I've used datpiff for afew mixtapes.
What up yall. Just wanted to share datpiff.com:: "The Authority in Free Mixtapes" If you didn't already know its got all kind of free mixtape downloads from the top DJ's in the world.
The new lil wayne.....American Dream (ft. Mike Tyson)
Nas, Ray Cash, little bit of Khaled today.
IPOD shuffle classic today. "If Heaven Was A Mile Away" Nas - God's Son
Rediscovered American Gangster. Fallin' has to be the best track on that album.
Agree with Agrippa. I can recite All That I Got Is You forward, backward, fast, slow. That song is a true anthem.
IPOD on shuffle and up came "All that I got is you " Ghostface Killa. One one of the best hip hop songs ever.
Listening to some old Jadakiss right now. Go back and listen to All For The Love on The Lox Money Power Respect album. Damn, if Jada really got better promotion...
I know he totally destroyed A Millie!
Holy ****! He destroyed a milli!
Asher RIPPED A Millie!
And I should raid my brother's music collection. I've been on Wu-Tang all day.
same here those guys were good.
I have gone back in the day and started listening to my Onyx tapes. I miss those dudes.
Listening to this kid Asher. He's OK. I guess I could co-sign him.
The new album is conceptual. He said it's like a movie. I can't wait.
And Ludacris and DJ Drama have a mixtape dropping soon. Can't wait to cop that.
He's this white dude who sounds a lot like Eminem in voice, but IMO the comparisons end there.
Have never heard of Asher Roth. I'll check it out.
I liked Cannon and Roth Boys too.
I saw him on Rap City, and kind of liked it. So I downloaded his mixtape, and it's pretty good. He ripped Mr. Me Too.
But in a good way. One of my favorite new rappers.
And Asher Roth is really weird.
I've heard throw it up Esco.
I throw it up like ya girls dress on prom night!!!
Who the hell took my blogging rights. Stupid cliques...
Anybody here know anything about Asher Roth?
Busta Rhymes ft/ Ludacris and Lil Wayne "Throw It Up" PIFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
No Matter What is definitely the song of the Summer.
T.I. is REAL!
No Matter what has been in heavy rotation on my ipod. It's the song of the summer, IMO.
u alll gotta hear this nice song by Lloyd Banks +50 Cent called Hands UP. I no its kinda old but its still awesome
I think that song is hot G.O.A.T.
Hey, what do you guys think about T.I.'s new song, No Matter What? It's autobiographical and really good, in my opinion.
Definitely listen to The Message. He's taking subliminal shots at Biggie.
That's not speculation by the way. He has confirmed that in several article interviews.
I've listened to most of the songs Esco just mentioned, and every single one I've heard was great.
check out my new blog about tha carter III
Well, there's where I step in.
Got Urself a Gun
Ether
Smokin'
2nd Childhood
One Mic
fugg it, all of Stillmatic
The Message
Warrior Song
Nas Is Like
NY State of Mind
Just A Moment
Look for God's Stepson. It's the album God's Son remixed by 9th Wonder.
but can someone help me out. What are some of Nas' songs I should download. I only have heard one and its one of my favorite songs (hip hop is dead)
Oh and Lil Wayne is NOT deserving of a top 3 in anybody's rankings...
...his albums are usually not that great...
I haven't had a chance to listen to every song on Tha Carter III, but I'll get around to it and then I'll let you know about that one.
Eazy-E was great, but he is not the greatest of all time when it comes to hip hop/rap artists. Personally, I HAVE to give that to Tupac...
Lupe Fiasco is a fantastic lyricist who gives his songs more than just snappy beats. He is making an effort to bring hip hop back to its more lyrical roots instead of the snap music lovefest that goes on today.
Never in my life have I forgotten Dr. Dre (who you give credit to then turn around and insult him). Once I found his music I've loved it since...
He is one of my favorite producers...
Snoop Dogg actually says he is from Long Beach.
Dr. Dre is most DEFINITELY from Compton, however Eminem has never claimed he is from Compton. He is, in fact, from Detroit, Michigan.
almost forgot, Eminem is a joke and shouldnt be taken seriously at all. Im so sick of him being the most overrated person in life. Plus hes a punk **** poser. Your not for Compton your a wanna be thug who could get his **** beat by a 13 year old. ur not hard either. stop talking about guns we all kno u dno how to use one.
Anyone notice that dre along with all of his apprentices are posers? Snoop, dre, and eminem all say they are from compton and snoop is from beverly hills!
Sorry had a lot to get out, havent been here in a while.
Oh and NWA is undisputably the greatest group of all time. That shouldnt even be an argument.
I think its very disrespectful that nowadays people are putting people like Lupe Fiasco in their top 5 rappers of all time list. All that is is IGNORANCE. It is all opinions, but if you honestly think Lupe is top 5 you should be forced to leave. He doesnt crack my top 300... yet. What ever happened to Eazy? Or Dre? People forgetting them just isnt acceptable.
1. Eazy-E (undisputed)
2. Lil Wayne (like i said its opinion but Wayne has done MORE than enough to warrant this spot)
3-5 are up in the air for me but the first 2 are in stone.
Not sure if they should win but one of my family friends was Gangstarr's road manager. I actually met Premier and Guru at a Red Lobster out in Valley Stream back in 1991 (Ironically enough it was my 10th birthday).
I had to go with the Microphone Fiend.
I love The Seed. One of my favorite songs.
Also listen to The Seed 2.0. I am a major fan of Cody ChesnuTT so the fact that he allowed the Roots to remake his song is just big to me.
Bumpin' that Star from The Roots right now. Man, I wish Black Thought blew up major right now.
You were an admin you fool.
I can't figure out why I left this group about two months ago. It's a great group.
I vote for The Roots. Black Thought is a beast. I know Rakim is the prototype for most MC's but I really got to admit that I prefer the Roots.
Hey people......Have a bomb **** Memorial Day......N Hova, dont get wasted man......LOL
I'm definitely buying that...
Where's Chengy at? We need a new poll, dammit!
That album should be good. I hope it is anyway.
I heard about that... I'm definitely going to have to invest.
Kanye, Lupe, and Pharrell joined together to create the group Child Rebel Soldiers. They have only done two songs together, Us Placers (off a Kanye mixtape) and Everybody Nose the Remix (on the recent N.E.R.D. album). Later on this year the three of them are releasing an album together. Judging by those two tracks and their collective genius, that album is going to be crazy. The name of the group is Child Rebel Soldiers. Look it up.
Anyway, what's this album you're talkin' about with Kanye, Lupe, and Pharrell?
Wu-Tang Clan ain't nuthin' ta f8ck wit!!!
The Wu done brought the ruckus. Next poll!
What am I listening to you ask? "Tick Tock" by The Alchemist featuring Nas and Prodigy.
Well Pharell really can't rap but still with those two...YES!!!
Listening to Us Placers and Everybody Nose Remix. I cannot wait for the Child Rebel Soldiers album. Damn, Lupe, Kanye, and Pharell together is just unfair.
I was pretty drunk. I still think I Love Ur Girl is a hot track.
Wu-Tang, we came to bring the pain.
Well I am assuming that since he was at a club that his judgment was impaired. You gotta give J. Hova a break.
I don't think he can sing, but that's just me.
I know he's not a rapper but I urge y'all to listen to The Dream. I went out last night to a club (hell I got in this morning like around 6...so I'm tired as HELL right now) and his music played all night. I am buying that album.
I feel you Danbash. I tried to get tickets to shows around NY. I was willing to go up to Boston or down to Philly or DC and I couldn't get nothing.
Good stuff DJ. Which Nas album did you buy? It depends because not all his albums are good ones. Some of them kind of sucked.
I've been trying to get tickets to the glow in the dark tour in DC, with Kanye, Lupe, and Rihanna, but they're damn near impossible to find.
I'm going to the Lil Wayne concert tomorrow. Chea!
I voted for the Fugees. The Score is one of my favorite albums.
How are the Fugees winning this?
I went on a hip hop binge yesterday...both Lupe albums then some Nas and Kanye. Made me feel pretty good.
Lets just give this thing to EPMD already.
44% for the EPMD....WOW
personally i like them better but, didn't realize other people did aswell
Posted an artist spotlight. I put links in it too.
I probably will be the only one who will vote for EPMD. I am not against P.E., I just like EPMD better.
I will put up a new poll tomorrow
I like Whodini but against RUN DMC I just can't do it. It has to be RUN DMC.
We need to get a new poll up. The Tribe has clearly won this one.
Can I Kick It?
I just posted a first in a four part series of blogs. Part 2 should be up by 4 O'clock today.
Parts 3 and 4 should be up tomorrow.
Make that 5. I read all the blogs and vote on all the polls.
Another thing... it always seems to be just us three around.
Yeah, it was...well, interesting to say the least.
Didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know BigBen.
But I know what you mean, Esco...
We need to just put our heads together and come up with something...
Hova, Malibu's Unwanted was a fan group on FN where everyone would just freestyle in the Locker Talk.
We are losing members. We are down to 59 now.
Malibu's Most Wanted and I liked that movie. I loved when he said the "N" Word and got tossed out the club.
I write rhymes but I'm not a rapper. It's something I do for my own personal enjoyment so I am against the freestyle idea.
I just think we should blog about the hip-hop we love. Members will come if our writing is right.
That will most likely suck... remember that Malibu's Unwanted or whatever it was called?
We could do a freestyle battle...like have a tourney or something.
Me, you and Hova need to think hard about this one.
We've got to create something to get the interest up...
The group's creator has abandoned us anyway (efbasketball)...
Wait.. we're LOSING members. We had 64 at one point. What happened?
Big Ben is right. I haven't blogged for this group since March 9 (RIP TO THE NOTORIOUS ONE!!) and I am wrong for that. I will blog for this group again. He needs all of us to keep this thing going.
Well after I get back to Ohio and we get this whole moving situation in place, I'll be able to get more active than I am. But now, I'm REALLY busy.
Hey, I'd love it if we had more diversity with our postings, but no one else is doing anything besides me. I can't count on anybody else actually contributing anymore...so I just post the video blogs so people know the group is still alive...
which it still doesn't seem is evident.
Esco said it best. Let's bring it back to where we started.
I think at this point we've gone completely away from what we started doing with this group. Now, all we do is the video blogs. When we started we had the hip hop spotlights (Talib Kweli, Jay-Z and Ray Cash were featured I think), a couple Ultimate Playlists, tributes to Biggie and Pimp C, etc. I do like the Videos, I just think that that shouldn't be the focal point of the group.
If that message wasn't clear my vote is to end the video blogs. Just not my thing, sorry guys.
I say yeah. I like the video blogs but they aren't my style. We need to go back to content and education. Back to the words...for lyrics and the word is hip-hop.
Every single one of our blogs should have at least 60 views...
I deleted it. I'm making a new one.... sometime.
I agree with BigBen about the views. We are too large a group to have such few views.
What happened to the poll?
http://goallineblitz.com/game/signup.pl?ref=3554578.
This game is the $hit. You create and manage your own ootball player.
Scarface. He gets hated on up here.
Dre 80%
Pete Rock 10%
9th Wonder 10%
Pete Rock is by far my favorite beat man of all time. Dre's prot??g??'s are amazing.
Well this ain't even close...
Dr. Dre, motha f*cka...
He gave us an innumerable number of blazing hits...
9th Wonder gets the vote but it kind of hurts to go against Dre.
I can agree with Esco and give Talib and Common their lyrical props, but the rapper that deserved to win, did.
Type in dilemma producer on google, and click on the guys myspace. This guy is one of the best up and coming producers in the game.
Results:
Jay-Z 30%
Talib Kweli 10%
Ludacris 10%
Lil Wayne 10%
Eminem 10%
Lupe Fiasco 10%
I got a lot of respect for Jigga, but there is no way he puts up better lyrics than lilweezy!
Meh, it's alright.
Dan, Lupe is raw, but Talib's been at it since '96, still to today hitting with those lyrics that even rappers respect. I may be tripping, but didn't Jay-Z say something to the effect of "Lyrically, I'd be Talib Kweli"?
I don't know how anyone who has listened to The Cool can NOT pick Lupe for best lyricist.
No disrespect for Jigga, but there's no way he's a better lyricist than Talib or Common. He's nice, no doubt, but that nice.
Hell yeah I hate Soulja Boy. I'm too damn old to be cranking anything. He's OK if you are under 18, but if there are any 18 and ups here who likes his music, they should be shot. No kidding...shot!
Everyone should Soulja Boy.
This is tough. I went with the BKMC.
Whoever votes for Soulja Boy is getting kicked out the group. I have the power to make it happen...
Had to vote for Jigga in this one. He has delivered some lyrical gems.
Soulja Boy = I made an accidental extra spot.
Just to let you know I did not vote for Jay-Z in the poll. Someone did because he has 14 percent. I just want to know why, because as much as I love Jigga, Eminem served him.
Danbash: The beats are OK. His rhyming skills are getting worse. I bootleg his albums for the beats not his content.
I never said Royce's was the best, I just said people are ranking it up there with Ether.
Am I the only one who thinks Rick Ross's tracks are getting progressively worse?
Ether=Best Diss Track ever. PERIOD.
Eh, it's alright. Nowhere near Ether, but it's good.
Who else heard the diss from about a month or two ago from Royce da 5'9" against Mistah F.A.B. Some people are calling this the best diss track since Nas' Ether.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izUa_m9IrDY
NYFAN: We don't do Soulja Boy in here. I'm not knocking you, I'm just letting you know.
That poll is joke. Eminem destroyed Jigga. I love Jigga but it's no contest. Em ate him alive on his own track.
That poll is the whip!! It is pretty unanimous so far.
Nas said it best...
And, Eminem murdered you on your own ****
Em **** bodied Jigga on Renegade.
If you like Soulja Boy, then please...click that "Leave Group" button in the top right corner...
Disagree. I listen to NOTHING Soulja Boy and I hate everything he does.
best 2 songs as of 3/15 to me are YAHHH and Sexy Can I,do u agree or disagree?
Lil Wayne is AMAZING on OTHER artists songs, but not so good on his own...he has a few good songs per album, but then he blows on most of the others.
Wayne did a thing with Robin Thicke that I liked called Shooter. I snagged it on Limewire. I likes it.
I am 50/50 on Weezy. Sometimes he's sick but sometimes he is weak. It's weird with him.
There are actually quite a few Weezy fans in the group, myself included.
does everyone in this group hate lil' wayne?
cuz he sucks.
Guys could you check out my blog called "Music With A Message"
http://justrun7.blogspot.com/
I think I will Big Ben. I still want to do an actual tribute too. I can do both.
def ugk legends in this south
You gotta break it up somehow...too many good groups...
Wow... I did a really bad job in that poll. Forgot De La Soul, the Hot Boys, A Tribe Called Quest...Damn.
If you want make a video blog with five of his videos, Hova.
My bad, The Grind is pretty hot too.
I like them. I'm falling back because I have to do something really big for the Notorious One. Yes, a Biggie Tribute is coming.
Don't forget "The Grind" series of video blogs, Hova.
Please listen to Curtis Mayfield, y'all. It's because of Curtis and his soulful, political messages, that we can have a thing called Hip-Hop in our lives.
I urge you to get down with the great Curtis Mayfield.
Got to say that these Playin' The Game Blogs are really getting people's attention.
I'm falling back off the blogging for this group but I want to do one around March 9th. I got another tribute to do.
I haven't watched Making The Band since Season 3.
I hate the name Day 26. That to me is worse then Danity Kane. What is going on with these terrible group names?
I watch Making The Band. It would have been my choice but Flav deserves top billing.
I think the Guys are going to be OK, Donnie is going to flop, and Danity Kane will once again get another platinum plaque because of the show.
I also have the Beastie Boys anthology.
My friend has a Public Enemy tape. I think it's their first release. He bought it at a thrift store really cheap. Anyways, last summer, we drove down the downtown of our city with the windows down cranking that tape. He also has Vanilla Ice's first tape, his big one. And four of us are white. It was hilarious.
Which brings me to my point, that "You're Gonna Get Yours" by Public Enemy is a great song.
Who wouldn't choose Flav? That dude is funny as hell.
Where's the "None" choice in the poll?
The best show is Snoop Dog's show on E!
No...none of them are any good...
Don't feel bad about VH1 reality Jasmine. Those shows are good.
FLAVOR FLAV!!!!!!!!!!
I stopped watching BET, MTV, and VH1 like three or four years ago...I got fed up with no music and lots of dumb shows...
106 and Park is still on? I thought they got rid of that show. I'm never home before 8 O'clock now and since I never heard anything about it I assumed it was cancelled.
106th and Park sucks now...all the video channels suck because they don't even play music...just f*cking reality shows...
Some people from my school are going to be on 106th and Park today.
Can't believe I let the anniversary of Pun's death go by. It was 4 days ago. Damn!
Once again it's going to be Pac in a run away. I already voted for him.
It's Pac in a run away. That was expected. If this was the best west coast rapper or group besides Pac, I would have voted for NWA.
Listening to Bob Marley right now. Been listening to a lot of him lately.
ay have we covered all the regions yet
We all know 2Pac is going to win this.
If Pac loses, I might disband the group.
NWA, Tupac, E-40, Snoop Dogg, The Game, and Too $hort...
I don't know who to vote for!!!!
I might just have to go with Pac...but...damn...
Big L was on the ballot, didn't get any votes. No one nominated Kool G, so he didn't get on. I only put on people who were nominated.
yea i been listenin to ray cash since he came out but why is bone thug not have any votes cant believe that one and why wasnt big L or kool g rap on the east one
Eminem gets my vote. Kanye is second though with Lupe third. Haha, that's just how the poll is.
I guess Esco and I were wrong about being the only Ray Cash heads here. I voted for Eminem but if Ray was on the poll he would have gotten my vote.
Eminem is pwning the poll....
Don't assume something like that Esco...
...I thought only me and Hova listened to Ray Cash...
Hova...I own BOTH of Buck's albums...
Hey...where's Ray Cash in the poll?
Other than maybe Weezy, no one is a better lyricist right now than Lupe Fiasco. He's talkin about real stuff, not dances and siht.
Damn, Young Buck probably only got my vote. Telling you when he leaves G-Unit and gets on a label that promotes him right he is going to smash the game.
justrun, good catch with TD and Clipse...
I luv Lil Wayne, but I forgot about Luda.
This track is crazy. I gotta vote for Luda now. Sorry Uncle Face, but it had to be done.
"Tell It Like It Is" - Ludacris
FIRE!!!!!!
Face, Luda, TIP, Jon, Buck, and Three Six are all tied up. Somebody vote, dammit!
Nobody nominated them. I only put up people who were nominated.
Outkast, The Clipse & Trick Daddy definitly needs to be on this South list
The lyrics are weak but the beat is tight. I'm talking about Dey Know from Shawty Lo. If you want to hear some real rapping over the beat get either the Dey Know remix with Luda, Weezy or the New York remix with Maino and Lil Kim.
My vote is for Young Buck. He is the best in the south. Just not promoted right. When he leaves G-Unit the world will know that this guy is HARD!
I.... don't give a fack. I don't like them anyways. Poppin' My Collar was hot, but other than that, I don't listen to them.
It's supposed to be spelled Three 6 Mafia.
Face should win. But on the heels of Jigga winning the East, I won't be surprised to see Ludacris take it.
Biggie got ripped off. Whatever. I love Jigga but Biggie should have won that.
Jay-Z got a new song out called Ain't I. It's off The Blueprint 3. You can find it off the net. I downloaded it off some Z-Share link. Took me forever to find it but it's kinda worth it.
Thats what I thought but just making sure
Somone vote! Biggie and Jay are tied and I want to move on to the South.
I was talking underground, but I only like Krazie Bone.
No love for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in that Cleveland spot?
I already know about Ray Cash. Shoot, I'm one of the few people in America who bought Cash On Delivery the day it came out.
Predicting:
Biggie in the East
Pac in the West
Face down South
Common from the Midwest
Pac wins it.
Y'all gotta get hip to Cleveland. Chip the Ripper, Ray Cash, Fat Al....
My vote is for Biggie. If he was alive, Jay-Z would have fallen in line behind him.
I think that was the dude that was on Real World New Orleans back in the day.
Biggie's up by 25%, or 1 vote.
I never heard of him. My vote is going to Nas by the way.
You guys ever heard of David Sides. I been listening to him for awhile. Hes an insanly good piano player that does all current rap & r&b songs. Check him out hes rediculous.
He deserves to be running 100%. He sucks.
Esco: Great idea on the poll and blog. I'm thinking of something strong for Friday.
Soulja Boy is running 100%
I liked This Is Why I'm Hot, but nothing else by him. And I hated Like This.
Also, easy choice for who pisses me off the most:
Soulja Boy...
You guys don't like MIMS?
Soulja Boy is an easy choice for the poll.
I absolutely abhor Soulja Boy. The dance sucks, his beats ****, his flow - don't get me started on that.
I liked D4L. Betcha Can't Do It Like Me was hard.
Who pisses me off? Easy. Soulja Boy. What in the hell is Yahh!! anyway?
I'm 26 not 16 so his crap doesn't appeal to me.
That's convinced. I'm Me was the only good one on there. The rest like you said was iffy.
I'm Me was hard. The other were iffy.
Heard The Leak. Wasn't that convinved. Need to actually hear the Carter III.
II actually have never heard of those, LoSo.
Have any of you heard Lil Wayne's EP "The Leak"?
I actually liked the songs.
From a podcast, I heard two hip hop songs you might like. They are
"Wait A Minute," by Cancer Rising,
"Butter And Guns" by Blue Scholars.
I know some real (real REAL) Kweli and Mos cats up in Fort Greene and they get mad when I talk about The Beautiful Struggle.
Glad to see Talib as the number one vote getter. He deserves it. Been listening to Quality a lot lately. That was a good album by him.
Also, real Kweli heads say The Beautiful Struggle was a pop album but I recommend it to anyone. Listen to that!!
That's why I only like typing on my Mac. It tells me when I **** up spelling.
You spelled Conscious wrong (you forgot the s).
#1: Talib
#2: Common
#3: Mos
#4 Lupe.
Good poll.
I dig Fresh young Lu.
Lupe is hot!
Thanks for the privileges.
I am a big fan of his. I know Cava is as well.
I've recently become quite the Lupe Fiasco fan. Anyone else like his music?
We been stuck on 49 forever? Lets get this group to 50!!
M.I.A. is OK. Not really into the whole British grime scene but I know she's a force in it.
No problem, man. Apology is accepted.
I have no idea why I'm saying this now, but anyways...
I'm sorry if I acted like d!.ck in the past about your group. There is nothing wrong with the hip-hop group and I was acting like an idiot.
I don't blame you DJ out of those albums I would put The Black Album least. It isn't the best of Jay-Z's albums. Listen to Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, or if you are in a pop-rap mood Vol 3 (far from his lyrical best but it's a catchy beat album).
Forgot about E.N.Y. Of course I got love for East New York. Also, let me say what up to the Do or Die Bed-Stuy.
I listened to Hip Hop is Dead, The Black Album, Straight Outta Compton, and It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back today. Probably liked Nas the most out of all of them. Jay-Z the least.
I haven't heard enough of her to decide if I'm a fan of hers or not.
What do you guys think about M.I.A.? She's getting pretty popular and I really like some of her stuff.
What about East New York, Hov? That's where my dad makes his residence.
"No vote cause "Nothin But A G Thang" aint on there"
I COMPLETELY forgot that!!!!
Reppin' Brooklyn forever! Brownsville, Flatbush, Crown Heights stand the F Up!
Jigga starts nice but...
Nah, I'm a poster for what happened seein your moms
Doin five dollars worth to work just to get a dime
So pardon my disposition
Why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?
Picture me working McDonald's
I'd rather pull a mac on you
Sorry Ms. Jackson but I'm packin
I lose it when Mos Def says: Listen
Brooklyn wins again
It's the Stuy, it's the Bush, dem ni@@az again
I liked Jigga's first line-
"Just to get by, **** I sold coke, **** I pushed lah, carried a 4 5"
Busta and Talib doesn't go together but Busta stepped up his game for that. He dropped some good 5 percenter knowledge on that.
I was actually shocked to hear Busta Rhymes... even though he was on every remix in the 90s, Busta and Talib don't seem to go together.
Get By Remix is the best thing ever. If it wasn't for Kanye that would have been an all Brooklyn remix.
But since Kanye represented I can't be too mad by that.
1. Forgot About Dre
2. Still D.R.E.
3. F**k Wit Dre Day
