Yeah......that was the first year in AZ, and all their games were still broadcast back to STL, so I could still see them.

I KNEW we were going to the playoffs that year until Lomax got hurt......man that was painful. Cliff Stoudt took over and we went 0-5.

That was a great team that fell apart after the injury. Stump Mitchell, JT Smith, Roy.....all those guys......man, I loved Lomax. Gene Stallings was the coach then......ah the memories......

Thats awesome Rings you are the best I love when you get mean, the think I remember was the next year we were 7-4 and in 1st place in the East then came Neil(portland St) Lomax injury, we were never the same after that

Yeah, it's nostalgia week.....talking about Bidwill got me thinking back to the 1980's......and I realized that it's been 25 years since the Cards very good 1984 season when they just missed the division title on the last day of the year. As a fan, it remains one of the most painful losses I ever watched.

If you don't recall exactly, the Cards were in Washington on the last day of the year. Trailing big at halftime, Lomax and Green led a ferocious comeback to put the Cards up by two late in the game. The 'Skins drove down the field and thanks to a BULLSHEET roughing call on Junior against Theismann.....the Skins kept their drive alive and got the winning FG. Lomax led the Cards down the field again, but O'Donaghue missed a rushed 50 yard FG as time expired.

Lomax was nothing short of brilliant in that game, and that damn call on Junior ticked me off as much as any call ever ticked me off.

Yes, those days are over and Boone is long gone, but it doesn't ease the sting of all the horrible decisions an inept Bidwill made and put his fans through hell for decade after decade.

I remember some of those horrible picks Stouffer was a supplemental pick I remember that, Yea but those days are over just look at our picks over the last 6-7 yrs awesome drafts we have had...sit down and just go back to our drafts recently very very good.... look at the young talent we have...if we can just get a coach to get these guys to play

Boone was the personnel guy and was solely responsible for the drafts for a lot of years. Bidwill was blindly loyal to him.

Boone is the one that drove Coryell out of town and Boone is the one that drafted Clyde Duncan, Kelly Stouffer, Anthony Bell, etc in the 1980's.

The story about Bell: most people had him projected as a 2nd round pick, but Boone drafted him with the 5th pick, probably cause they thought they could sign him cheaper than a real first round pick. When Bell got to STL, a reporter asked him about Boone and playing for the Cards. Bell asked the guy who Boone was. Boone had never even talked to him........

In 1987 the Card offense was good and the defense was bad, and the Cards had Neil Lomax. Gene Stallings urged them to pick Jerome Brown with their pick and instead Boone picked Kelly Stouffer, who never even signed with the Cards. Brown of course, went on to become a star with the Eagles.

Okay, I could go on all day.....maybe I'll make a dumb Boone story a weekly addition to this group.

I am not to familiar about Boone and draft picks enlighten me, I do know nobody wanted to play for Bidwell Wolfey told me some good stuff about Bidwell, one thing I will say good about Bidwell he always said if we get a new stadium he will have the extra revenue to better things in franchise like pay top dollar for coaches and better training facilities and he has done that

There's a TD about worst owner in pro sports, and I went off on Bidwill in the comments. I still get ticked when I think about George Boone and all the 1980's draft picks.

I think you're right about playing down to the opponent. They've done that a lot, which I blame on Whiz to a large degree, but I have a feeling they are going to ride the momentum of the last two weeks and win this one fairly easily.

I hope so Rings, these are the games that scare me, when we play good teams we either suk or play great, but against bad teams we do not have that killer instinct, but you know what is motivating this team is the media, they still give us no respect, and say Giants played bad, not Cards played good, 1 more thing think about this imagine if we drafted AP instead of Levi Brown you know we passed on AP

I'm pissed about last night's game. I know the Indianapolis Colts are a very good team, upper echalon of the league and all that. Regardless, this Cardinal team has way too much talent to get their arses handed to them like that on their home field.

Can't turn the **** ball over in the red zone like this against a team as good as Indy . Should have been a call on Indy against Boldin on that INT, but still....mistakes just KILL this team.

Very disappointing performance. I couldn't see the entire game, but it sounds to me like they were a little lifeless and made too many stupid penalties.

I am putting this one on the coach for not having his team prepared, and 12 penalties, same as last yr, and Kurt can't move he is not healthy

honestly I expected them to be really good last yr and you did to, they finally came together in playoffs and i really think it was because the defense, and DRC, Rings we are gonna have a great defense, watch, if you remember last yr I thought it was gonna be great, and the only reason we did what we did was because of the defense, remember we shut down the 2 best rushing offenses in NFL last yr, atlanta and Pittsburg, if it wasn't for Big Ben eluding pass rush we win Super Bowl think about it how many times were we all over him and couldn't drag him down

hey Shield I have been checking Cards website every day and it seems like Arizona has football fever the players cannot believe the crowds showing up during training camp

Take this as a grain of salt, but there are rumors coming from Steve Wyche from NFL Network saying that a Dansby contract is Imminent and could be done as soon as the end of this week. I hope its true, that would make this the best off-season ever!

Adrian Wilson has just been signed to a new 5 year deal!! He is the true face of the Cardinals! Woohoo!! I am so happy about this signing!

Wilson has been the only one to go about it as a pro keeping his complaints pretty much in house and saying all the right things to the media.

just read on the Cardinals website that Rod Graves is getting closer to finishing a deal with Adrian Wilson. This is very good news.

I think he has 2 more years left on his deal, but im not sure. But this definitely is not the last year of his deal. I have faith in Matt too. By all accounts I have read, it says that Matt has matured big time. He has improved on his footwork, which was one of the main criticisms people had against him. But I have total faith in Leinart as well. However, I hope Kurt still tears it up this season like he did last year.

I know you guys are gonna kill me on this, BUT once again I have all the faith in Matt if Kurt is hurt or has a down year we gotta see what we got because isn't this his last yr on his contract or does he have 1 more thats gonna be a huge problem, Shield is Matt's contract up after this year or does he have another one cause if its up and he doesn't see any playing time this year, how do they go about signing him, does he get a pay cut, I would think some crazy organization will pay himcrazy money even though he is unproven.

Actually we get 2 Sunday Night football games. One at home against the Colts and another one on the road against the Giants. Then we get a monday night football game against the 9ers in December. Its a lot more than we have got in the past, lol.

no news on Dockett and there wont be any news for a few years. He just signed an extension in 2007. He has 3 years left on the new deal he signed then. He isnt going anywhere. Q firing Drew is nice, but I dont think a deal with him will get done til next off season.

Guys this is getting ridiculous the good think is it shows how smart we were to sigh these guys to longer contracts, remember last time we made playoffs our roster got raided in offseason, I am getting to the point let em freakin go, and get guys who want to play.

Dockett isnt going anywhere, he just signed an extension in 2007. The only option he has is to either play out the rest of his contract or sit out for 3 years and not get paid a dime, lol. This was an easy "No" for the organization to say.

I read about Dockett wanting to be traded now, and the Cards saying no. I don't think we can affored to lose Dockett.

dont get me wrong, im giving coach the benefit of the doubt. he obviously had these cuts planned for weeks by the decisions he made in the draft. and Hood was making 3 mil to be a nickle corner this year(McFadden is going to start, we all saw that once he was signed), so yeah I can see the Hood cut. Im surprised by the LaBoy cut because he was our main pass rusher when healthy. But thats the thing, WHEN healthy. So ok, i have calmed down a bit. Now we have 6 mil to play with, and I think the cards will make some moves these next few weeks.

I do think that we are willing to let Dansby walk, and I am perfectly fine with that. Like I have said many times before, this guy is very good, but he just wants way too much money. So now, we have money to extend Wilson, and maybe even Boldin. However, I dont think we should put Boldin near the top of our priority list. I would rather extend Wilson and then sign LB Foote from the Steelers or another FA LB for depth purposes. However, I think we should get Wilson done this year. We need to reward his loyalty and hard work.

By the way didn't they sign a corner Mcfadden he is better than Hood I think

listen guys I hate to keep using the Pats as an example but thats how you win in the NFL you gotta make the tough decisions, look at Pats getting rid of Vrabel, Assante Samuel, Adam Vinateri, I could go on and these guys were pro bowlers, winning in NFL is about making the smart moves, not just short term but long term, and its not just Whiz lets give graves some love here guys look at our drafts over the years Dockett, Fitz, Dansby, Rolle, Hightower, ect......... this is telling me they are gonna do something with Dansby & Dockett, Q I doubt they do anything with I think he is gonna be in limbo, unless they give him a little bimp but not much, remember we gotta do something with Wilson to, then comes Rolle, and also Matts contract is coming up after next yr. and we have to make a decision on him, because what we get out of Kurt is gravy now.

Well, the cardinals just cut Edge, Hood, and LaBoy.

Edge we all expected, but I am shocked to see Hood and LaBoy cut. And all to gain 6 mil in cap space. I dont like this whatsoever. Just when I think we are finally stacked at secondary, we cut one of our better CBs. The coaches are putting a lot of trust in our rookie CB Toler. And I thought LaBoy would have a breakout year after finally resting from injuries... man, again we must have a lot of trust in our rookies if we cut these veterans. I trust ya Whiz, but damn this just shocked me.

Early will be a very good receiver once he can get some actual playing time. If Q were to go down again from injury, Early is gunna step in big. Hightower is going to be vastly improved. He will be doing the majority of the workload is what i predict. And DRC is gunna be our main playmaker. Wells will do his share and might get a couple of big gains, but I dont expect all that much from him his rookie year.

Im more stoked on seeing the defensive side of the game. We already know what our offense can do, I want to see what we can do with a healthy LaBoy and a more 3-4 style of team(we will still be a hybrid). Dansby is gunna play his ass off just to get a monster paycheck next year in free agency, and I expect that 2nd rounder we drafted to make some plays. I also expect a good year from Haggans. Hayes always has solid years so I dont expect anything different from him. I am very stoked about our secondary. I think we will have one of the better secondaries in the NFC. McFadden, DRC, Hood, Brown, Toler, Rolle, Wilson... that free agent safety from San Fran, the safety we drafted, we are stacked at secondary! Holy crap, I am very excited.

definitely see a lot more fans here in az, and a ton of more fitzgerald fans. however i still see a lot of cowboys jerseys and some posers with steelers jerseys who you know damn well arent even remotely near from that area. the people of arizona are so fickle, with the exception of basketball. the one true fanbase we have had over the years are phoenix suns fans. but i can guarantee you, these games at home are gunna be 95% cards fans for every game. the cards made a lot of new fans last season and they are gunna keep backing us up.

I think Timmy is still going to be our main back, but Wells will help carry the load. And like you said, no one probably expected Wells to fall down so far. So its a good pick, and since he fell down this far the reward far outweighs the risk. Now lets go LB crazy these next few rounds lol.

love Beanie but would have preferred Malaluga from USC, I am worried about losing Dansby next yr. plus in my opinion Beanie and hightower are pretty much the same type of backs, Beano a litlle more explosive, I guess its tough to pass him up seeing he dropped so far in 1st round.

terrible news. Dansby has come out and spoken today that a deal is not even close and that he actually wants to be a free agent next year. he doesnt want to be a cardinal i guess... over rated piece of garbage...

That sucks. There's a T&R out there this morning that says he is going to maybe hire Wilson's agent, because Dansby and Wilson are close. Maybe that will be a good thing.

well things just took a major step back as there are reports that Karlos Dansby has fired his agent. Damn, thats not a good sign. Karlos has even went on the air publicly saying that he would like to test the free agent waters next year... i wonder what the hell happened within 2 days...

rumors are that the Cardinals and Karlos Dansby are close to a deal. Some say it should be done sometime next week. I hope this is true!

I dont know if its official because the Cardinals havent said it yet, but several websites are claiming the Cardinals have re-signed CB Ralph Brown. I like this. He is a veteran CB that is a leader in the locker room and proved to be a very good back up.

I also hope the Cards re-sign Terrelle Smith. He is a great blocking fullback, but according to Smith the Cards havent contacted him yet. I hope he comes back, I really like Smith.

Update Time brought to you by me! Clark Haggans has just been re-signed to a 3 year deal. The Cards are working on re-signing Berry. Their focus after that is extending Adrian Wilson(negotiations have already begun) and getting a deal done with Dansby(talks have begun but are nowhere near close). Then after all that, their focus is going to be on getting Q a new contract. Dockett still has 2 or 3 years still left on his new contract so I dont think he is anywhere near on the Cards radar right now. Maybe next year he will be. Also, I think the cards are working to restructure Rolle's contract because he is due 8.5 mil next year with his current structure.

I haven't heard anything about Wilson or Dockett. Or Berry for that matter. What's up with him.

Warner just signed a two year deal with the Cards. Dont know what the numbers are, thatll come out soon but I think its 2 years 23 million. Thats about 11.5m a year. Waiting to see how much of that is guaranteed but that was more along the lines of what the Cards were offering so Im happy. Now we can finally start shopping and renegotiating other contracts for our core players. Lets get it done Graves, you can do it!

I agree. Other teams will flirt with him a bit, but no one is going to go to $14-16M.

i honestly think warner isnt going to get what his agent thinks he cant get, which is 14-16m. he is just too old to risk that kind of deal from any team. i think the cards offer is very generous and will be the deal he ends up signing.

I don't know, I think so many teams need QBs that someone would overpay for Warner.

Kurt is in the perfect spot and he has to know that. No way he goes to Chicago and is successful in their division with those receivers. Kurt's never played his best in cold weather, because his game is based on timing and accuracy. Wind and cold play havoc with that.

also, Warner is only effective when the team around him has a passing mentality. Look at his stint with the Giants. They were a balanced attack team with sub par receivers and Warner could not work it out over there. I think the Cards have pretty good leverage in this negotiation. We have the best receiving core in the league, even without Q.

i think the Cards might let Warner test free agency just to see what the market is offering him. Of course AZ is his first option, so he may say "so and so offered me this much, if u offer me the same then i will re-sign." But it could also work to our advantage. As great as Warner was, he is STILL going to be 38 years old this season. Sooner or later, age is going to catch up with him. Look at Farve. He had a great final season with the packers. the Jets ponied up tons of money for him, and look what happened. Farve flatlined near the end. There may not be that big of a market for Warner as his agent seems to expect.

oh im sure Kurt stays pat for 10-12m. That is what we have offered and I think we are going to stick to those guns. The Vikes are another team that need a QB but their division opponents are cold weather teams so yeah you made that point. Kurt is staying here. I just dont want to pay him 14m. I doubt he will get 14m but if he were to stress that and say "pay me 14m or i leave" then Id rather just let him leave. But I am sure we get him for around the 12m mark which I think is a very fair deal. That will put him in the top 5 QB earning ratio.

I understand he deserves to get paid highly but if he goes for that, we are crippled as to the resigning of the other core players. Hopefully he will settle on a 12.5m a year deal. well there are sources already announcing that Dansby was tagged. No confirmation yet but that seems about right. Did you guys see the Martz rumor story? I can't see that he would be a good fit with Whiz. Whisenhunt adapted his run-first philosophy to fit his talent this year, but at heart he is still a Steelers pound the ball kind of guy. I think Martz's philosophy on offense would give him fits.

I think Martz could suit our offensive talent though......especially if he and Kurt can patch their differences from when they split in St Louis.

word is the front runner for the D job is Steelers linebacker coach Keith Butler. I heard Whiz wanted to implement a full on 3-4 defense instead of the hybrid, so Butler would bring that. Q isnt going anywhere. He is still under contract for 2 more years. So unless he is willing to sit out those two years, he isnt going anywhere. I have a feeling he will sign a new contract with us because he has zero leverage in the talks. Also, talks have already started between the Cards and Karlos Danby's agent. They want to get a deal done before free agency starts. Thats a good sign. Lewis wants out of Baltimore and I dont see the Ravens keeping both Lewis and Suggs. So one of those two are going to hit the market. We have a lot of money to play with. We will probably sign depth guys like we did last year. Especially at cornerback. However, I wouldnt doubt it if the Cards go after 1 big name this year.

yeah i think the whole team was just in shock for a good second after the pick. then basically it seemed that everyone was think someone would eventually get him so they were sorta dogging it. Then by around the 40 they were like Oh Crap we better catch this guy. I never seen Mike Gandy run so fast lol. He almost had him! He dove for Harrison and missed, and Fitz had to sidestep Gandy so that slowed Fitz down a little. Damn, great play by Harrison though.

Yea but also if you watch that play closely if Fitz ran full speed from the time it got picked he would have had him easy before he even got 20yds, Fitz and all the rec. and backs just stood there in disgust for about a second and Fitz was jogging thinking there is no way someone is not gonna get him, then he turned it on.

Did you guys see how Rolle stepped forward on the sideline and got in Fitz's way when he was trying to chase down Harrison? He may have slowed up Fitz just enough that he couldn't get there in time.

I'm like you guys, I am completely proud of them and how they played and competed. A lot of teams would have crumbled after the interception and just gone through the motions in the second half, but they kept fighting back, and that is a testament to Whiz and how ready he had them.....and how much he had them believing in themselves. If you'd told me after the New England game that we would come within a minute of winning the Super Bowl.....I'd have never believed it. The way we turned it around and played up to our capability was truly awesome.

That being said.....last night represented the single most heart-breaking moment of my sports fan life. To come back like that and be within a minute of the Lombardi Trophy.....after all the years of ridicule and ineptness.....it was just heartbreaking.

I cant tell ya why they didnt throw the fade. Warner made the rare mistake of locking down on one receiver the whole time and Harrison read it all the way. That said, I am extremely proud of the Cardinals. They showed they belonged on that field and showed the world how good of a team they are. All credit to the Steelers, they made the play at the end and won it. It felt like the first Rocky movie. No one believed Rocky could challenge Apollo Creed, but Rocky managed to go the distance with Creed even though Creed won. Thats the Cardinals right now. They went the distance with the Super Bowl champion. No one believed they could do it, but the Cardinals showed a lot of heart. I dont know if we will ever get to the Super Bowl again, but I love this team and I am not ashamed to show it. I am not going to watch ESPN for about a good week or two because I dont wont to see clips of the Steelers holding the trophy even though they deserve it. Im just not ready for it. I didnt watch the trophy presentation after the game either. Congratulations Steelers. You played a hell of a game and it was a great Super Bowl.

The nerves are starting for the first time this postseason, i wasn't nervous when my White sox were in Series, this is and I am 44 yrs old and consider myself a walking sportspage and pretty much can go head to head with anybody on sports knowledge and been following sports since I was 9 yrs old, i remember watching Bobby Orr, Carlton Fisk's game 6 homer in 75 series, the Bruins heartbreak all those years against the Canadiens, BUT this is the single biggest sports thing in my life, actually its the biggest thing in my life besides my son being born, I have never been so I don't know, GOOD LUCK EYESHIELD AND TENRINGS.

It doesn't matter because we cannot upgrade Q, he is getting traded, we got to upgrade Wilson & Dockett those are musts, plus resign Dansby (I think he is irreplaceable I know you don't Shield) and Kurt, plus I think Antonio Smith is a goner because he is gonna get overpaid like Pace last yr. I think we will have money to play with though to and we could use a pass rusher, and maybe a cornerback, although we could get by with hood for another year, plus we are gonna need another linebacker maybe 1st round pick LB, I like our Oline I know you don't Shield its young and coming along, we can get a veteran running back on the cheap.

Fitz was asked something on the lines of if he would do something to keep Q and Fitz gave that answer. Its just a simple cliche answer because restructuring his contract benefits Fitz more because he would get paid upfront more of that bonus money. So I wouldnt read too much into it. He wont be taking a pay cut, he would earn the same amount of money, his contract would just spread out longer.

I remember the days of sitting in the hot ass bleachers at sun devil stadium and it wouldnt even be half full.

Theres a ton of steelers fans on the cards message board just talking crap about how this is going to be so easy for them. i love it. we get to punch them in the mouth just like we did last year when we beat em. We played more physical than they did. Their team is still the same whereas our team has vastly improved since then. I cant wait man! This bye week is killing me. Anquan Boldin is back and practicing fully so it seems that hammy has healed up very nicely. Not only will we have Fitz, we will have Q at 100%... i cant **** wait!!

Yeah, I think Denny had a big hand in all of this. He definitely put a lot of the talent together......just couldn't get enough Ws on the field, although he probably would have in another year or two.

Things would have been different for Denny in AZ if we hadn't blown that Bears game.

I have not read it but if you remember when we were talking about Denny earlier in season the one thing I always thought he did well was personall, I mean he was responsible for Q, Dockett, Dansby, Fitz, ect. Dockett & Dansby were in same draft.

See I expected this from them, now not this way as you have noticed from my bashing of coach. I really thought that our defense was gonna be great and was very disapointed and I was right as far as coaching they needed discipline and whiz stepped up by all accounts after that Pats game he put the team through a training camp like week of practice in full pads. plus of course there pride showed up to with the media and everybody counting them out. the biggest difference though is DRC allowing Wilson to play in the box just like the safety Bob Sanders does for the Colts and if you remember when the Colts had their Super Bowl run they were the worst team in the NFL against the run, then once the playoffs started no one could run on them.

well thats my real beef with the o-line is that it IS young. in every other position we have veteran leadership(Warner, Edge,Haggans,Wilson,Morey on special teams, Q and Fitz.) But the o-line is still very young. and Deuce has been going downward since last year. He had so much promise too. We need at least 1 veteran to just light a fire in their ****.

Of course its gonna hurt BUT. the big thing is they need to make him inactive if he is not going to be able to be at 75%, this way Doucett can get some touches he is a Q clone except we do not know about his heart as far as ability he has it. has anyone else noticed all the drops lately by Q. and you know the Philly game the score didn't indicate that we were in that game as we had the ball down by a TD when Q had a ball go right of his hands for a int and Philly scored and that was in 4th quarter. Shield I like our Oline its young and getting better again as I said before did you watch the Eagles game Philly couldn't run a lick but they still showed it thats what we got to do you cannot abandon the run even if you can't run. you gotta keep D honest and it also keeps the clock moving.

I think they'll trade Q......too many needs in other areas.

if hightower learns to be a north-south runner and not dance around in the backfield trying to make the big play, then hightower will be a real good back. Boldin is going to be a real good trade bait. Id love to keep him, but if we can get some elite o-lineman and a few draft picks then i wouldnt mind the trade.

By the way call me crazy but I could see them trading Q, with Breastons development and they really like Doucett, plus there are plenty of rec on the scrap heap that would work well with our offense.

There are plenty of backs you could get on the cheap in free agency, also you could get some good backs late in draft, and guys Hightower is the real deal you will see, he just has to make some minor tweaks he will be much improved next year as a matter of fact I bet he already learned from watching Edge last game just go straight no pitter patter to the hole.

I agree. We have enough other needs in the draft.....I'd say let's go with Arrington and Hightower and draft elsewhere.

i think arrington stays, on the cheap too. he hasnt really shown anything so he wont be expensive to keep. id like to see what we got in him too. hightower isnt an every down back, but is a short yardage specialist. so i think we keep arrington, unless we go best player available in the draft. however im not really keen on how great a RB we can get picking in the 20 somethings in the draft.

I agree. I'd like to see Arrington get more of a look next year.

WE had 2 running backs that we drafted high but couldn't develope Thomas Jones & Hearst who both went on to have pretty good careers. I hope this don't happen with Arrington cause I am getting those vibes he really has never had a chance to play enough to see what he's got. you got to give a guy 10-15 touches a game for at least half a season.

Go back and look at the Card offense in '93 the year before he came. It was very good, but Buddy didn't like Beurlein, didn't like Gary Clark and then he got mad at Proehl for dropping a TD in his first game......so the guy brings in McMahon and Jay Schroeder......totally dismantling the offense.

Oh, and he didn't want to use Hearst, even though we spent the #2 or #3 pick in the draft or whatever it was.

I didn't mean it that way, what I meant was we witnessed the Neil Lomax days and Tim Rosenbaum when he blew out his knee on a walkthrough during final practice before opening season when it was looking like we were ready for a big season. who blows out their knee in a walkthrough. yea DRC looked great out there what impressed me about him was his tackling, also Levi Brown showed some a little mean streak to. Thats what I have been saying even if they do not gain much running they still got to show it. it wasn't like they ran all over Atlanta but the running helped playaction plus when we score so fast the D gets no rest.

hey you cant hold the fact that i was born way later than you guys against me!! j/k. its great that our die hard fanhood and loyalty is being rewarded! the defense was great, but they were out there a lot in that 2nd quarter when the Falcons came back so i guess they were just a little tired. And Cromartie is the man! Buy that kid's jersey quick! The flea flicker was awesome. I sat on the sidelines near near the endzone so when Fitz jumped and caught it, I saw it all! It was freaking awesome. My voice sounds like a little school girl right now but it is so worth it!

Rings is it me or does this feel better than in 99 even though we beat the Cowboys back then, I feel like this team is in it for the longhaul with new stadium, new fans, and just a good future thats not cloudy.

Well I ended up going to the game and it was off the freaking hook!!!! dude there were more people with Lions jerseys on than Falcons, so it was 99.999999% cards fans and it was LOUD!!!!!! My voicebox is destroyed but I dont care. It was amazing. Edge tore it up. And I told you Cromartie is a playmaker. That fleaflicker from the first quarter for the TD, that was pure Whiz. So give the coach some freaking credit. Its not Whiz' job to be a motivator and the reason we had a bad month of December was cus the players had nothing to play for so they dogged it. We are going to win this division for years to come and its all thanks to Whiz.

Anyway, great game. And we got into victory formation and just kneeled it three times and won. Now if Philly wins out and we beat the Panthers, then we host the NFC Champ game because yes it is based on seeding not W-L record.

I think we'll light up their defense too. ATL hasn't been great defensively, especially on the road. Kurt will be ready to play because he wants to show that he is a top QB and a playoff performer, and not just a Martz product, as some people say.

I think Edge will be the X factor in this game. ATL will be coming in thinking we can't run the ball, but if Edge has success early, it'll keep them off balance.

Cromartie is the real deal man. He is 11th I think overall in the league when it comes to passes defended...and he didnt start till the second half of the season! Quarterbacks are also starting to avoid DRC as they are throwing more to Hood, who is by far our best corner. DRC is money. Great draft pick. This guy has prowl bowl numbers in his rookie year! I think Kurt goes for somewhere around 296 yards and 3 TDs. Two to Fitz and 1 to either Boldin or Breaston. I think Kurt will play a very good game and no picks. I think our D will cause 1 or 2 turnovers. The only thing I worry about is our special teams return coverage. I predict us winning by 10, but it wont be as close. I think the Cards will grind out the clock and Atlanta wont be able to do anything about it.

By the way am I the only one that thinks the Cards are gonna light it up on offense against this team, maybe Kurt throws for 350 and Fitz 3tds and Breaston has a big game to, also predicting an interception return for us on defense either Rolle or Cromartie, by the way Shield it seems like Cromartie is coming around how has he looked.

Yeah, they'll absolutely try to run the ball and keep our offense off the field. That kind of game plan puts less pressure on Ryan too, in his first PO game.

IF the Cards can contain the run at all.....I'm very confident that Kurt will put points up and the Cards can win this one.

I agree I think we can beat Atlanta to. it should be a shootout though. they will probably try to keep Kurt and co. off field with Turner @ Norwood who scares me more than Turner because if I know this coaching staff they are not smart enough to figure out that they have 2 excellent backs, and will concentrate so much on turner and forget Norwood, like they did with Minny and forgot about the QB.

I was yelling at Kurt for his fumble and that terrible pick he made. I was yelling when we kept running shotgun on 2nd and 3 or 3rd and 1. I was yelling quite a lot the first half. But I gotta admit, the adjustments we made in the second half were excellent. We just clicked and we took control of the game. And we were cheering our hardest for Edge! What a difference our run game is when Edge is in there. When Hightower is hit in the backfield, we lose yards. When Edge is hit in the backfield, he spins, tumbles, falls forward and we gain a yard! Those are intangibles man. He had 100 yards on only 14 rushes. Edge is going to be the key in the playoffs. And yes I think ATL is very beatable as well. But the best part about today, the Eagles beat the living crap out of the Cowboys and knocked them out of contention!!!!!

I think we're going to beat Atlanta.....and I'll write more on that later.

In my life as a Card fan....I remember winning seasons in 1976,1982, 83 and 84.... and then in 1998, and now 2008. That is 6 winning seasons in 33 years, if my memory serves. You think about teams that win all the time and are always in the playoffs. There is no way they can appreciate 9-7 the way we can.

I wonder if Sendlein being the center is part of the problem of the Offensive line. We were marginally better when Al Johnson was our center before he went down with an injury. After all, it is the center who sees how the defense lines up and makes the o-line adjust accordingly. That and he is undersized. Damn, if it werent for Fitz we could have gotten Alan Faneca... that is what I wanted most off season. But then Fitz would have been pissed if we didnt pay him up and the Q would still be pissed and then we would have had 2 unhappy receivers... You all know what I want for next year, a friggin o-line lol.

Coach Whiz has been saying that since last yr. and the same old stuff keeps happening. listen I wish I could feel like things are gonna get better but NOTHING has changed since last yr as far as discipline and winning on the road, NOTHING.

kurt warner himself said that the coach can only get you physically motivated and physically prepared, but it was up to the players themselves to get mentally prepared. kurt warner said those players know who they are and that he wasnt going to call them out. the coach can only do so much, man. if those players are dogging it, then yeah you get rid of them. Coach Whiz already said the rest of the season is going to be an evaluation to see who stays or who goes next year, regardless of contract.

You just totally said why Whiz should not be this teams coach, If your players are dogging it week in and week out, what do you do get rid of the whole team or get rid of the coach who cannot seem to get these guys motivated or disciplined.

i really hope leinart starts sunday. i really want to see what we have in this kid. as great as warner has been, he is part of the reason we cannot run the ball. with warner in there we will always be a pass only type of team. but if we switched to matt that would have forced us to upgrade the line. there are just so many things we have to improve this off season. i hope we spend like freaking crazy to upgrade this team but i dunno... we have SOOOO many needs. Special teams. Defense. O-line. D-line. Cornerback. Coaches. Everything. Well, we are gunna save 5 mil by letting our best RB go in Edge... and Im pretty sure Anquan Boldin would bring us in a ton of offers. I love Anquan, but if we can better the team by trading him... I wouldnt even hesitate at letting him go.

in all honesty i think excpet for about 5 or 6 guys...the rest of the players suck. the one thing i can probably agree with you against whis is maybe he just sucks at scouting talent. what happened to the draft class of 2007? i mean... i think Steve Breaston is the only one that actually improved. every one else, Levi Brown, Ben Patrick, Alan Branch, Buster Davis(was cut last year). i think its the players more than anything on defense that is screwing us over. yeah, the playcalling on offense is pretty bad right now. tod haley the o-coordinator needs to call better plays. but the defense just flat out sucks. and its not a preparation thing either. cus look at 2006, with an experienced coach in Denny Green, using what is almost exactly the same group of defensive players we have now... and the defense STILL sucks. And we all know denny green threw players in the dog house and made public outbursts so i think that its just the players on defense are really really soft. if you have been watching just for the last 3 or 4 years... they do not know how to tackle. you are right though, i really wish whis would just bash the hell out of his players but even if he did that the whole year and forced them to be prepared i still think our defense would suck. it is a joke.now i honestly do not care if Dansby leaves anymore. With that money we could make an offer to Suggs from baltimore and get a much better pass rusher. we can also cut okeafor and look for a better linebacking corps. this team is just soft man. it is undersized. look at our center. he is so tiny. we need one of those bulking huge 360 lb type of line!!! we are going to have to start from scratch next year on the line, both offense and defense. and after the 4 debacles we have had this year, i cannot see how the front office can keep clancy pendergast as the defensive coordinator. special teams coach is gunna change too. we are gunna have a whole lot of changes next year, thats for sure. for now, im just hoping the cards can catch fire in the playoffs and just ride on that for as long as they can. this team is just not ready. blame the coaches all you want, and they do deserve the blame, but this team does not have the players on defense or an offensive line to actually help us run the mother **** ball.

Yeah, I think the most important thing the next two weeks is to get a good, motivated effort from our Defense........we need something to give them some confidence going into the playoffs.

i am happy though that the Ravens beat the Cowboys. I hate the cowboys so much. Well, if we can establish a run game here we have somewhat of a chance. Like I stated before I dont mind if we lose so long as we stayed competitive and I hope to god our defense wakes its **** up because its been about 5 weeks now that our defense has fallen asleep.

more bad news, Clark Haggans was put on injured reserve, thus ending his season. Travis LaBoy will likely miss the game on Sunday as well. JJ and Anquan still seem to be a no go for sunday as well.

guys expect another loss here on the east coast. not only is it against a NE team that needs to win out to get to the playoffs, its also in the cold, an early game by west coast standards(11 am here arizona time), not only will we probably bench some players, but we play like crap against the east coast. i wont be totally bummed if we can manage to run the ball and at least be competitive. if we are competitive and not get blown out, then i will be convinced that we can play against good teams on the road and i wont be worried in the playoffs.

Anquan Boldin and JJ Arrington might not play as both havent practiced this week. Q has a bum shoulder and JJ has a bum knee, so the coach might sit them out and save em for the playoffs.

I know thats great about the pro bowl players, I am suprised Wilson made it as a starter as I know he is the man and I love him to death, but in the games I have got to see he just wasn't making the plays I am accustomed to see him make, now it could be just the scheme the Cards play defensively. Or is he getting it on name only. tell me Shield has Wilson lost a little or is he hurt, you see every game.

one thing i will agree with you about Whiz is his decision to bench Edge. Ever since then, our run game went from a moderate 80 yards a game to now getting 60 yards a game... thats a huge drop off. And apparently Coach doesnt want to bring Edge in. Maybe he is saving Edge for the post season? No idea. Thats a head scratcher on my part. Id also like to know why our oline cant run block worth a damn...although I still attribute that to an undersized center and a weak right side of the line along with a slow left tackle... honestly Reggie Wells, the left guard, is the only decent guy on the line right now. I dont think we will draft much oline, i think that needs to be addressed with veterans through free agency. In better news, 5 of our arizona cardinals made it as starters in the pro bowl. The starters are Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Sean Morey(special teams), and Adrian Wilson. Congratulations to those guys!

Ron Wolfley, former Cardinals player and the team announcer on the radio game says the onus falls squarely on the PLAYERS to wake up for a game. Coach Whiz had made his players calm down and work all week before the Vikings game according to MANY sources, but the players just did not wake up for this game against the queens. Its on the players to respond, even if the coach hammers it in to them the whole week before the game, its still up to the players to respond. you can only play with the players you got! and yes, the coach pendergast stipulation was true, otherwise the cardinals would have hired someone from within the company to be head coach. coach cant run the ball because the players cant run block. thats saying more about russ grimm than anything. maybe russ grimm is over rated as oline coach. and levi is not very good. dont listen to what the pundits say. if you had the ability to watch every game, you can see levi gets beaten a lot in pass protection. he can run block somewhat ok, but pass protection is not his cup of tea. anyway the debacle of the game was terrible. kurt looked tired from the beginning and made horrible decisions with the ball. the vikings just brought on pressure all day and kurt just had to struggle to survive. i think the pressure of him having to play perfect for the team to win is getting to kurt. anquan dropped passes and fumbled at a key moment. i dunno whats wrong with anquan. i hope he can shake it off. fitz was covered ALL day. he was basically a non issue for the game. JJ was pretty good... probably the only bright spot of the day. the d line, except for a few plays, got abused by the good vikings oline. adrian peterson was breaking takles easily because the players were not wrapping up. vikings converted 3rd downs all game long. the secondary was abused, especially rod hood. the punting was crap early on, and decent in the later parts of the game. it was just an all around stink fest. this is just a team that does not yet know how to handle success. its going to be hard next week in NE, especially if the forcast for rain holds true. we HAVE to run the ball next sunday.

the oline is terrible. its been terrible for years. we have an undersized center, a horrible right guarg in deuce lutui, levi brown is a bust, reggie wells is the only decent player on the oline. why didnt we run? BECAUSE WE CANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have a terrible oline. look at all the freaking pressure kurt had on him all freaking day. our oline is one of the worst. just because we dont give up a lot of sacks doesnt mean we are good. this is one of the worst olines in the league. and the cardinals only have talent at wide reciever, quarterback, and thats it. Have you seen how our defense has played without Adrian Wilson?? Its terrible!! The dline hardly ever gets pressure. The corners ALWAYS play soft. We have no special teams coverage cus it sucks. and just because you know jackson would have a good day doesnt mean the coach didnt. was it whiz who freaking played defense? no, it was our sorry **** defensive players that played defense. that falls on the players and the DEFENSIVE coordinator. Its HIS job to scout the opponents offense and play schemes that put us in a position to stop them. Is it coach whiz fault that OUR "talented" defense cant tackle worth a ****?? Coach is only playing with what we got. The Bidwills made it clear to Whiz that the only way he could accept the coaching job was to let Clancy Pendergast stay on as D coordinator. Hopefully his over rated **** is gone after this season. Everyone keeps saying "lets just pass cus we cant run" and criticizes coach for attempting to run, but as u can see we came out PASSING all day today and it got us NOWHERE. we are one dimensional and every team in the league knows that. until we can run the ball, we are going to get blown up like this by the good teams. you can put the onus on Coach for not going with Adrian Peterson last year and I would agree with you. You can put the onus on coach for not drafting heavily in oline this year and id agree with you. You put the onus on the front office for taking so damn long to sign Larry Fitzgerald in the off season and by that we missed out chance to sign Alan Faneca or other olinemen. The cards are what they are, a 1 dimensional attack with NO defense. We will just have to wait and see how far we can actually go in the playoffs with this approach. Now, if coach cant fix this **** next year, I would wholeheartedly apologize to you and agree with you. But until then, the cards are the cards, a predictable passing team.

Our corners are average at best. Our O-line is a piece of crap. if we want a run game then Edge has to be the starter. at least with edge we were getting about 80 yards a game. since edge has been benched and after hightower's 100 yard game, we have been getting in the 20s to 40s. thats not good. edge is a grinder, we may not get the yards per carry with him, but we were getting positive yards. i would, however, like to see how JJ would do as a starter. Hightower is a great goal line and short yardage back.

I agree. We have to run the ball better to become a SuperBowl contender over the next year or two. The Rams run defense is horrible, that was a perfect opportunity to really try to run the ball.

Or maybe we are in shock, although to be honest I expected them to be even better I really mean it, I have yet to see them play a great game against a good team, since Buff & Miami, against Dallas they played good but also did their best coaching job to blow that one. I think they can be so much better. its not that we dont have faith, its that there is a dilemma. we have many needs. Mainly Offensive Line, and Cornerbacks. We are going to lose some players. It happens to every team. This is the era of free agency. The core group is wanting money. Boldin, Dansby, Antonio Smith, Wilson, Warner, Green is in his last year. We need to get some corner depth. We need some OL depth. We need to solve this mess with Boldin. Warner wants a new starter's contract. Dansby is going to ask for 20+ mil up front like Calvin Pace got, we need special teams depth. So yeah, it all depends on what moves we make in the off season. And dude what the hell is your problem with Whiz? Were you satisfied with the 4-12, 5-11 seasons we had before Whiz? Whiz turned this franchise around in his SECOND year. We are above .500 IN DECEMBER. We are going to clinch our first division title since the 1970s! 2 days ago punter Dirk Johnson was released by the Cards. We picked up punter Ben Graham. I never heard of the guy. He was the Jets punter for 2 years I think... hopefully he is an improvement over Dirk.

This should be the week Hightower truly gets going. I think he should be able to catch his groove facing some really weak rush D's to finish the season. STL is STL, Minn has lost the Williams boys to eat up the middle, NE is 14th ranked, and Sea is 22nd.

Hey guys being from Boston thats all we do is be critical and negative, so I am changing my tune, I am going glass half full here, listen we should win 10 games (I hate that you are right again Rings) but even if we drop to 9 I am not gonna hate on Cards, look at it this way we get a home playoff game no matter what, and listen guys we are on the right track with another yr. with Eyeshields hero Whiz and his staff under their belt (just kidding Shield like him to just think he is not ready for prime time )and knowing our weaknesses that we shore up in offseason we will be a Super Bowl contender next yr. you guys are forgetting a big reason why those guys left after the 98 playoffs. quite simply, we didnt have the money because we didnt have stadium revenue. we were playing at sun devil stadium, which did not belong to us, we we did not get the full share of the revenue. per the deal, Arizona State University got half of the revenue. Now that we have our own stadium, and 100% revenue, you better believe we are gunna be more competitive in spending.

a couple of things first i will not lambaste Whiz we lost to a good team and after watching that game I know we could play with these guys I will take a quote from you guys hero coach Whiz "we need to clean up a few things" if they do that even though we have been saying this now for 2 seasons, we can play with anybody. If they hand the reins to Leinart... i think boldin will get traded and we start resigning the D players.

I know you guys are huge fans of Boldin (so am I) but I'm not sure if keeping him is the right thing to do. He wants Fitzgerald money, and he deserves it as well. nothing has really been said about antonio. i agree with you though he has a motor and its always on. he seems to always be at the right place at the right time. its tough to gauge what kind of offers he will get however. Dansby, I would love to see him a cardinal forever. you are correct in your evaluation of him. however, i do not believe we will give him the money Pace got in NY but you know some other team will be willing to pay that. id want him too, but not for 20 mil a year. thats just sick. as for back up linebackers... all we pretty much have is monty beisel lol. he is a decent backup but nowhere near the caliber of karlos. also, we need to pay Wilson because he has patiently been waiting for a new contract for two years now. i think he is top priority for the Defense because you have seen the game when A-Dub is not on the field, the defense plays terrible. Rolle is also in his last year i believe. So i dont know what they are going to do there. Eric Green will most likely be let go after this season, so we will have a need for corner yet again. its going to be hard this offseason. expect the draft to fill needs.

Shield isn't Dansby gonna be hard to replace you see every game tell me isn't it gonna be tough to replace a player that can play all phases of linebacker he covers, tackles and rushes QB those are hard to come by you think they can come up with a reasonable number, and Q is heart and soul of this team, also Shield tell me about Antonio Smith the few games I've seen he is always coming up with big plays. is he a goner to cause he is up also.

i think we will get boldin and kurt signed in the offseason. think about it boldin has a family that has only known arizona. this success will make him reconsider his position and the money will come. we will however lose some key players, as it is inevitable with every team. im thinking dansby is gone as he is looking for a monster pay check like calvin pace has got... and we arent going to give him that. 20+ mil a year is just ridiculous. i think we are willing to let him go in order for some corner and o-line depth. we will be 30 mil under the cap once we release Edge after the season... we are gunna have some nice chunk of change to add a lot of great depth and position ourselves to be a powerhouse for years to come.

My whole point was that I have been a cards fan for the past 10 or so years. I still love Plummer even though he's playing handball and I've continued to keep tabs on David Boston. A year ago FN was just created and I was too busy writing my thesis to contribute on a regular basis. I've been there through thick and thin, the Monday Night Chicago game was one of the most heart breaking sports experiences as a fan Ive ever had, but the 98 playoffs were one of the best. Its been 10 years without the playoffs and I have never once switched allegiances

if the cards play their hearts out... i think we win in a close one. remember when the steelers came in our house undefeated last year and how hyped they were to beat us? the cards played their hearts out, allowed willie parker to only rush for 29 yards, and we won. Jacobs is questionable for the Giants for sunday... but regardless their other two running backs are very very good. if we can stop their run game, i think we win this game. however rod hood is also questionable for sunday... he is our most consistent corner. i hope he plays. i think our D is gunna show up big this sunday. i expect a close win by our Cards.

you know Kurt is great when he has a 395 yard passing day, 1 td and 1 int and that is considered a bad game for him, lol. Cromartie came up big today. 2 picks. Defense and Offense played well, however the turnovers hurt us. The int, the fumble from Kurt and the fumble from Dansby. Seattle was able to score on all 3 turnovers. We didnt play great, however we did manage to win on the road. Dont be ashamed of this victory, it was really good. The D played on a short field almost all day. It's tough for me to feel great about today's game, given how much we have struggled to win at Seattle, but their pass defense is weak, so hopefully Kurt and Co. can take advantage.

Dockett is gonna hold out definatley, he almost did it this yr. and I think Dansby is a very important player, and don't be suprised if Ad wilson asks for more green to, its gonna be a sticky offseason, and I do agree with everything you are saying Shield.

well we havent had to worry too much this year with Kurt throwing ints since he only has 6 so far compared to 19 tds. i sincerely hope we resign him asap. he is the catalyst of this offense. leinart can learn more on the bench, just like aaron rodgers learned on the bench. i wouldnt mind a new defensive coordinator however, as the defense gives up a ton of yards when late in the 4th quarter. with playmakers like rolle, wilson, dansby, cromartie, berry, laboy... we shouldnt be going soft into prevent. clancy either needs to fix this crap or see ya later clancy. also, with edge most likely being cut after the season, we save 5 mil from that alone. hopefully we can get warner and boldin locked up. darnell is still under contract for 2 more years so he will have to wait. dansby... depending on how much he is asking for, i dunno. if he is demanding calvin pace money which he reportedly wants... then i think thats the last we see of him, however i think we can sign him to a 1 year RFA tender again next season. if so i wouldnt mind doing that to get some of the other needs addressed. OL depth, wilson, and a new corner since this is Eric Green's last year here and by the way he has played this year, we probably wont bring him back.

That was ridicoulous the way SF went from the 40 to the 3 yd line in like 20 sec so easy, they did it last yr. to on opening night. dude this is a good team we can beat anybody if we play smart. I'd rather see Kurt throw 5 int an we lose then lose with these penalties and stupid prevent. because at least I know Kurt is trying to make a play, but these false starts and offsides are killing us.

again, whiz is only in his second year. he will make mistakes, but he adapts to them. also, the onus has to fall on the players for committing mistake after mistake and eventually they will get benched for it. whiz has taken out Lutui in games for all his penalties and Eric Green has been demoted to nickel corner. The punting has been an issue. Its too late to resolve now. as for the defense, that falls squarely on pendergast. that is not whiz' fault whatsoever. tell pendergast to stop calling soft plays. but look at what coach has done. he brought in depth to the defense. travis laboy, clark haggans, bryan robinson. you cant just badmouth coach without giving him credit for what he has done. after all denny green had the SAME talent and couldnt do crap with them for 3 years. Coach Whiz in just ONE year brought this team to a non losing season in 10 years, and in his second year has them at 6-3 with a 4 game lead int he division. Coach is a great reason for this success. Honestly, if it were the Steelers or the Titans who won in this manner, the media will be saying wow this team just knows how to win even when things arent going their way! but since az wins in this manner, ppl are blasting the coach and calling us the same ol cardinals. dont fall into that trap. coach is building something very special here in the desert. good teams find a way to win in close games, and the cardinals did just that. you dont hear anyone calling for the Panther's coach's head after they barely were able to beat a pathetic Oakland team, do you? Let your emotions simmer down for a bit and then look at just how far we have come. we beat Dallas overwhelmingly, and the only way they came back was because the refs let them in. We spanked the Dolphins, we spanked the Rams, we spanked the Bills. And you arent giving him credit for that? that just doesnt roll right, man. If we had Denny still at the helm he would have benched Kurt for the season after his Jets debacle. Coach Ken is very calm and collected. We dont need a super emotional guy to whip these guys into shape. Coach already fines the players for penalties. Its the players who keep making the boneheaded mistakes. Yes, coach can be very conservative at times, but he is just using the philosophy he learned under Bill Cowher and the philosophy that helped win him a super bowl as an OC. Coach will continue to improve. He already has improved this team by leaps and bounds.

woah woah calm down there az. Ken Whisenhunt is exactly what this team needs. We are vastly improved from last year. Ken brings stability to an organization that has not had a winning season in 10 years. Ken is 14-11 in two seasons, the only other coach with a better record in their first 25 games with this franchise was Norm Barry who went 16-7-2 with the chicago cardinals in the 1920s. Whisenhunt is changing the losing culture in arizona. we are 6-3 and 4 games up in the dicision. as Rings stated, this is the first time we have been 3 games over .500 since 1988. Also, this is only Ken's second season as a head coach. He will make mistakes. But coach also owns up to his mistakes and adjusts to them. remember, Ken wanted to make this a run first team, but he realized that this team is built to pass and gave the reigns to Kurt. That says a lot about Coach. He wants to win, and he is doing it.

Guys I hate to say this but and call me crazy but Whiz gotta go he makes the same mistakes every game, and this team has no discipline they almost blew the Dallas game because of Whiz, they blew Carolina because of Whiz, and they blew SF opening night because of Whiz and they almost blew it last night and if I need to explain this to you guys you really do not know much about this game and I do not care if you want to say he don't call defenses or offenses when teams make the same mistakes game in and game out the head coach is accountable. well the 9ers put up a lot more fight than i expected, however we won a game where we would have lost in the past. we are 6-3 with a 4 game lead in the division with 7 games left to play. it feels good to be a cardinals fan.

I agree with Eyeshield.....and he is definitley right about Martz. I saw him here in STL.....and Bulger would get sacked 10 times a game because defenses were only playing the pass......and Martz would still refuse to run the ball......even with Marshall Faulk in the backfield.

im not too worried. i think singletary lost a lot of clout with his guys when he mooned them at halftime 2 weeks ago. i think they know they are in a transition and that most likely singletary wont be the head coach next year. this is a lame duck team with a different quarterback at the helm and the same offensive coordinator who simply refuses to rush the ball. Gore is their main weapon and they are neglecting him. I think the Cards D will step up big because we are in the light of MNF. Our offense will put up big numbers as well. i dont mean to sound cocky, but i dont think this game will even be close.

I am a little worried about San Fran coming out like animals because of the emotion from Singletary's comments and emotion can be good in football, Hey, Rings what did I tell you about Hightower before he even put on a Cardinal Uniform I new he would be good as he played in the conference that I have followed closely the last 4 yrs as a freinds sone played in it and its also a local conference. and I have seen him play live 2 times.

Cromartie has been schooled by the veteran receivers but thats to be expected. However he gets better and better every week. He is small, but he is very explosive and is known to hit big. He german suplexed Holt yesterday for crying out loud. It was awesome.

I don't think there is a lot that separates them from the top teams in the NFC. You're right about 7-1, that is the point I was trying to make in my TD, but I didn't state my case very well.

It's difficult for me to see us go into NY or Philly or somewhere in January and win a game, but yeah, I think we're right there. And I still say 10-6, because we will smash Seattle and the Rams in those four games.

The only reason Hightower wasn't starting sooner is he was having fumbling problems in preseason so they were worried about that but heck edge cost us 2 games directly with his fumbles if he don't fumble in Wash, & Carolina we win both them games hands down, both fumbles inside our 20 yd line led to TDs

I don't dislike Edge, but whatever gets us wins......if that is Hightower, then so be it.

You're right, the Rams D isn't great, but they've been playing pretty well lately. I watched their game against NE yesterday, and they were forcing TOs and making plays. I think the Cards will win, but I don't think it will be the cakewalk I thought it would be a couple of weeks back.

Kurt plays spectacular in the Dome. I expect a great game from out offense. Will we abandon the run again? I dont think so. The Rams D isnt that great so I think we will still be passing but we will go into ball control mode as well. We will probably see a lot more Hightower than usual. Which is good. I was a big Edge homer, but I think he is done. His play has opened my eyes. I love the guy, but he is clearly not a premier running back anymore.

Carolina's dis-mantling of the Saints yesterday is a little concerning, heading into next week. It'd sure be nice to be 5-2 heading into St Louis the following week.

Washington is tough and that is a difficult place to win a game. We had some chances that we just couldn't take advantage of, but it wasn't a bad loss.

Yesterdays Cards game was the best I've seen them play since they came to Arizona. Seattle lost to SF, the Rams also lost. This could be the year of the BIG RED! Oh yeah, and it was 1991 the last time they started 2-0.

Yeah, the media is full of crap, and I think sometimes they attack Warner because of his Christian beliefs.....people like to take shots at him.

In STL, the media went on and on about infighting between him and Bulger, and it was complete Fiction. Neither of them ever said there was a problem. All Kurt said was that he wanted to start, and the STL media made it out to be this huge jealous battle between him and Bulger.....like they hated each other.

Then after Kurt is out of STL, Bulger still talks glowingly about how Kurt helped him even after Marc took his job.....and he talks about how they still talk regularly....

thats because people live and die with what they say on ESPN, instead of having their own opinion or even looking up the truth or stats

I've noticed that there are a lot of Warner bashers on the NFL threads. I don't get it.....I know Kurt has his faults.....but he is an accomplished NFL QB, 2 time MVP, and one of the highest rated passers ever. Just seems to be a lot of negative Kurt stuff out there.

merry christmas! my xmas wishlist for the cards also involves asante samuels. id also like an Alan Faneca under the tree, A terrelle suggs also would be nice. but we all know we cant have them all. Id put Alan Faneca at the top of my list. Pro Bowl guard and olinemen have a long shelf life. A shut down corner would be nice so I wouldnt mind if we go that route in free agency. Suggs would be awesome, but not at the top of my list. Faneca and a shut down corner, be it Hall or Samuels(id prefer samuels) would be awesome. A safety would be nice, and Bob Sanders is also a free agent and would be awesome for this team! Lets see what we do with our 30 mil next year!

what is our christmas wish list for cards to add to team next yr. i will start with assante samuel, shut down corner, will cost us alot on cap but i really think its our biggest need, anyone else have any suggestions

again, i didi not see the game, but i wish i did we probably would have been going back @ forth on board beating up the cards during game, but again i am going to give them a pass because of the injuries, i am assuming they could not stop brees the have no secondary its beat up i no you realize what adwilson means to our secondary, not to mention practice squad players out there, not even back ups, they will finish 8-8, and i will take that a 2 game improvement over last year, if they do it next yr. they are 10-6, but i think they will improve even more so their is plenty to be hopeful for i already can not wait for the draft , this team is going into the offseason realistically thinking they are a major player next year

man im so stoked for sunday! i just have a feeling that the cards will play their hearts out. hopefully i am right and they take care of the seahags. the new stadium is unbelievable man. when i went in last year i couldnt believe how awesome it is. it felt so surreal. it still feels surreal. its such an awesome stadium. it is even bigger inside than it looks like on tv. im so happy with it.

so what do you think are we gonna make the playoffs, I think we have to win 1 road game an take care of business at home, by the way eyeshield i have been meaning to ask you is the new stadium as nice as it looks on tv.

Guys for the last two weekends I haven't been able to enjoy ANY FOOTBALL...I have absolutely missed EVERYTHING! Damn school...I will be back in a week....almost done with finals, oh I passed the MPRE!!!!

These penalties are ridiculous. It seems like every year for the past 3 or 4 years we are leading the league in penalties. But man what a great win and great game by Edge and Warner. That int on Warner was so not an int. Rod Hood had a great day. The Oline had a good day despite that goal line stand where Edge got stuffed. HORRIBLE calls by the refs today. Great game for Bryant Johnson and Morey. Great ST game for Breaston and our new punter seems to have a lot of hang time. And best of all, Rackers didnt blow another game for us!

I was there. Rackers is an assclown. Needs to be fired immediately. Doesnt matter how messed up we played in regulation, he should have hit that game winning field goal in over time. But no. He misses another one. How many times are people going to defend this clown. The playoffs probably went out the window with this loss. I stayed for the whole game... man. Bahr needs to get cut as well. Unfreaking believable. Rackers is the cancer that is infecting this loser mentality on this team. The loss is squarely on him for this one. The offense and defense did what it needed to do in over time to get the win and Rackers blew it again. With their first selection in the 2008 NFL Draft the Arizona Cardinals select... some kicker!

that was the worst coached game i ever witnessed in my life by a head coach 1. the game should of never went into ot why are we passing with alead with 7 min left i could see if it was 3rd down but all 3 downs @ its not like we were getting stuffed we were avg. 4 yds a carry 2.once we got the ball in the red zone in ot he should have kicked the field goal then he was luckey we did not fumble or get a holding call. 3. all those penalties it is a reflection of the coach, especially false starts at home, also 3 times in a game 3rd and 1 falsestart no excuse, also penalties on special teams killed us, every week we have the most penalties thats coaching,why do you think the pats are so good they never beat themselves, i am going to give coach a pass for this year but if he does not improve the disipline on this team i will bash an bash him to death. sorry guys but i am venting you do not know how long i have been a cards fan, i mean how do u just keep getting these penalties delay of game on a fg whats upwith that coach you need to step up and fix it

I am not going to lie, I am concerned about this weekend....I have a feeling that Detroit's offense might prove to be too much...they tend to run four WR's...we don't have the DB's to cover that attack! I also think teams are getting smart and they know how to shut AZ down....COVER 2, everyone is running it against us this season and its effective...we haven't learned to adjust to this ANCIENT coverage...not to mention our run game has been stifled the past few weeks....I don't know what this week will bring but I am CONCERNED...I think we might be able to get the W if we play disciplined football and stop turning the ball over and getting dumb penalties...WE DO TEND TO KILL OURSELVES SOMETIMES!
