LSU had already moved up to #2 in the BCS rankings last night with 2 minutes left to play in the BC-Va Tech game, but then as has been the case all season long, something unexpected happened - BC's Heisman candidate QB, Matt Ryan, decided to keep the BCS hostage a little longer, and took matters into his own hands. After last night's thrilling comeback win by Matt Ryan and Boston College in hostile Blacksburg, BC is still stubbornly hanging on to that #2 spot, while teams such as LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Arizona State, and "long shot" USC" and others all clammor to pass them by.
If BC loses, they could fall right out of the top 10 - definitely to the bottom of it. But, if they continue to win, they have the schedule remaining to lock up a championship berth, and if OSU wins out, then it will be OSU and BC in the Championship game, and there will be some real noise and complaints from a lot of one-loss teams that will always believe they are better.
Right now, the BCS has a problem. It will be entertaining to watch BC stay at #2 in the BCS rankings while at the same time they show up in some media polls as low as #5 - that will generate some conversations and debates among fans, media, and "experts" alike.
At this moment however, the BCS is stymied, and BC deserves to keep its #2 BCS ranking. They remain undefeated, and they just beat a strong #8 ranked team in Va Tech on the road on national TV. Even if LSU rolls this weekend, they are playing a 24th ranked team in Alabama so they will not pass by BC even with an impressive win. Now, if Penn State should upset OSU, then watch the BCS sparks fly as BC goes to #1 with LSU right behind at #2
Playoffs anyone?

Think Tyler Roche, but faster, a better scorer, and more consistent from the outside. He'll be a great 6th man or better starting in '08.
