Guys, go onto denverbroncos.com and watch Brandon Marshall's interview on day 7 of the Team Camp. Watch the first 2 minutes, it's hilarious.
WOW AALS, that's good to hear. You should have told him about our group. jk.
BSchwartz07 06/10/08
Wow, I would be in awe to meet one of the Broncos.
hey guys, I just met Rod Smith and shook his hand and talked to him a little bit. I took a picture of him with my little boy. he's a cool guy and really nice too. i'll try to post the picture later on on my home page, later...
Javon Walker is being a jackass again. Here's the story:

Well, I've tried to get through all along that the media tries to think that they know everything, which everyone obviously knows about. I really don't know though, if it will be a surprise to them. Because like I always say, ESPN and others are always shocked when the Broncos do bad, yet they never pick them to win a game (exaggeration). They never talk about how much potential they have to be a great team. Last year, most of the panel said that the Broncos would not make the playoffs, yet when they did miss them, they sounded shocked. So I have no idea how the media is going to react when the season is over if we have a great year, or we do not. In my opinion, I will be shocked if we have another bad season. All of us, I think, in one way or another have seen things that we've wanted to happen so far in this offseason. But if we have another season like we did this past season, injury wise, I won't be shocked to miss the playoffs, but I will be shocked of the fact that' we'd have another unfortunate season full of injuries.
Read this quote today, thought you guys would like to see it:
"You've got teams who surprise every year," Champ Bailey says. "People are going to think we're surprising because of how good we're going to be."

To me, a mascot is a mascot that you see yourself hugging or giving a high five to. A Raider fan just makes you cry and doesn't give a **** about anyone else.
Hey guys, I was just on Broncos.com, reading Miles's blog, and, he's in a mascot battle between him and the Raider Fans. This thing is a joke, but come on, we need to support the best mascot in the NFL. You can vote on it at this website here:

Spread it out to as many people as you can.
And if you think Mike Bell has no way of getting another shot to be a productive RB then look at Mike Anderson. He was a great RB then got moved around to FB and fell back on the Depth chart and then came back a few years later to have a 1000 yard season. I don't think Mike Bell has fumbilitis like a lot of people think.
--I'm not advocating Bell become our number 1 I'm just saying we have a lot of strong RB's in our stable still
Loveland310 06/03/08
Don't forget about Ryan Torrain, Jeevs...RB is a still a deep position for Denver....And you know what, no one is gonna like this but, Mike Bell is still in the Shadows too. We still have a lot of RB's
Loveland310 06/02/08
well, lets hope selvin, hall and pittman step up
jeevs BS 06/02/08
Haha, wow, everyone is shocked.
also just so everyone knows, BigBen 68 (HUGE Redskins Fan) lost a bet to me. Check it out......

I always felt that Henry could have been HUGE in this system, BUT the guy isn't focused on football.

I think that cutting him now is the RIGHT call. It will let the other RB's work for the job now.

If there is ever something that we shouldn't worry about it's finding a new RB.
BSchwartz07 06/02/08
AALS, I may not have said it aloud, but I totally agreed with you %100, I'm extatic that he's gone, great move.
I said a long time ago that Denver would be better off without him, but everyone else disagreed with me. i guess Shanny agreed with my point of view...
Travis Henry's career as a Denver Bronco is over...I'm not sure how I feel about that

Eddie Royal has been opening some eyes at OTA'S and some veterans such as Bailey and Lynch have been impressed with him!!!
Meanwhile, here's some new info on the D-Will shooting:

Well, I've been thinking of some things to type up, but I just don't know what to do.
anyone want to do a Bronco related blog?
Capped Crusader 05/28/08
Also, from ESPN, Bill Williamson wrote a blog on Darrent Williams' legacy:

Ok, now it's official:

The Broncos are 'expected' to sign RB Michael Pittman:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Pittman-expected-to-sign-1-year-deal-with-Bronco?urn=nfl,84606
Yea, I agree. And I'll take the inexperienced young players over the old hurt players.
We basically have a youger team this year and it will take a while for the younger players to get acclimated to the speed and brutality of the NFL.
Hopefully 2 of those 10 wins are against the Chargers. I'd be really happy then.
I believe the Broncos have the team to go 10-6 this year, but they have to get lucky and also outwork the competition. All the new players on our roster have that work ethic and the attitude to win at all costs.
I'm more upset with the Power Ranking, and here's why. ESPN, for quite a while now, has been downing the Broncos, not mentioning much, not putting them with elite teams, not saying that they're not playoff bound. But when all this stuff comes true, they act surprised and asking what's happening. The real question is, What's happening with YOU, ESPN? So inconsistent, makes me so mad. As for a C+ plus draft, I wouldn't look much into that, I mean, how are they going to know how good a sixth rounder [ie. Terrell Davis] is or even a first rounder [ie. Ryan Leaf] for that matter.
Broncos get no respect from ESPN, Power Ranking of 23 and Draft Grade of C+... What do you guys think?
jeevs, I totally agree with you, and thanks for the link Loveland.
Thomas will not be charged with Cocaine possesion. So now our D-line still has a lot of potential.

thats all we need to worry about now...

our coach congregating with the worst president ever
jeevs BS 05/11/08
Yeah, Jenna Bush and Shanahan's daughter are close friends. W and Shanny became friends through their daughters
Loveland310 05/08/08
Did anyone else know that the Shanahan's and the Bush's (George W.) were friends and that the Shanahan's is going to Jenna Bush's wedding?
jeevs, if I were optimistic, I would have to call myself a homer too. Even if the Broncos were to get the shittiest players, I'd still think they'd win the SB. But your right, I don't think there is any reason not to think we can win it all. Let's just hope we don't get as many injuries as last year.
hey lets be optomistic, no one thought the giants would win last season

w got good WR's, RB's, QB, solid O-line, great secondary, good LB, suprising d-line?

i think we can win it all!

I hope the diabetes ddoesnt affect Cutler in his career though, its happened to other players and they had to get amputations
jeevs BS 05/05/08
Good point Loveland, Cutler had all those things going against him last year, and still performed well, or average. People ask me why I say Jay is better than Derek Anderson last year. Well, look at what Jay had going against him, to what D.A. had against him.
Anybody have any good discussion topics?
--I think the Cutler Diabetes thing has run it's course, it's the only thing on Broncos headlines nowadays. Sounds like Jay has got it under control and he's almost gained all his old weight back, so it's time to let this subject go...last thing I'll say about this tho is this....Jay Cutler was top 12 in Passer Rating, Top 10 in Yards, Top 13 in Pass Pct. in his first full season, when our "#1" receiver was hurt for 12 games, Our O-line was shot....and oh yeah this other minor thing--HE HAD UNTREATED TYPE 1 DIABETES...Now he'll be healthy, have a blue chip left tackle(Not to mention the best center in the game back healthy), and an entire fleet of WR's at his disposal....Cutler looks poised to have a breakout 2nd full season--I'm excited. Let's get our D-line to the QB and I believe this could be a great season...probably not Super Bowl bound but a REAL SHOT at the playoffs and hopefully disrupting someone's super bowl hopes (New England I'm looking at you)
Loveland310 05/04/08
AALS, since I live in Arizona I see the Devils games all the time. I already said Torrain was a beast. Baret was above average when healthy and he was a standout on their defense. But he has some serious injury issues. He might have potential to be our future Nickel or even starting saftey.
Yeah I read about it...I hope for his sake, firstly, that he keeps himself healthy because there is more to life than football. But at the same time I have a lot of faith in him, as a fan, and know he's a smart guy who can keep on his meds and diet/exercise routine, etc. I still see him being just as great as we all think he'll be. They just have to monitor him closely...
Loveland310 05/02/08
Guys, Cutler has type 1 diabetes:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3377828
I got a fan mail from an arizona st. fan who says that we are gonna be pleasantly surprised by the two picks from Arizona st. safety Josh Barret and Ryan Torain running back. According to him those two guys are "Monsters" who play the game the way it's supposed to be played! let's hope he's right!
Well said, E4P, Well said...
Loveland310 05/01/08
NBA refs are **** bull ****.
I take that back. Its Lynch, Loveland and me who arent in denial.
Your like the only one who isn't in denial Lynch.
"I rushed to my computer to read up on my new best friend Eddie Royal."

That's a good quote E4P. But yea, even though I know Limas is like another Brandon Marshall at best, I was still shocked out of my mind that they pick Royal over him AND Jackson.
That's only a good thing. Lets hope now we dont see champ bailey covering kick offs.
I like the depth we now have at wide receiver,O-line, linebackers and D-line. even safety and running back. Seems like we have plenty of bodies at alot of positions.
Yeah I just looked a little more at his combine stuff, he is a freak. But he isnt the best in the league.
http://www.milehighreport.com/2008/4/29/470070/a-royal-suprise
E4P, Cutler is right...Boss Bailey is a freak of nature, physically. He is quite a speciman...his problem is he just can't stay healthy...But yeah the Go Broncos part was good
Loveland310 04/29/08
I dont know what you meant by Boss being the most athletic linebacker. He's not even the most athletic on the team. (DJ or Niko).

But I have to agree with the "go broncos."
The Broncos can't be worse than last year with all that bad luck and now we have a return game along with a great LT. Boss Bailey is the most athletic LB and will be an upgrade over Ian Gold from last year. GO BRONCOS
cutler6 04/29/08
I really, really don't like Todd McShay. He hardly has a clue what he is talking about and he never seems to get anything right.

I like Kiper more than McShay which is saying a lot!
Next Year's mock draft by Todd McShay:

http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/insider/columns/story?columnist=mcshay_todd&id=3372132&action=upsell&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fnfl%2fdraft08%2finsider%2fcolumns%2fstory%3fcolumnist%3dmcshay_todd%26id%3d3372132
Erin Henderson joined his brother in Minnesota, Ali Highsmith is gone too...
Loveland310 04/28/08
Wow, that's a lot. And I'm guessing that they're not going to sign Erin Henderson.
According to the "Rocky" a few undrafted rookie free agents were added Sunday night,Tackle Tyler Polumbus,Kicker Garrett Hartley,Punter Brett Kern,Running Back Anthony Alridge who ran a 4.36 40 at the combine. Receiver Lorne Sam and guard Mitch Erickson.
Maybe we finally have a rookie kicker and punter??? Then again maybe we don't...Broncos sign 5 undrafted free agents...sounds like the WR has some promise....

http://www.milehighreport.com/2008/4/28/462163/2008-nfl-draft-denver-sign
Loveland310 04/28/08
I'll look at him later because I have to leave ow, but right now I'll just share that, in most of my research with these guys, in almost all of them, it said that they lack the size or bulk needed at their respective position. I don't have any feelings toward that, but it's just something you guys can comment on.
Lynch, read the profile our or draft class at this site:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2008/draft/teams/broncos.html
--I saw in each profile either the words "Great work ethic" "Terrific locker room character" and "Hidden Gem of Draft'...Shanahan really stuck to his guns and QUIETLY (which is unlike him) drafted quality, character players who will make an impact
Loveland310 04/27/08
First off, I am surprised, and a little disappointed that Shanahan didn't move at all. Second, I'm relieved because we have a chance to at least look at Erin Henderson a little bit more.
And didn't we hear that a certain ALI HIGHSMITH was a late first or 2nd round talent at linebacker from BSCHWARTZ??? turns out when he was on our poll in the 4th round was being a little optimistic haha...

--haha i'm just bustin your balls Schwartzy, givin u a hard time
Loveland310 04/27/08
No one drafted Erin Henderson...so whatever Denver though, everyone else in the league thought too....he still has a chance to
