Hip-Hop Fan Group

I think Wale named dropped all three on one song but yeah dude's a big sports fan. Speaking of Wale, Attention Deficit was pretty damn good.
Wale is a huge sports fan in what I've heard, too. One mixtape I heard him name drop Jeremy Shockey, Eric Mangini and Rey Mysterio.
Escobar Caesar 11/04/09
I really noticed that when he name-dropped Lane Kiffin. That kind of caught me off guard. I know he used to have a blog on ESPN, too.
Escobar Caesar 11/04/09
Agree Esco. No Ceilings was more hype than promise. The only thing I learned about Weezy is that he is one hell of a sports fan. Every freestyle had at least 1 sports referrence.
I downloaded No Ceilings, and I don't see what the big deal is. Swag Surfin was the only freestyle on there that was above average.
Escobar Caesar 11/02/09
I got So Far Gone awhile ago. Became a bit of a Drake stan so I ended up downloading a bunch of his tracks, but Uptown is pretty good. The chopped and screwed version of that is excellent.

Yeah, Drake does curse a lot. I guess he is trying to prove a point.
I copped So Far Gone finally, and it was pretty good. I'm thinking I liked Uptown best, but Fear was really good.

Also, does it seem like Drake cusses a whole lot, even by rap standards?
Escobar Caesar 10/31/09
Little Brother is boring? Damn. Oh boy the youth is spoiled. I actually got no problems with Weezy but if Gucci, Soulja Boy, and Weezy is the extent of your hip-hop knowledge then you are screwed!
My little brother had his friends over the other day, and they came up into my room to play with the PS3. I was bumping Little Brother, and they said it was "boring". One of them left their iPod in my room, and it was almost entirely Lil Wayne, Gucci and Soulja Boy. I just feel bad for the future of hip hop.
Escobar Caesar 10/28/09
Jay and Alicia Keys supposed to be performing at the Yankee game tomorrow (was supposed to be tonight but the performance got canceled due to the weather, but the game is still on). I'm taking bets: will Lil Mama try to crash the stage at Yankee Stadium? Will she even be in the building?
I tried to get into Gucci. I figured if people are talking so much about him maybe I need to give him a fair chance. Found some mixtapes and downloaded them. Played them in the car and after all that I came up with the same conclusion: he's garbage. Someone here really needs to explain the appeal because I just don't get it. I'm not hating on the South. I got love for the South but why is this dude hot?
I feel you on that. The only Gucci song I've even almost lied was the Freaky Girl remix, and that was just because of Ludacris.

I decided not to listen to Wacka Flocka because... well, because his name is Wacka Flocka. Be real.
Escobar Caesar 10/27/09
I know people don't vote on our polls but I had to put that one up on Gucci. I just don't get why people like him. Him, OJ Da Juiceman (second worst rap name ever) and some **** called Wacka Flocka Flame (WHAT IS THAT?) are on the rap blogs a lot lately and I just don't get the appeal. Someone needs to explain it to me. Not hating but to me they are garbage. Especially Gucci.
Still listening to The Salvation. Lord knows I mentioned Sky in a few of these blogs but I got into some of his mixtapes (back when you can actually find bootleggers on Brooklyn streets...damn Bloomberg!!!) so of course I ran out to buy his album the day it came out. Had to wait for some lazy ass dude to go in the stockroom at Target and get me one but I still got it.
Yeah, Skyzoo is my cat. The song he did with Wale on the Back to the Feature mixtape went super hard.
Escobar Caesar 10/23/09
Sorry I haven't posted in forever. I have been in and out of the loop while I fight the urge to leave FanNation. Came close a few times but still here.

On the hip-hop front: Still got OB4CL2 in rotation but I also copped Skyzoo's The Salvation. If you missed East Coast lyricism and beats you should check him out. Real Brooklyn stuff.

Anyway guys I'm here. Just in and out.
Like I said, favorite track on the album is Empire State of Mind. While I'm on the topic, who told Lil Mama she was relevant enough to get on stage while Jay and Alicia were performing?
Escobar Caesar 09/14/09
I like that Jay worked with Drake and Kid Cudi as well. Not too crazy over Off That, but I really like Already Home. That was good by me.
Kudos to Jigga for working with the young dudes like Drake and Kid Cudi. As hip hop's elder statesman, I think it was important for him to do that.
Escobar Caesar 09/13/09
I bought it, and I was pleasantly surprised. Very good CD.
Escobar Caesar 09/13/09
I guess I'll go get it, I have nothing better to spend my money on...

Oh, and that new Drake song "Fear" is pretty good.
Escobar Caesar 09/09/09
My bad: Meant My First Song. The last joint on The Black Album.
Blueprint 3 came out yesterday. I got it, and honestly I liked it. It's not in his top 5 best albums but compared with the crap he has released lately, its better than that. Didnt like that last track Young Forever though. Looked like he was trying to duplicate My Way or My Last Song and missed the part entirely. He has made many songs at the closing of an album as a sort of tribute to himself that doing it again on BP3 was pointless.
Man, stuff has been super slow. Nas & Damian Marley are supposed to drop soon, so is Wale. Hopefully it'll pick up in the near future.
Escobar Caesar 09/06/09
Beanie Sigel has a new album out?
Escobar Caesar 09/03/09
Will get Blueprint 3 for the sake of being a fan of Jigga but I got to agree that what I'm hearing so far isn't very good.
The newer stuff I've heard on BP3 has been awful, with the exception of the song with Alicia Keys. I doubt if I'll cop it.
Escobar Caesar 08/31/09
It was good for a recent Eminem verse. Again, I would have liked the whole song better without Drake.
Escobar Caesar 08/28/09
You thought Eminem was good? I didn't to be honest. Don't think any of them brought their A-game on that.
I'm still torn on how I feel about the Forever song. Eminem had a good verse, but Kanye and Wayne came kind of weak. I don't like Drake, so he's not in the question.
Escobar Caesar 08/27/09
Just got back from the NY, and brought Slaughterhouse with me. Excellent CD.
Escobar Caesar 08/22/09
Got my copy of Slaughterhouse real late but its good as expected.
I know people hate on Drake (and I more than understand why they do) but I have been listening to So Far Gone a lot lately.
Alright, hitting up New York again. I'll be gone for like 2 or 3 weeks.
Escobar Caesar 07/18/09
I liked DOA, and Brooklyn Go Hard is my cut. It already has heavy play on my iPod. Hopefully the whole album is like that.
Escobar Caesar 07/16/09
The Roc had their moment. Then stupid **** brought it all to an end.

Still waiting on Blueprint 3 and as much as I ride with Jigga, I got a feeling it's going to be trash. Wrong of me to say, I know.
Haven't really heard nothing from this dude, but I'll check him out. I was listening to some old school Roc, Young Chris, Freeway and them earlier.
Escobar Caesar 07/15/09
Group been dead for a minute. Anyway, been listening to J. Cole's The Warm Up mixtape. Don't know if Jay-Z finally going to do something with an artist but the kid can rhyme so here's hoping he can find success on Roc Nation.
I've been completely out of the loop as far as hip hop goes... but I do know Slaughterhouse dropped a new song today.
Escobar Caesar 07/07/09
Another 50 Cent post from me (shocking I know): Forever King which is a 90's related mixtape came out on Friday on his website.

That one wasn't bad either.
I am not the biggest 50 Cent fan but War Angel wasn't that bad. I still hate the name but this is the best I have heard of Curtis Jackson in years.
I know this is a Hip-Hop Group but Rest In Peace to Michael Jackson. Being born just before the start of his great solo career, he's someone who I grew up with. He's an icon, a legend, and he will be missed.

R.I.P. to M.J.
Right, it's not like the South is minus talent. They got some very talented rappers down there, but the choose to focus on those four no-talents for some strange reason.

And OJ da Juiceman looks like a rat.
Escobar Caesar 06/25/09
I read XXL but I skipped that cover. I don't know why them 4 fools got a cover page. If XXL wanted to show the ATL some love they could have gotten Luda, Jeezy, Outkast or something like that.
XXL has Soulja Boy, OJ da Juiceman, Gucci Man, and Shawty Lo, showing off their jewels and basically being a bunch of ****.

And people wonder why I say I hate hip hop.
Escobar Caesar 06/24/09
Mos is fire. Hot album from Mos Def. Real hot.
Oh, and that new Wale is amazing as well. And Ludacris has a song with Damian Marley. Things are looking up this week.
Escobar Caesar 06/22/09
Just go back from Brooklyn again... copped that Mos Def. One word. Fire.
Escobar Caesar 06/22/09
I heard the Lupe single. Wasn't feeling it. I also heard the Slaughterhouse freestyle on D.O.A. and all I got to say is that we got a problem. Those 4 dudes is vicious.
I really thought it was cool to use the whole Kobe, LeBron hook. Not a bad idea with the commercials and all.
24-23 was a decent track by Jeezy. I liked how he flipped the Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman references.

First of all I have no idea why Gucci and OJ are popular anyway. Both of them are corny to me, but that's the South for you.
...and Jeezy dissed Gucci Mane and OJ da Juiceman. Good stuff.
Escobar Caesar 06/17/09
Speaking of which... they did a 15 minute freestyle on Death of Auto-Tune.

And Lupe Fiasco dropped a new single, too.
Escobar Caesar 06/16/09
At least J Hood came to half sense. Now full sense would be to leave Slaughterhouse alone. Those dudes will murder him one by one.
J-Hood finally wisened up and stopped throwing barbs at Sheek and Jada. He seemed like he was surprised when SP still dissed him after he said he was cool with Styles but had beef with Kiss and Louch.

But he's still trying to battle with Slaughterhouse.
Escobar Caesar 06/15/09
Yeah, I heard Uncle Murda from E.N.Y.

Them projects out there are serious.
I heard about Uncle Murda and G-Unit. To my knowledge he's still ROC but Jay might do with Murda what he did to Freeway and get him involved with a joint venture. Free was (and might still be) Roc/G-Unit.
Is Uncle Murda still down? I heard he might be headed to G-Unit.

On a side note, Uncle Murda is from the same projects as my dad and uncles. I wouldn't be surprised if I've met him in the past...
Escobar Caesar 06/12/09
Yeah, the Roc is over but truth is the Roc died when Dame and Jay split. That label was never the same after that.
So with Jay-Z at Live Nation is this the official end of the Roc? Not that they've been doing anything anyways..
Escobar Caesar 06/12/09
Freeway to Young Money? Oh that will be the death of him.
I can't mess with anybody on Young Money. I don't like any of them.

I heard Freeway is moving over there, though.
Escobar Caesar 06/08/09
I'm guessing both of them are getting the hype because of their Lil' Wayne connections. Actually, I'm sure that's the damn reason.
Been listening to a lot of Drake lately. He all right but not sure he's worth all the hype he's getting.

Anyway, right now I'm listening to a Best I Ever Had remix with Nicki Minaj, who also gets a lot of hype for no good reason. Her voice is annoying.
Most def. No surprise at all T.I. made up with Luda and did On Top of the World and Wish You Would with him.
Escobar Caesar 06/05/09
Luda definitely deserves his respect and the good thing about him is that he gets it.

He put T.I. to shame though. T.I. might really run around calling himself the King but after War With God and some of the mixtape stuff that Luda did, I would have fallen back.

Especially War with God. That **** right there is ****' vicious. He ain't even have to name the guy to know who he was talking about.
On the flip side, Ludacris is a dude who I can't remember getting bodied. Try and make a list of dudes who he's gotten. Um... Jay-Z, Nas, Jadakiss, Bun B, T.I., Big Boi, Chamillionaire, The Game, 50 Cent, Young Buck, Rick Ross, Jermaine Dupri, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Juelz Santana, Cam'Ron, Trick Daddy...

That's a damn impressive list.
Escobar Caesar 06/01/09
Words cannot describe my excitement for this Slaughterhouse album. I think it's gonna be one of the most lyrical releases ever.

And mark my words, Crooked I is, bar for bar, the greatest West Coast MC ever.
Danbash 06/01/09
On Bring It On, Jay, Jaz, and Sauce Money was just in that zone. I want to give Jay the edge but I get your point on Sauce. He goes in on that.
I actually thought Nas got the better of Jay on Black Republican. Anyway I agree with the fact that Jay tends to get outshined on features but I got to disagree on Get Throwed. I think Jay more than held his own on that track.
Well, not Get Throwed.
Escobar Caesar 06/01/09
I was listening to Ether today and was thinking... Renegade's not the only time Jay-Z's been bodied. He got tossed by Bun B on Big Pimpin' and Get Throwed, Ludacris on I Do It For Hip Hop, Biggie in Brooklyn's Finest, Fabolous on Brooklyn, Killer Mike and Twista on Poppin' Tags, and you could argue Sauce Money had a better verse on Bring It On.

Though he did get Nas on Black Republican, and Scarface on Guess Who's Back.
Escobar Caesar 06/01/09
Copped that, too... it'll probably be the last album I buy until Slaughterhouse drops.
Escobar Caesar 05/30/09
Blackout 2 is damn good too. I got my hands on that yesterday. Damn shame they didn't sell major units.
And Meth and Red only sold 63K. Shame.
Escobar Caesar 05/29/09
I'm shocked that he did 600K. I still do not want to buy Relapse though. I'm just going to bootleg it or rip it off the 'net.
So... Eminem sold 600K. Did better than I expected him, considering as how all the singles were crap.
Escobar Caesar 05/28/09
Right, I couldn't think of it and was too lazy to look.
Escobar Caesar 05/28/09
The track is It's Hot.
That would be In My Lifetime Volume 3.
What album was it that had the diss Jay-Z did towards 50 Cent after how to rob?
Escobar Caesar 05/26/09
Steve Stoute thought Nature was better than Cormega, that's why he got bounced.

If Steve Stoute wasn't such a lousy judge of talent, The Firm album may have been one of the best albums to come out.
Escobar Caesar 05/26/09
Yeah, big ups to 0x.
Escobar Caesar 05/26/09
0x makes it 100!

YEAH!
Agree about Cormega. Everytime I listen to The Firm album I always wondered how much better it would have been if 'Mega was on it and not Nature. Nature was just garbage.
If AZ, Nas and Cormega ever got together on a reunion track, that would be some crazy ****.

Oh, and Slaughterhouse drops on July 7
Escobar Caesar 05/25/09
100th member! Lookin forward to this group.
I'll give ya that Jay isn't the best battle rapper, but he can certainly bring the fire. There are about 3-4 songs on Blueprint 2 that come to mind.

As for AZ/Nas, Nas is more consistently in the spotlight, but both artists suffer from a lack of consistency in great song-making. That said, AZ and Nas are both extremely talented, but when it comes to flow/lyrics mixed, AZ's earlier stuff could touch Nas at any point in his career. Now, AZ only spits dope on about 1 in 4 tracks.
No Jay will never be a battler. Takeover aside. That was well researched and done on his part but he's definitely not a guy who's good for the battle.
AZ did body him. I have to admit that myself.

A couple of months ago XXL had an article about the making of Illmatic. It was pretty good stuff. Apparently Nas lost his rhyme book on the train the day he was supposed to do Life's A **** and he forgot most of what he wrote. He said that what he had written was better than what he spit that day in the studio.
1 member away from 100. Good stuff.
Escobar Caesar 05/22/09
Me and some of my peoples were talking about this earlier... you know I'm a Nas fan, but can't nobody tell me AZ didn't body him on Life's a ****.
Escobar Caesar 05/22/09
Jay attracts all types of controversy, but he'll never be confused with a battle rapper, that's for sure.
Escobar Caesar 05/22/09
That's one of my beefs with Jigga actually. Instead of the slick lines, he needs to just come with it. Nothing wrong with a healthy beef, as long as its kept on wax, and instead of dancing around the subject he should just go in.
The only time I heard Jay really respond to Jaz O was on an interview with Angie Martinez on Hot 97 some years ago when Jaz claimed he produced some tracks on Reasonable Doubt and wasn't paid for it.

Jay didn't even dis Jaz in person on a track. He got Freeway and Memphis Bleek to do his dirty work. Well Bleek had a beef anyway because Jaz made public the robbing of his Roc-A-Fella chain in Brooklyn. Actually the robbing of two of his chains. Not too far from Marcy Projects actually.
Oh right, he said and even Jaz' bum ass or something like that on there. Jay sends little sly remarks to everybody, now that I think about it. Hell, he even dissed Prodigy who hasn't been relevant since... a long time ago.

In fact, the only people who I can remember Jay devoting and entire song to are Nas, Jim Jones and Mobb Deep.
Escobar Caesar 05/21/09
Jay said some stuff about Jaz on that Luda joint "Do It For Hip-Hop". I actually like Jaz-O. Ova, Return Of The King, and Friends Betrayed are some nice diss tracks. He really can rhyme but because of his age he does come off as dated and corny to a lot of listeners.

As far as Jay responding? Nah, Jigga isn't going to waste doing a whole track on Jaz. You are going to see more of the same from him which is a lot of slick one-liners in songs.
When did Jaz-O suddenly spring back into the picture taking pot shots at Jigga? I forgot this dude existed, honestly.

And does he really think Jay cares enough about him to respond?
Escobar Caesar 05/20/09
As far as I am concerned you can rap until 100 as long as you are still relevant. It's when these guys come off as extremely dated and corny is when I think it's time to hang up the microphone.
I'm not one of those who thinks that after a rapper turns a certain age he can't rap anymore, but there comes a time when these **** gotta realize how old they are. Maybe they'll find a gray hair or something and wise up...
Escobar Caesar 05/19/09
Busta is about 38. I'm not looking it up but considering Jay is turning 40 in December and Busta was about a year or two behind him at Westinghouse so 38 sounds about right.
I think Busta's trying to hard to make music that appeals to kids out today, not realizing he's like... what, 38?
Escobar Caesar 05/19/09
I wasn't feeling the new Busta Rhymes album either. I'm not sure if that album was weak because of label politics or it just was Busta not coming correct.
Oh Dan, you asked me about the Get By remix (yeah it was like 4 months ago, but whatever) if you go to Jamglue.com they have it there for download.
Escobar Caesar 05/18/09
I forgot about Busta.. that newest song, the one with Jamie Foxx, MJB, John Legend is cool, and Respect my Conglomerate is ok. I'm disappointed that the one he did with Ludacris and Lil Wayne's not making the ablum, that song was ill.
Escobar Caesar 05/18/09
The Chef said the new album is officially dropping in August, but I wouldn't count on it.

As for Relapse and BO2, I thoroughly enjoyed both. Probably will only buy BO2 because Red and Mef can use all the support they can get.

Also Busta's album was pure basura. Dude needs to stop rapping 'bout drugs and make party songs again.
Danbash 05/17/09
Shaolin finally making some noise... now all we need is the Chef to get around to making Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2.
Escobar Caesar 05/15/09
Trust me I'm not getting Relapse. Going to rip it off the internet. For some reason Relapse is coming off like Kingdom Come to me. It's a comeback album but it's not a hot album. If you a fan you going to get it but it's not going to make you love it.

Blackout 2? Hell yes.
**** Eminem, cop that Blackout 2! I've got my hopes up for this album.
Escobar Caesar 05/14/09
The only artists I think could self-sustain are the Swagger Like Us crew - Jigga, Wayne, Kanye and T.I. They're the only ones with enough appeal to be able to get it done themselves. It really is a shame.
Escobar Caesar 05/14/09
It would definitely be nice if their was a hip-hop label that actually did promotion because there are only so few artists that are good at promoting themselves.
We definitely need Russ back in charge.

Now that I think about it, we need to have a hip hop label that's actually for the artists and will promote and come out with their music. It'll never happen, but it would be nice.
Escobar Caesar 05/13/09
Yeah they are an R&B label now. You can thank L.A. Reid for that.
Def Jam is too much of an R&B label. Chrisette Michele, Rihanna and all the seem to be getting all the good looks.
Escobar Caesar 05/12/09
Juelz has that same problem with Def Jam by the way. I want to blame L.A. Reid but even when Jay was President of the label he really didn't do anything to put artist out there.

I forgot to tack Rick Ross onto Def Jam artists that get promo but Ross had to start a beef with 50 to even get that.
Lloyd Banks is too tied up with 50 but I pray he doesn't go to Def Jam. Def Jam stalls artists and when their albums come out they get no promotion. Look at Jada. That album was good (by his standards) and he got no promo. The same is going to happen to Fab and anyone else on that label not named Jay-Z or Kanye West.

Def Jam just doesn't know how to promote their artists anymore. It's been that way since Russell Simmons walked away from the label.
I am hoping for another Eminem album because I really keep trying to get myself up for Relapse but I am not feeling these songs.

Also, if there is a second album he needs to drop this annoying voice he's developing. That voice turns me off before he even completes the first 16.
Eminem's second album that's to come out this year is supposed to be off it. DJ Premier beats, a song with Jay-Z, one with Nas, another with Luda, some dedications to Proof and some barbs towards Ricky Ross. Of course, knowing Aftermath, it won't happen.
Escobar Caesar 05/11/09
Banks is too tied up with 50, but I'm hearing he might get a release from Interscope and head over to Def Jam. Hopefully, he'll get that look... also heard he's working on a track with Fabolous, Jadakiss and Juelz Santana. If that ever materializes, it'll be straight bananas.
Escobar Caesar 05/11/09
Lloyd Banks is nice. He goes off on his mixtapes. If he could just bring that same kind of fire to an album, it would be a different story for him.

Fabolous is somewhat similar. He's had more success than Banks because of his more "pop" offerings but he's also a beast on the mixtapes.
I'm trying to decide who's my favorite rapper who goes on other people's beats. It used to be Wayne, but he's entirely too over-saturated. I'm feeling Fabolous, he's done some work on Brooklyn Go Hard, Nas Is Like, Poppin Them Thangs, Let the Beat Build, and Barry Bonds.

Lloyd Banks is nice too.
Escobar Caesar 05/09/09
Oh I know Em will sell. I expect him too. I just don't want to buy it. I'll probably download it or just burn a copy of Relapse. I'm just not feeling what I'm hearing so far.
I was feeling Get It In Ohio, but I'm hearing it won't be on the album. No me gusta.

And Em will still probably sell 500K first week, he's got hella stans.
Escobar Caesar 05/08/09
Cam'ron is back. Crime Pays comes out on May 12. Now I know Cam is hit and miss with a lot of people but I want to hear this album.
It's official. I am not wating on Relapse. Sorry but all the leaked tracks I have heard, sucked. Eminem isn't coming back strong. That's for damn sure.
I kind of liked Puffy's take-that adlib.
It's annoying, but better than "take that, take that" in all the 90s-00s Bad Boy songs. Or the ad-libs DJ Clue, Trapaholics, DJ Drama, Funkmaster Flex, and everybody feel necessary to do.
Escobar Caesar 05/06/09
True but I can't stand that Cannon drop of his.
Don Cannon might be my new favorite producer. Homeboy's body of work is undeniable. You got Go Crazy, Mr. 17.5 and Circulate with Jeezy; The Ary of Storytellin' Pt. 4 with 'Kast; Everybody Hates Chris and Undisputed with Luda... he's got some straight fire beats going on. His sample are on point, on top of almost any other prooducer in the game right now.
Escobar Caesar 05/05/09
True. Their butchery of the English language is hard to take. In small doses I could live with it, but for an entire album it's miserable to listen to.

I dont hate the South either but I don't want to hear an album from every Southern artist alive
I don't hate the South... but those **** who act like they can't speak english (OJ, Gucci, Young Dro, etc) irk me something serious.

It's not the south - or even the A - as a whole because we see the 3 Stacks, the Goodie Mobs, the Ludas who spit fire - and do so legibly. I can't take those country ass "trap star" ****. Dudes up here trying to use they slang and terminology and whatnot... Y'ALL **** IS FROM OHIO! The Midwest!
Escobar Caesar 05/04/09
I just think Em needs to make a throwaway album. Relapse is going to be that album. Shake off the rust by putting out the crap he has so far and come back to beat our heads in on the second album.
Yes, I hate OJ da Juiceman. I really do. Enough with the adlibs, Atlanta. ENOUGH!
Anybody else hate OJ da Juiceman?

Aye! OK! Aye! Aye! OK!
Escobar Caesar 05/01/09
Shaolin is popping right now. Ayo, 4 Minutes to Lockdown and that song with Bun B are straight fire.

Em? I thinks it's been a bit too long for him.
Escobar Caesar 05/01/09
I heard one song on the radio on Funkmaster Flex's program on Hot 97. I liked it, but I haven't heard anything else.

Not sure about Relapse. Everything I heard so far sounds corny to me. I'm still a fan of Eminem's but I'm hoping 3 A.M. and We Made You are either not on the album. They both weak to me.
Anyone else hear about Meth and Red's new album? Dropping the same day as Relapse. Crazy as it sounds, from the leaks I've heard, I'm WAY more excited for Blackout 2.
Danbash 04/30/09
Must be sleeping under a rock. I didn't know about that lineup?
I really want to go to Rock the Bells when it hits New York. Nas, Damian Marley, Slaughterhouse, KRS-One, Busta Rhymes, Big Boi, Common, Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek, The Roots, K'naan, RZA, GZA & The Chef??? ALL DAY.
Escobar Caesar 04/27/09
Heard Slim Thug's. It was pretty good.
I thought about copping Deeper Than Rap, but... I just didn't. The songs I already have (read: stole) are nice though.

Slim Thug's album was pretty good, too. Did a track with Devin the Dude that's off it.
Escobar Caesar 04/27/09
Yeah it's been awhile since we had a rap convo but I'm going to give one now.

I actually bought Deeper Than Rap and I liked it. All I have to say is that Ross, and Justice League (great producers) can make one listenable album. This is his third album and I liked them all.
'Sup Dan... we're talking about everything but rap.
Escobar Caesar 04/25/09
Damn... it's been a while. How's everyone doing?
Danbash 04/24/09
I feel you... my native tongue is ebonics.
Escobar Caesar 04/24/09
Not bad. I was never good with any foreign language so I'll just stick with English.

Shoot, I'm not even good with that.
I know enough to spit passable game... this one girl told me it's to the point where it's no longer pitiable and now kind of cute... I'm gonna call that a win.

Plus, I've got all my boys who can bail me out when needed. I went to San Juan with one of my homies in June, he hooked me up so I think I'll be set. At least they're not the type to tell me to say the wrong thing.
Escobar Caesar 04/23/09
Learn a little Spanish so you can conversate better with the girls.

Who am I kidding? I used to fail that stuff in school.
I've been trying to get into my Dominican roots a little bit more, listen to reggaeton, some merengue, Dominican rock, all that.

I should also probably learn some more Spanish. It's a shame that I don't know it, what with a Dominican grandmother and growing up in a Puerto Rican neighborhood.
Escobar Caesar 04/22/09
Great stuff, Esco. I always got love for the old school. Especially since so many of those singers have been sampled to create hip-hop anyway.

I've been listening to a lot of my dad's old records but considering my dad is from Trinidad I have been listening to a lot of old Calypso and Soca music.
I've been listening to my mom's old school 70s-80s era R&B albums. Donny Hathaway, Isaac Hayes, etc... classic music.
Escobar Caesar 04/21/09
Great stuff about the Kilimanjaro climb. Hope those guys pull that off.

Going to look out for Mekka Don and I think we can all agree about the fineness of spanish chicks.
Lupe Fiasco and Justin Timberlake are set to make a climb up Mount Kilimanjaro (the world's largest freestanding mountain) with Ethiopian musician Kenna this fall.

The climb is to raise awareness of the global water crisis. Justin said recently: "I've been training four times a week to get my VO2 - oxygen consumption - levels up to expand my lungs. We'll climb for a week straight, carrying 30 lbs on our backs. It's going to be intense, but it's going to be so rewarding.

"We're going to be ready for it." said Kenna. "My dad almost died as a child from waterborne diseases in Ethiopia, and he had talked to me about digging a well there, and I thought, 'I have too many friends who would be concerned with the subject of clean water. Maybe I can help out.' "
Agrippa GODSON 04/20/09
ESCO! We need to get this group alive again
Agrippa GODSON 04/20/09
Kind of homerism here, because this dude is from Ohio... but Mekka Don is ill. Underground rapper from Columbus, graduated from O-State with a law degree, was a walk-on for the football team, and now he's rapping. Sounds a lot like Tupac.
Escobar Caesar 04/20/09
She's ridiculously fine... curves everywhere.. DAMN!

Oh, and whatup to J_E_T_S, welcome to the group.
Escobar Caesar 04/20/09
spanish women are the best. ever since I saw desperado back in 4th grade I was hooked.
J_E_T_S: 04/20/09
Got to agree with you on light-skinned girls. Them, spanish chicks and indian girls rate highly with me.
Half Puerto-Rican, Half Indian? DAMN! That there is one bad combination. She got to be bad...
I had to think hard about this, but I'm thinking my favorite is a tie between light-skinned black girls and mixed girls. Not just black-white, but like a mixture of ethnicities is really nice to me. I know this girl in East New York who's half Puerto Rican half Indian... by FAR the baddest girl I've ever met in my life.
Escobar Caesar 04/16/09
Indian girls are actually my favorite. Hard to explain. I might have to write an essay about that. Not a blog, an essay.

Anyway, Detox will never come out and if it does it's going to be outdated as hell.
Oh, and Detox isn't coming out until after Eminem's second album this year. Otherwise known as "Detox isn't coming out".

1 more thing: Indian girls are VERY underrated.
Escobar Caesar 04/12/09
Nas and Damian Marley got some new ish planned... hope that sees the light.

Eminem's new video seemed like he was trying too hard to recreate The Real Slim Shady.

50 Cent apparently is ending his "beef" with Nas.... and Trick Daddy has an autobiography coming out.

Oh, and I don't particularly like Asher Roth anymore.

Aaaand that's all that's going on in hip-hop.
Escobar Caesar 04/12/09
I heard the new Meth & Red. Good stuff.

As far as J-Hood...anyone and everyone will murder him. He just needs to just go somewhere and get his craft right before he goes at names. That name calling stuff is only good when you are nice enough to back it up. J-Hood isn't nice.
Well I'll be! New **** from Method and Red!
Escobar Caesar 04/10/09
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVbPjUgZobA

^ At least I have an excuse to post one of the illest diss tracks ever.
Escobar Caesar 04/09/09
I mean... doesn't have an agent or labelhead or DJ or friend or SOMETHING to tell him that's not a good idea? First off, Jadakiss will murk J-Hoodrat by himself. We saw what he did to 50, back when 50 was relevant. Second, regardless of if he disses Styles directly (I don't think he did) Styles will ALWAYS ride with Jadakiss. He definitely won't ride with Hood's punk ass.

And then there's Slaughterhouse. Nickel Nine went up with Eminem. Joe Budden's gone toe to toe with Jigga.

What's next, is this **** gonna go after Mos and 3 Stacks? Kweli and Common? Killer Mike and Ludacris? I really, really want to see J-Hood get murked on the mike by any and everybody.
Escobar Caesar 04/09/09
J-Hood? I only heard him spit one good bar in his life. Poor fool will either get sonned by The L.O.X. or murdered by Slaughterhouse. Shoot, he'll get both.
J-Hood is taking on The L.O.X. and Slaughterhouse. At the same time.
He also looks like a weasel and can't rap very well.
Escobar Caesar 04/08/09
Yeah, I guess this place has turned into our own personal forum. That's sad.
Oh. You had me worried there for a second. I too would have a lot of alimony payments there.
No, I really don't think so.

Oh, and I was just talking as if I had put a ring on it everytime I liked a girl.
Escobar Caesar 04/08/09
It seems this message board has turned into the Esco and J. HOVA show. Damn, is anyone else here?
Alimony? That's some marriage stuff, don't tell me you put a rock on some chick?
So much alimony.... and I'm not even out of high school yet... ****, like Big Pun said "I don't wanna be a playa no more"
Escobar Caesar 04/03/09
You sang it the right way, Esco. That's exactly what I think to. If I like it, I hit it but I'm not trying to marry you because I like you. Shoot, if I married every girl I liked I would be divorced a whole bunch of times already.
Right... If I loved it then I would of put a ring on, but I just liked it so all I did was hit it...

I almost got slapped for singing it like that before.
Escobar Caesar 04/03/09
I hate Beyonce for that song. First of all I am not putting a ring on if I like it. Aren't I supposed to love it if I engage her?
That whole "strong independent black woman" thing... kind of scary, in my opinion.

Oh, and **** Beyonce for that Put a Ring On It thing. Every dude's nightmare when his girl is singing that.
Escobar Caesar 04/02/09
Nah, they are no where near as rude. Just some girls go too far with that...but I also would never say that within earshot of some sista.
They aren't quite as rude as black girls either. No way in hell I'd say that with a black girl near me, but still.
Escobar Caesar 04/01/09
See, it's that Papi stuff. They know what that does to a man. They know...
Well yeah... and every now and then she calls me Papi... which I'm particularly fond of.
Escobar Caesar 03/31/09
Esco: You know you trying to get at the dude's sister. Not that I blame you dude, because I too got a soft spot for Puerto Rican girls. It's probably a combination of their attitudes and their booty.
Wouldn't replace anyone in Slaughterhouse but if they want to go 5 deep then Killer Mike would be a great addition. I have no idea why Killer Mike doesn't get more respect though in the game. The guy really is lyrical.
I hate to bring up Slaughterhouse again... wait, no I don't. Anyways, I think they perfected the group. There's only one rapper out who I can think of that fits their mold and could get in the group - Killer Mike. But, who would he replace? Um.... nobody.
Escobar Caesar 03/27/09
Had to give that Capital Punishment to one of my Puerto Rican homies. I've been over their crib a lot lately. That may or may not be because I'm trying to get at his sister.
Escobar Caesar 03/27/09
Illmatic all day. 10 tracks of pure gold. No filler, No B.S. just rhymes.

Capital Punishment is solid too. When I first heard Beware I was hooked on Pun. Also, I got to give a nod to Caribbean Connection because up to then I didn't know Wyclef could actually stand up to someone who rhymed with street substance. He held his own there in my opinion.
Copped Illmatic, Capital Punishment, Aquemini and J Dilla Donuts from JR Music World in NY. That Life's A **** Remix is one of the better remixes ever. Beat is so much better than the original.
Escobar Caesar 03/25/09
So Dre's not using any leaked songs on his "album"?

Shame. That song with T.I. and Nas is flame.
Escobar Caesar 03/16/09
Yeah, Slaughterhouse is sick. Those 4 have put people on notice.
Gahdamn! Wack MCs, Slaughterhouse's new song? FIRE. Joe Budden : "You gotta name Loso to have a fabulous quote"
Escobar Caesar 03/16/09
I've been bumping a lot of older Southern rap lately. UGK, Geto Boys, 8Ball & MJG, Outkast, Devin the Dude... Devin's become one of my favorites lately.
Escobar Caesar 03/15/09
Slaughterhouse should be vicious. Those are 4 extremely lyrical cats. Plus, I have become a big fan of Royce Da 5'9". About time that guy gets the recongnition he deserves.
Rest In Peace to the late great, Notorious B.I.G.

Biggie, 12 years gone, but never forgotten.
Cool, Esco. Stay up.
Well I'm in Brooklyn, USA starting tomorrow morning till next week, so if you don't see me that's why.
Escobar Caesar 03/06/09
Heh... check Joell Ortiz' Covering the Classics...

Slaughterhouse is really the only thing I've been checking for new lately.
Escobar Caesar 03/04/09
First time I heard it on SOHH and you know Reckless' negative ass... But it sucked anyways.

Funny story about Gucci, he came here 3 weeks after his concert was originally scheduled, and about eh... 25 people showed up. He's not coming back anytime soon.

And by "soon" I mean ever.
Escobar Caesar 03/04/09
Ron Browz does need to go back to producing and leaving the autotune alone. Actually, everyone needs to leave the autotune alone.

The first time I heard Jumping Out of Windows I thought it was OK but then again I was kinda tipsy. When I heard it sober, it sucked.
Gucci Mane? Oh lord help those poor lost souls. Well actually, I did like Freaky Gurl but other then that how in the heck could you convincingly say you like Gucci Mane?
I liked Ron Browz better when he was producing Ether and being quiet.

At least no one I know likes "Jumping Out Windows"... they're too busy bumping *shudder* Gucci Mane.
Escobar Caesar 03/03/09
Ron Browz? Damn, why did hip-hop have to let him into the game.

Heard a lot of Cam's new stuff and it looks like Killa is back. Thank God because I am getting sick of Jimmy.
And Cam'ron dropped an ode to the Midwest called "Get It In Ohio"... maybe I'm biased (I am) but this is pretty raw.
Escobar Caesar 02/27/09
True, very true....

Also, Reflection Eternal is apparently back, which is better than Ron Browz or whatever these kids listen to nowadays.
Escobar Caesar 02/25/09
Been around but this site getting stale to me.
What's this motherfuckin rap game without L?
Yo, that's like jewels without ice
That's like china without rice
or the Holy Bible without Christ
or the Bulls without Mike
or crackheads without pipes
The Village without ****
or hockey games without fights

Damn... put it on, Big L.
Escobar Caesar 02/16/09
Word is bond...
Escobar Caesar 02/14/09
February is a tough month for hip-hop passings. Big Pun, Big L, and J. Dilla all passed on this month. We missed Dilla who was on Feb. 10 and Big L. is on Feb 15th.

May their collective souls rest in peace, and may we all be greatful for their contributions to what we call hip-hop.
Could not believe that it has been 9 years since Pun passed. Best believe, I listened to no one else but him yesterday.

Feb. 7 2000, never forget Big Punisher!
R.I.P. Big Pun
Escobar Caesar 02/07/09
We got to do something while we cross the country.
Yeah...you're probably right, Esco...

but we might as well look around whil we're on the way to California...
Big Ben68 02/05/09
Midwest ain't that bad. We've got... Ray Cash... and um... Lupe and uh... Brother Ali and.... think that might be it.
Escobar Caesar 02/04/09
Good plan BigBen68. I especially like the BS rappers in NY part. We got too many weak MC's right now.
Also, we need to beat some sense back into Mr. Carter...

Maybe put him in detox while we're at it.
Big Ben68 02/04/09
Hova, we start with Soulja Boy and make a sweep through the majority of the south, then head to NY to dispatch the BS rappers up there, then head back down south because we'll end up with more **** down there again because they pop up faster than...I don't even know an appropriate metaphor. Then maybe hit up the midwest...see who we can hunt down over there...

Then we wait to see if all is better.

lqtm...

I can't wait for Relapse...and I've been waiting for Detox since my sophomore year of high school when I found out about it.

It's so close I can almost hear it...
Big Ben68 02/04/09
The cartoon response was weak. Also, the trickin' on the baby momma was funny but desperate. 50 needs to keep it on wax and avoid the extra stuff.
touching on such subjects knowing his past*
Escobar Caesar 02/03/09
I only kind of feel you on the Ross thing. Hustlin' was a nice banger a couple years ago, Speedin was eh, but all in all the **** has a pretty decent flow. Only thing is, he does best as a mafioso rapper, and hearing him touch on such subjects kind of takes away from the whole thing.

Also, Curtis responded to Ricky's "48 hour for a better response" thing with... a cartoon.
Escobar Caesar 02/03/09
Rick Ross might have been a C.O. in a former life but I am feeling Mafia Music.

Truth be told I always liked Ross, so he might take an L on this one but I can still ride with his music.
CH moved to Harlem when he was a kid. He was born in Cleveland but he really got no ties to it.

As far as 50 and Ricky, both of them sound like they just trying to rehab their careers but Ricky shouldn't have done this. 50 is desperate to be back on top and a desperate 50 is a dangerous 50.
So... Rick Ross and 50 Cent are beefing now. IDK if any of you have heard "Mafia Music", Ricky's new song, but he disses Curtis in it. And I don't really like Rick, but I can mss with this track.

Curtis being Curtis, responded with "Officer Ricky". It sounds like he got his jaw wired shut a la Kanye West about... 5 years ago??? Damn, I'm old... oh, and 50 FINALLY responds to Wayne on the same track. At the end. 2 months later. After we all forgot about it.

Also, Rhymefest is starting something with Charles Hamilton, who apparently is from Cleveland. Huh. Never knew that. Now what does that tell you about this cat's rep in OH? This reggin really wants to be from Uptown.

Sigh... hip hop, what happened?
Escobar Caesar 01/30/09
Yes we can have an exodus of crappy rappers. Who you got in mind BigBen68?
Can we have an exodus of **** rappers at some point?
Big Ben68 01/30/09
Thanks for joining guys. If any of you are interested in blogging I made you all super-members so you can do that.

Also feel free to post stuff on the message board. How you feel about rap and stuff.
Cool Esco. I'm trying to blog when I feel the urge to. I haven't blogged much since this site changed formats but when I feel the urge to do a hip-hop blog, I will.
I'll be dropping by around here more often now, polls, blogs, threads, etc.

Don't want to see this place go to waste.
Escobar Caesar 01/26/09
We are working on it Danbash. Trying to keep this thing going.
Glad to see this place is still active.
Danbash 01/18/09
Agrippa, I will try to blog that on Friday. Tie it in with the opening of Notorious or something.
J write about that..Marley and timelessness and can hip hop produce a Marley. Would love to read it
Agrippa GODSON 01/09/09
Im not ALONE! Ill put a blog out next week J so you and I can only read...lol. Ben good to see you as well.
Agrippa GODSON 01/09/09
Keep trying to blog about hip-hop and I just can't do it. I'm starting to find the whole game boring. Been listening a lot to Bob Marley. That's timeless music. Not so sure hip-hop could ever provide such a worldwide legend. Biggie, maybe? 2Pac, probably? But could they really be relevant 27 years later like Bob has since his passing?

I don't know.
I heard some things and to me they sound like trash. Not sure why they are getting so much love. It must be the Interscope machine at work.
Read a bit about them, but I haven't heard anything by them.
Big Ben68 01/07/09
Does anyone here know anything about The Knux? I been hearing some buzz about them but judging by that song Interscope Records is pushing, they suck to me. Someone please give me some songs by them worth hearing.
The group won't die. I was away on vacation for a couple of weeks.
This group cannot die!
Agrippa GODSON 12/31/08
I am more and more liking these underground backpackers! Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass. // El P - Flyentology ! Check em out.
Agrippa GODSON 12/24/08
Yo, Hova, I'm here every so often. I have been checking in more often the last few weeks.
Big Ben68 12/09/08
The only problem is like the real 50 Cent is that if you bang that hard you don't live that long. A lot of them dudes had to build their names young because they didn't see the other side of 30.

I always respected the street legends too. You have to because some of their stories sound like Hollywood scripts but it's all real. I'm an 80's baby so I'm a little too young to really remember the 80's grime of Brooklyn but when I hear them stories I flash back to the abandoned buildings and all that crazyness that used to be NYC.
As should be the whole nature of hip hop. At it purest its who reps the hardest in the most of clever ways. Hell even Andre gets at rappers claiming to be the best. But Ive always been intrigued with NY and the gangsters there. Like the real 50 cent and the original dope boys. NY is just an interesting place. If you can make it there you are a bad motherfukker
Agrippa GODSON 12/08/08
Well said Agrippa. New York will never have the unity that other cities have in hip-hop. It isn't in our nature. We were born to fight and be distrustful of one another. It's just weird to tell you the truth but that's just NYC for you.
Ill have to check that out. One thing I love is New York beef and all the infighting. Thats hip hop at its best to me. The largest city on the planet and a bunch of poets looking to be crowned King.
Agrippa GODSON 12/05/08
Song of interest: Jaz-O Return of The King. Always liked Jaz-O. His freestyle Ova, where he dissed Jay-Z, is great. Everybody knows about Nas' Ether but no one ever heard Ova. That was like a father spanking a son who really screwed up.
We got at least four votes in the poll. Who else voted? I'm just curious to know who else is here besides me and Agrippa.
Fair points Agrippa. I'm not going to convince you of Big's genius but you should listen to him again. Listen to Ready To Die...
Plus I know Puff made him but he was taking him down a plastic road.
Agrippa GODSON 12/04/08
I hate to say it but Big is overrated in my opinion. He was good but I really didn't get any depth in his music...I may be need to listen again but It wasn't their for me. Better than alot but Ill take Nas and Jay as better rappers
Agrippa GODSON 12/04/08
Forgot about that God Son track. I just remember myself getting involved in that beef. I liked all three but being the typical teenager I had to side with my borough and backed Big. Sometimes I wonder where rap would be if Biggie was still alive.
Yeah he Nas talks about that on "Last Real Ni**a Alive" on God'sSon. One of his best albums. Talks all about his start when him a Rae and Big were all beefing. Awesome track.
Agrippa GODSON 12/02/08
The Clipse got a new mixtape out. It's either called Play Cloths or Road To Till The Casket Drops. It all depends on the website. I downloaded it last night through Complex magazine. It's The Clipse meaning it's good.
Listen to Verbal Intercourse off of Raekwon's Cuban Linx album. Raekwon, Nas, and Ghostface are all taking shots at Biggie. It's subliminal but Nas' dart at him on this song and the Message is the reason why Big comes back with "your reign on the top is short like leprachauns" on Kick In The Door.
Liquid Swords is an amazing piece of music.
Big Ben68 11/30/08
Ghostface Killah just ahead of Raekwon but only because Ghostface practically stole the spotlight on the Cuban Linx album, and that his solo albums Ironman and Supreme Clientele are classics (as far as I am concerned).
What is your opinion of Lil Wayne?

* genius 0%
* overrated drug induced rambler of nonsense 100%
* No opinion 0%
Agrippa GODSON 11/24/08
IPOD UPDATE! Royce Da 5'9" "Everybody Goes" - Death Is Certain
Agrippa GODSON 11/24/08
I was in High School too when Liquid Swords came out so we must be around the same age.
IPOD UPDATE : UGK = Riding Dirty = High Life. I never want to be a G but ***** depend on me!
Agrippa GODSON 11/21/08
Agreed. I live in Texas and knew about that CD. Liquid Swords as a track is one of my favorites! Was on it when it came out too. High school!
Agrippa GODSON 11/21/08
Liquid Swords is a NYC classic. If you love hip-hop here and thats not on your Ipod you get revoked.

I had that CD when it came out, and lost it. I ended up buying it again but one of my cousins begged me for it so I gave it up. Long story short when I got my Ipod a couple of years ago I bought it off of ITunes.
IPOD UPDATE! Saul Williams ; Amethyst Rock Star : Our Father
Agrippa GODSON 11/19/08
IPOD UPDATE! GZA/Liquid Swords - LABELS! JAM!
Agrippa GODSON 11/18/08
He kills it on ATliens. That was his coming out party. His Babylon verse is sick. Yeah that is a cold freestyle. He needs a solo solid album too jump over the current contenders for GOAT. His verse from "Return Of The Gangsta" on Aquemini is my favorite.
Agrippa GODSON 11/18/08
I co-sign on 3000. I have gone back and listened to a lot of Outkast stuff and the guy is a beast.

Plus, I stay impressed off of his freestyle on John Legend's Green Light. That was great.
Im calling it now. 2009 YEAR OF OUTKAST. 2 solos and one group effort. Time for them to solidify they are the best Hip Hop group ever and 3000 the GOAT!
Agrippa GODSON 11/13/08
Nothing wrong with Sade. Not the biggest R&B fan but I have her music ready when I need it.
Ill have to check him out. Ive been on a Sade kick lately. This woman is a genius. Also that recent Saul Williams. "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! "
Agrippa GODSON 11/11/08
Been listening to this cat Skyzoo. He's underground but has a rep now. He's from BK and he's pretty good. He's got an album with 9th Wonder that's pretty good.
Been listening to this today:
My President: Jeezy and Nas
Black President: Nas
The People: Common
A Change Gon Come: Sam Cooke (you got to have some old soul in your music diet)
My deal with Weezy is that he can deliver some slick lines, but then he mumbles some hot garbage. I don't want that kind of rapper.

Also, he does need to leave that Lean alone. It's affecting his rhyme pattern, and his thoughts. You can hear that he's messed up. He is literally slurring words now. If he cleans himself up, and works on his delivery, he might be as good as he thinks he is.
Maynnnn that's old school. I think I used to have that! There is one where he raps over old school RKelly that I think was the beat from "I aint mad at ya." - Classic.

Yeah Lil Wayne is decent but no genius. I could rhyme gremlins and goblins with estrogen and hob hobnobbing and the streets would call me a genius.
Agrippa GODSON 11/03/08
Guessing no where here thinks Weezy is a genius? Good because he aint!!

Anyway, been blasting this screwed freestyle from Slim Thug over Coolbreeze's Watch For The Hook. That beat is ill but sounds just nasty screwed up. Lovin' it.
WHAT UP ESCO.... Yeah Hova Ill try and post a blog this week!
Agrippa GODSON 10/31/08
Got Ya totally. Try and find those track I recommended. Yeah I didn't sip the syrup that much but drunk and aviated it is a beautiful thing
Agrippa GODSON 10/31/08
Closing in on 100 members. Nice!
I really want to get into chopped and screwed, Agrippa. I am starting to really like it. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be sippin' on Lean while I listen but I wouldn't mind being a little inebriated or under that Green if you catch my drift.
Oh **** we got an Esco appearance!! What up youngin'? Don't worry we got the group going and we going to start blogging again too, right guys?
Since I ain't been here in about 2 months, I decided to make a quick cameo, say whatup to my people (shouts to Hova and Agrippa for holding down the place) and before I go recommend 2 tracks:

Last Of A Dying Breed by Ludacris and Lil Wayne (Wayne kind of sounds like he's dying) and Do The Right Thing, Luda and Common.

Theater Of The Mind, November 25th!!!
Escobar Caesar 10/30/08
LOL..nice . Yeah man Ive been listening to screw since it was on the gray tape. Swisha House = DJ Michael Watts is a screw imitation. He still sold in Texas.

I got the old school 3 In the Morning and All Screwed Up. That's classic screw. You listen too them they sound nothing like today's Houston rap. "Pimp Da Pin" "High With The Blanksta" "G Ride""Why You Hate me" "Inside Looking Out". All classics! Those are original screw up click tracks. I have two CD's were its nothing but Pac screwed and chopped up.
Agrippa GODSON 10/29/08
Got to admit I am starting to really get into Chopped and Screwed music. I got my hands on some mixtape featuring tracks from Kanye's Graduation that was chopped and I can't stop listening to it.

It's made by Swishahouse. I just got it from so dude who was selling it out of his trunk. A big Caddy with Texas plates too.
Co-sign hating the vocoder. T-Pain, Lil Wayne, and Kanye are killing me with that thing right now.

I got a lot of respect for Kanye but 808 and Heartbreak is scaring me. I'm going to get it on the strength of Kanye but I think I am going to hate it.
I like B.o.B. too. I like the fact that he is trying to be original. I think he's signed to T.I.'s Grand Hustle label so here's hoping that he stay's original, and not fall into the usual rap traps.

Although I liked The Reading, Asher can sound a little young when he tries to do substance. My beef with him is that he is stuck in this frat boy mode. Frat boy and College doesn't last forever. You got to grow up and expand. I graduated from college 5 years ago, and at 26 I am not the same person at 21. I just wish Asher was smart enough to know the same thing.
Yeah I need to check that out. I saw Ash Roth on there. If he doesn't get nice production he will fizzle out. When he tries to drop substance too me it just sounds like some 6th graders naive essay.

I Co sign B.o.B all day. He is going to be a good artist. I am getting tired of hip hop right now. Every song on the radio is Lil Wane singing with that effed up Vocorder
Agrippa GODSON 10/29/08
I think I am feeling XXL for this Freshmen 10 idea. I like Wale and Charles Hamilton and XXL is making me look into the rest of these cats. If these guys get the opportunities with the labels they could all be stars.
Andre 3000 solo album would be a monster as long as he doesn't go to far over people's heads.

I would look forward to that.
I have Ash's Greenhouse mix tape and its whack apart from like 2 or 3 songs. I dont see why he is getting so much hype.

I cant wait for that Andre 3000 solo. Man he is going to rival Jay if he sticks to hip hop on it..which he said he will
Agrippa GODSON 10/27/08
I am not an Asher Roth fan but I am liking this track called The Reading that is up on XXLMag right now.

I really think it's good.
Got to admit I didn't know that Renegade was originally Royce and Eminem.

Yeah I have seen The Blueprint 3 tracklisting. I am a little skeptical. It sounds nice but Jay has a history of having his albums bootlegged. I'm guessing this might be a list to throw some people off.

Although I have to admit that I have bought the bootlegs and the actual albums. Some of those bootlegs have some tracks that should have made the album.
Also, Hova, have you seen that rumored tracklist for Blueprint 3? Looks sick...but probably won't be...
Big Ben68 10/24/08
Wait, you didn't know Renegade was originally a Royce-Em collaboration, Hova?!
Big Ben68 10/24/08
Looks like its the Agrippa and Hova show these days.
Danbash 10/23/08
Didn't hear that version..Ill have to check that out. Ive been listening to El-P alot lately. The dude is sick. He out of NY. If you haven't heard anything from him I recommend you check him out
Agrippa GODSON 10/22/08
Just discovered that Renegade originally was Royce Da 5'9" and Eminem. It's not a bad version but Jay was better then Royce on it.
I have been diving into the old school lately. Been listening to a lot of NWA. I know they shouldn't be considered old school but it's been about 20 years since when they first hit the scene.
You know which one I did too! So whats new in the world of hip hop. Man its been so slow I haven't even been hitting my hip hop sites. Been TDing alot more
Agrippa GODSON 10/16/08
Great poll. You know which one I picked.
They ended their beef? Damn, I didn't know that.
You know they reconciled earlier this year, Hova. Supposedly they ended the beef...
Big Ben68 10/12/08
Yeah Royce had this sick freestyle on allhiphop.com. Sickest I have heard him. He get some tighter production he will be a beast in the game
Agrippa GODSON 10/10/08
I liked Bad Meets Evil. He and Eminem used to rhyme on tracks together but when Em got big, Royce got mad. He hates that guy now, but Royce is vicious.

I would co-sign on that dude all day.
The only song I can think of that I've heard him on is "Bad Meets Evil" from the Slim Shady LP.
Big Ben68 10/09/08
He has put out a lot of his Bar Exam tracks. He did some good freestyles over the Love Lockdown beat (he calls it Shot Down) and the T.I. Live Your Life beat (which he called Live Your Life Part 2).

Oh yeah he murders Scarface's Forgot About Me. He goes four full verses on people.
Speaking of Royce, I've been looking for some of his better material (like Death is Certain). Can't find much...
Big Ben68 10/07/08
No they're real. I got them at a record store (f.y.e. to be exact).
Big Ben68 10/07/08
Prolly a bootleg Ben. Where did you get them.

Yeah Royce is sick. I have his Death Is Certain. Slept on
Agrippa GODSON 10/07/08
This is weird...

I got these three A Tribe Called Quest CDs recently and I listened through all of them tonight and found that some tracks are edited, some aren't, and one was both (on the same track!).

None of 'em have the parental advisory sticker and I did some research and found that I could not locate a picture of any of the album covers with the "parental advisory" patch on them.

Any of ya'll know why Quest did it like that?

I thought I'd accidentally bought edited stuff...
Big Ben68 10/07/08
Also Charles Hamilton. This kid from Harlem is pretty damn good. He is an acquired taste, but he makes some nice beats and is pretty witty.

He might be NYC's version of Lupe.
Listening to a lot of Royce Da 5'9" lately. He's a monster. Hopefully he gets someone to offer him a major label deal.
People on the XXL mag website bash Lupe but those are the internet gangstas that I hate so much.

Anyway, I want to hear that Z-RO album. I heard some stuff of his a couple years ago and thought he was pretty good.
I just wanted to give my man Zro his props on his newly released album cracked. 1 of his best albums yet.
I'm seeing Lupe at the University of Loyola MD a week from Saturday!!!
Danbash 10/02/08
Lil' Wayne ain't got **** on Jay...

Also, most people from what I've read love Lupe Fiasco. I haven't seen many bash him.

Dude is straight up amazing though and I can't wait for LUPEND.
Big Ben68 10/02/08
Good point Agrippa. I am tired of going to XXL Mag and SOHH and reading all the gay bashing of Lupe Fiasco. Just because the guy is clearly intelligent and not "dumbing it down" he must be a nerd or gay.

Weezy has hot lines but his songs for the most part are garbage but these dudes love it. It's trash but these internet gangstas are all over his nuts for it.

I just think hip-hop needs a more accepting fan base and one rapper with skills that can cross over to all fanbases.

PS: If I read one more Weezy is better then Jigga argument I'm going to bitchslap someone through my computer. That makes me SICK.
It is that then there is the whole loving to be hood factor. Its like you are a nerd or gay in the hood if you like music with substance. So mainstream keeps feeding back into itself in its own vivacious circle. Look at Lil Wayne. Dude is not that intelligent and in the hood he can do no wrong. Hip hop is not heard by the masses unless it lacks substance unless you are the exception which is few far in between
Agrippa GODSON 10/01/08
It's part lack of Hip-Hop education among listeners and the fact that radio wants to play the same 5 songs all day long. Unfortunately out of those 5 songs, 4 of them are true trash.

I blame the radio, I blame Soulja Boy, and honestly I blame New York for not finding an MC with national appeal to keep rap going. Not hip-hop but rap. Lyrics, content, and all the things that people associate with the East Coast and New York has been missing lately and as much as I respect Jigga, we need a successor to him and in a hurry.
That's not necessarily true, Agrippa. Many people DON'T listen to the radio (no matter what genre they like/prefer) because the station plays the same songs all day and a lot of the time they are the not so great to sh*tty stuff. Many stations have lowered the number of songs in rotation by a large amount over the years. Why? I don't know.
Big Ben68 09/29/08
The thing about radio is its more geared towards people who don't care about music unless there in there car, club or 12-13 years old. So they play the club sheat or what the kids are listening too. More picky consumers like us dont have as many outlets like popular city radio stations. We never will. A station that played Common or Roots 5 times a day would be playing Spanish music within a week here in Texas. Radio will be garbage till we start to really educate and breed a generation that doesn't like to superman hoes
Agrippa GODSON 09/29/08
The radio is what killed hip-hop. That's NaS' answer. The radio killed hip-hop.
What's on the radio has been straight garbage for a year or so now (probably more)...

Things just ain't the same...
Big Ben68 09/27/08
Yeah, it's hard to top that. I have been getting more into concious or backpack type rap lately.

Starting to realize that what's on the radio lately is straight garbage. We need to get back to lyrics and substance.
Thats one of my favorite poems EVER
Agrippa GODSON 09/25/08
Listening to Return Of Innocence Lost.

Damn...I have a hard time listening to this without getting kind of emotional.
Good.
Dan's back!
Danbash 09/21/08
I more then agree with you about Black Thought. That's an amazing MC right there.
Man we need to do something to get this group going again! It was popping for a second.
Agrippa GODSON 09/16/08
I have just about everything The Roots have done. BlackThought is the most underrated MC in the game. He is TOP 10 of all time IMO. Rising Down is a sick track. Mos and Styles rip that sheat. I still get chills listening to Things Fall Apart's Return To Innocence Lost.
Agrippa GODSON 09/16/08
Been listening to The Roots a lot lately. Been killing The Seed 2.0, but then again I am a BIG Cody ChesnuTT fan.
Just wanted to make sure you where on your $hit
Already. Im from Texas so you know I know about some Zero and Trae. Glad you joined the group
Agrippa GODSON 09/15/08
Agrippa i was reading your blog and you where stating that you look for that one song to pull you done or lift you up and you named Lil flip song. Well next time you you feel and need that right song pop listen to you some Z-Ro.
Something has to be done about the voting for best group! No way is Clispe a better group than Outkast.
I really hate to bail on y'all, but I'm done with FN, so I'm turing the keys over to... who ever is left.
Escobar Caesar 09/15/08
Actually I have the same problem Agrippa. I blog but to no response so that's why I don't do many for the group but I still love it. Of all the groups I belong too this is still my favorite.
Looks like Danbash has been voting everytime he comes here^^ LOL. Clipse are tight but not that tight.
Agrippa GODSON 09/11/08
I come here everyday! I tried blogging, didn't care for the lack of response. This is still my favorite group
Agrippa GODSON 09/11/08
Is it just me but for a group with 79 people, only Esco, Danbash, BigBen, Agrippa and myself seem to be the only ones here?
Not sure how to feel about Love Lockdown, Danbash. When I first heard it, I was shocked that Kanye would do a whole track singing.

I kind of like it, but I kind of hate it too. Need some more time to really figure that one out.
Jeezy got the song Don't Do It on The Recession. Freeway has the same sample on Free At Last called Baby Don't Do It (featuring Scarface). Free's version is 10 times better.
Outkast easily. No one is even close.

Just got that new GZA=Pro Tools. FIRE! 4 mics IMO
Agrippa GODSON 09/09/08
I really don't plan on going out and buying anything until Theater of The Mind and Paper Trail. I'll peep the tracks on We Global on the Internet first.
Escobar Caesar 09/09/08
My fave tracks off the recession were My President and Crazy World.
Actually bought Jeezy's The Recession. I bought the first 2 Jeezy albums so I decided to buy this one.

I listened to it twice...and it's typical Jeezy. Good beats and some decent wordplay but I'll never call him a "great" rapper.
Tough poll. I was torn between Black Star, The Lox, or The Clipse. I got love for all three but at the end of the day I had to go with Pusha T and Malice.
I am a Jay fan but I do agree with you Esco. Kingdom Come was weak and American Gangster is better but compared to some of Jay's classics it's subpar.

As far as his featurings go, I didn't think he did too bad on Mr. Carter. The Put On remix was pathetic on his part and NaS eats his lunch on Black Republican, and Success the joint on American Gangster.
If they weren't on the list, I would've voted Outkast, but I gotta live up to my rep as the biggest Clipse fan.
I know you guys knew who I voted for.

VA!
Anyone feeling that new Ye song?
Anybody else hear about Ludacris considering becoming a full time actor? I think he might be able to pull it off. He's a really good actor, he could become like Mos Def.
Escobar Caesar 09/08/08
I'm starting to not feel Jay-Z's new stuff. First, I thought he was getting old, but I realized that's not an excuse while Scarface, Rakim, Ice Cube, KRS and Willie D are putting it down even still.

Since the Black Album (which is one of my favorite albums) his flow just sounds weak. Even on his featured tracks, such as Mr. Carter, Put On remix and Black Republican, he doesn't sound like his heart is in it anymore. Kingdom Come was garbage IMO, almost at a Nastradamus level. American Gangster was better, but not by that much.
Escobar Caesar 09/08/08
T.O.S. was actually a pretty solid album I have to say.
Big Ben68 09/07/08
Many Men is my favorite track. That's actually top 20 for me.

Also did like Heat. Sometimes, I like a good violent rap.
Although I do like If I Can't. Thats in my top.... 20ish.
Escobar Caesar 09/04/08
50's been acting civil lately... which is really not 50. Maybe he finally realized after Curtis and T.O.S. bombed everybody hates him.
Escobar Caesar 09/04/08
Yeah they ended it. Kiss talked about it on the radio. Supposedly 50 made nice. I was kind of surprised.
That's still going on? I thought it had fizzled out about a year ago...
Big Ben68 09/03/08
Kiss and 50 ended their beef?
Escobar Caesar 09/03/08
Yeah, that song always makes me laugh. Cassidy's version was... um... yeah.
Escobar Caesar 09/03/08
I'm not a fan of the R.Kelly remix though. Don't think Kelly was that funny.
You aren't the only one but I think that song is funny.
Am I the only one who thinks the dudes who sing Lookin Boy make Soulja Boy look like Talib Kweli?
Escobar Caesar 09/02/08
Wow you guys are a bunch of jerks. Fine I will stop posting, didnt realize having a different opionion makes you the group joke. And that poll? Pretty funny to whoever put it up.. really cool let me tell you!
EFB- K-ROD 53 08/29/08

No, no, have your different opinion, but when it's an opinion as misled as your opinion is it's going to get you ridiculed.
Big Ben68 08/31/08
Just a quick poll before I go to Columbus...
Escobar Caesar 08/29/08
Is it necessary to show the poll results?

Whatever. Eminem: A lot more than Plies.
Escobar Caesar 08/29/08
My bad EFB.
Yeah... The poll was mine...
That rant does not inculde Hova
Wow you guys are a bunch of jerks. Fine I will stop posting, didnt realize having a different opionion makes you the group joke. And that poll? Pretty funny to whoever put it up.. really cool let me tell you!
It's KRS...how can it not be liked?
Big Ben68 08/29/08
You guys like the motto and pic? Great.
Escobar Caesar 08/28/08
A new Damn that Beat is hard blog is coming soon.
Damn Willie D's verse on Quit Hatin' The South is hard...
Esco 08/26/08

Are you talking about the track by UGK? I haven't listened to that track in awhile so I can't remember who's on it.
Big Ben68 08/28/08
I'm likin' the new banner and motto...
Big Ben68 08/28/08
A new picture and banner? Nice touch!
I heard that Esco. I like Joell Ortiz. He's raw. He's a hip-hop fan's kind of rapper. He will never really be commercial to sell any kind of numbers but if you appreciate lyricism and content then he's your kind of guy.
Not liking Swing Ya Rag. It's a good Swizz beat but it's a typical beat from Swizz. Plus, I really don't like T.I. on that anyway. I know he went for something different but it doesn't work with me.
Am I the only one who thinks its BS that Chamillionaire is selling his new mixtape, as opposed to just putting it out lie everyone else does? I mean, I'm not a particularly big fan of his, but with his popularity slowly declining, I think it would have been a better idea to just put it out for free.
"Hip Hop Remix" - Joell Ortiz ft/ Jadakiss and Saigon
Escobar Caesar 08/27/08
The only ones I've really enjoyed were SLU and No Matter What.
Swing Ya Rag is okay. I don't know, from the songs I've listened to, Paper Trail isn't living up to my personal expectations.
Damn Willie D's verse on Quit Hatin' The South is hard...
Escobar Caesar 08/26/08
Swing Ya Rag is my new audio crack.
Escobar Caesar 08/26/08
One of the best verses off all time. I feel like I'm walking a tight rope, without a circus net
I'm popping percocets, I'm a nervous wreck
I deserve respect; but I work a sweat for this worthless check
Bout to burst this tech, at somebody to reverse this debt
Minimum wage got my adrenaline caged
Full of venom and rage
Especially when I'm engaged
And my daughter's down to her last diaper
That's got my **** hyper
I pray that god answers, maybe I'll ask nicer
Watching ballers while they flossing in their pathfinders
These overnight stars becoming autograph signers
We'll all gone blow up and leave the past behind us
Along with the small fry's and average half pinters
While playa haters turn **** like they have ****
Cause we see them dollar signs and let the cash blind us
Money will brainwash you and leave your **** mindless
Snakes slither in the grass spineless

No problem BigBen. It was just an idea.

Anyway, I have to say R.I.P. to Andre Young Jr.

I just can't believe that happened.
Hova, he shouldn't even waste his time. As I said in the "Favorite Rapper" topic on the board I can no longer value anything he says after he claimed Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and a few others were not hip hop.
Big Ben68 08/26/08
I heard about that...

Supposedly Hood Surgeon (Dre's son) was going to be on a song on Detox.
Big Ben68 08/26/08
BREAKING NEWS: Dr. Dre's son was found dead over the weekend. I would have to imagine this pushes back detox.

RIP
I have an idea. Clearly we are going back and forth here with this, but I think for the group it might not be a bad idea if EFB blogs his thoughts about Eminem. It might be interesting to see what FanNation as a whole thinks.

It might be good for the group.
" Try living in a third world country Marshall and stop searching for everyones pity." -EFB

Why would Eminem want to live in a third world country? Hell, how many rappers do you have that come from 3rd world countries? To my knowledge there are ZERO.

And since when was Eminem searching for ANYBODY'S pity. If you ever listened to him, he doesn't care what anybody thinks of him or how they feel towards him/about him.
Big Ben68 08/26/08
True. All rappers tell fibs about their lives. No one is as real as they claim so you can't use that as an argument.
"Marshall spits lies.. simp as that."

You're kidding yourself if you think Plies, or the majority of the rap game, is always telling the truth about their lives.

TI went to a private high school. Is he still a great artist? Hell yes.
You may not like Eminem but he is far superior to Plies. It's almost rap sacrilege to compare the two.
"I just dont understand how you guys like eminem but not Plies." -EFB

How can you seriously even wonder that? Plies is not even close to the level of Eminem. I don't think I even need to go into detail on this.
Big Ben68 08/24/08
EF have you ever truly listened to Eminem's albums? All of them are classics. Plies can't say that.
Big Ben68 08/24/08
I actually liked what Em spit in What's The Difference but I see your point, he really didn't need to be in that song.

I like Eminem so I really can't talk here.
And he always talks about how hard his life was... oh PLEASE. Try living in a third world country Marshall and stop searching for everyones pity.
Marshall spits lies.. simp as that. Plus I dont even think he has an opinion of his own. When Dre came out with the song whats the difference, he basically formally apologized to Eazy... ok thats cool and was a good thing to do but why the fack was Marshall in that song? Like he was actually tight with Eazy? Plus, why is he claiming to be hood? He grew up in the suberbs. All he is is a poser.
Eminem provides legit lyrical content. All Plies wants to talk about is f8cking.
I just dont understand how you guys like eminem but not Plies. Weird but I guess everyone has different tastes. Personally, I CANT listen to eminem he is so annoying.
NOT!
Plies really is garbage. The onnly song I liked was Shawty, but everything else he's put out has sounded exactly like it, except worse.

Speaking of great artists, VIC's album leaked today! I'm SO picking it up!
5 good songs over what, two or three albums? You can listen to him...I'll stick with better artists...
Big Ben68 08/24/08
Glad y'all liked that. It is audio crack like I said.
That hoe is raw.
Escobar Caesar 08/23/08
No one on the corner has swagger like us.... swagger like us.... swagger like us....

THAT SHlT IS DOPE!
http://www.zshare.net/audio/17505780611bcbb1

Hope it's still good when y'all get it.
I got some audio crack for y'all.

Swagger Like Us: Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and T.I.

IT'S CRAZY!!
Nah, I don't feel Plies. I didn't like any of those songs.
Escobar Caesar 08/23/08
hypnotized
bust it baby
shawty
please excuse my hands, I am the club, worth goin fed to

of course hes hit or miss but when he hits he hits HARD
However the popular consensus is that Plies is garbage.
Big Ben68 08/23/08
EFB, if I said everyone's garbage then I wouldn't have any music to listen to...
Big Ben68 08/23/08
http://www.sohh.com/2008/08/soulful-blog--8.html

Man Andre's freestyle on John Legends new song is sick. He has to be the best alive right now.
Agrippa GODSON 08/22/08
I'm listening to the NY's Finest Instrumentals right now.

That got me thinking about hopefully (and I know this will never happen) Pete Rock or DJ Premier, Kid Capri, Green Lantern or somebody does a REAL NY's Finest compilation - like one with Nas, Jigga, Kweli, Mos Def, Fabolous, The Lox, Wu-Tang, Busta, everybody. That's just a pipe dream, but whatever.
Escobar Caesar 08/22/08
Only song I've really felt Jones is that We Roll with Pete Rock and Max B.
Escobar Caesar 08/22/08
big ben you say everyones garbage. Listen to I am the Club and if you can still say hes garbage than wow. That songs great,
Still can't believe Unk is beefing with Joe Budden. Idiot. Budden will never be commercial to sell, but that guy can battle. Unk is going to get killed
I'll pass on the Jim Jones remix. I have a love-hate thing with Jimmy. That's a track I'm sure I would hate him on.
Paper Planes is a real nice track. I heard a remix with Jim Jones (ugh) on it a few days ago.
Unk is doing what? Damn. Anyway, I know this is the Hip-Hop Fan Group but I wanted to put y'all on to a song by M.I.A.

I'm not a big fan of hers but I like the track Paper Planes. Give it a listen.
What's he gonna do? Dance at him?
Unk is trying to beef with Joe Budden.

*pause*
Escobar Caesar 08/21/08
Birds and the Bees kinda reminds me of Girls, Girls, Girls.
No date yet. They are in the studio now. Flesh just got out after 8 in the Pinta. Bizzy is returning because all originals members a coming back. Album should be fire. Krazy Bone is one of the most underatted producers
Agrippa GODSON 08/21/08
Not really feeling Plies. He has his moments on the DJ Khaled stuff but I will never buy that guy's album.
My faith in Jigga hit a new low when he went on the radio and told the world that his mom made him apologize. I'd have smacked him if I was in the studio for that.

Anyway, just heard The Birds and The Bees by Lupe Fiasco. Nice track and a good beat by Kanye.
Mmm, the return of Dre or Eminem coming back

tough choice

G-Unit is on the way down, T.O.S was terrible, 50's gotta put something good up, maybe Dre and EM can salvage something
jeevs BS 08/21/08
When's that album coming out, Agrippa?
Big Ben68 08/20/08
Plies is, straight up, garbage.
Big Ben68 08/20/08
I only like Krayzie. Layzie sounds... gay to me. Wish is ok.
Escobar Caesar 08/20/08
Is anyone as excited as me about the new Bone Album with all the original members?? Even Flesh is going to be on there.
Agrippa GODSON 08/20/08
And then, this ****'s mom made him apologize?
Escobar Caesar 08/20/08
I laughed. I was 13, with my cousin, and he played Ether, then Supa Ugly right after.
Escobar Caesar 08/20/08
You laughed? I remember that like yesterday. Funk Flex and Angie Martinez played that whole battle out on Hot 97. It felt like all of New York was calling in that day to say who won. Out of every 10 callers, 9 said NaS. Shoot I was saying NaS and I ride with Jay. NaS killed him. Supa Ugly couldn't have been more embarrasing.

Shoot NaS is still killing him. He got the better of him on Black Republican and Success.
I seriously laughed when I heard Supa Ugly the first time. That plus Ether won the beef for Nasir.
Escobar Caesar 08/20/08
Young Jeezy Feat. Nas- My President

I am officially co-signing with Jeezy. It may have taken 3 years, but I am now down with Jeezy.
Plies has a good flow, but that's about it. Not a big fan of him overall.
Whens Plies gonna get some love? I think with I am the club hes makin a high rep for himself. He has a lotta good songs out now.
Supa Ugly was just sad. No one could have came back from Ether but I at least expected Jay to do a lot better than Supa Ugly. That's why I think in a battle, Game could beat him because Game really does go hard. 120 Bars and 240 Bars were pretty good battle tracks on his part.
Like Supa Ugly's terrible self for example...
Escobar Caesar 08/19/08
The Game can go hard. Jigga isn't really a battle rapper though so I can see Game really getting him in. Jay says slick lines but he has problems on a whole track.

The Takeover was nice but in the long line of battle raps it was pretty subpar in my opinion.
Ahhhhhh helllllll = The Game: ???I Will Tear Jay-Z Limb By Limb By Bloody Limb.???

What do you all think

http://allhiphop.com/stories/multimedia__podcasts/archive/2008/08/14/20409124.aspx
Agrippa GODSON 08/14/08
Khaled is annoying but I liked Out Here Grindin'. Glad to see Lil Boosie get on that.
I just DL'ed Ice Cube's Raw Footage album today, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly surprised. He really brought it on a lot of tracks. I think I might actually have to buy it.
DJ Khaled is an idiot with all that "we the best" nonsense.
Agrippa GODSON 08/13/08
Heads Up: I'll make another Beat is Hard blog before the weekend.
Dre and Cognac? Hmm...I like my yak. I might need to sip on that.
Personally, I don't think King Mathers is gonna drop this year, but Detox is just about set in stone.

Ironically enough, on the same day he drops detox, Dre is releasing his own brand of Cognac.
I've got my doubts about King Mathers, but I think Detox will materialize. Or maybe I'm just delusional.

Khaled is... annoying, to say the least. I admit I like those songs with a lot of rappers each coming on and dropping a verse, but he could diversify a little bit. Wayne, Ross, Fat Joe, Birdman and Jeezy get old quick. Mix it up with something new. That's why I'm So Hood Remix was so hot IMO, because of Luda, Busta and Big Boi.
Escobar Caesar 08/12/08
TI for sure but that Luda album is probably number 2. I don't think Detox or King Mathers will ever happen.
Shawty Lo should know that TI will slaughter him. The hell is he thinking about going after TI.
All he does is pick fights with TIP, and have zero lyrical prowess.
Other then Dey Know I don't give a damn about Shawty Lo. I'm not feeling him at all.
Sir Lucius Left-Foot- Big Boi = I would say eminem but Encore was kinda whack to me. He needs to stop singing all the f***** time.
Agrippa GODSON 08/11/08
I dont like him either Esco
Am I the only one who doesn't give a retarded mosquito's left nut about Shawty Lo?
Escobar Caesar 08/11/08
I don't usually **** with 50, but I like that "Too Hot" with Nas and Nature.
Escobar Caesar 08/11/08
I really want King Mathers if it really comes out this year.
I loved No Matter What, Goat, but the other songs I've heard have been okay at best.

The King Mathers album is really just a lot rumors, but last time I checked, it's slated to drop this year.
Paper Trail is what I'm most looking forward to followed VERY closely by Detox. I'm also interested in King Mathers if anything becomes of it.
LAX was a close second. Every track I've heard so far has been great, especially My Life.
I voted Detox, but everyone needs to watch out for the new Clipse album. It's going to be the best produced album of the year, with Kanye, The Neptunes, Diddy, and a bunch of other people on it, and maybe with that credibility, and Pusha and Malice's talent, that album could sell.
Dre, Luda or Game....

Game is my boy, and Ludacris is one of my favorite rappers, but we've been waiting for Dre since what, '01?

Gotta go with the Doc.

Yes. It's supposed to come out early 2009.
Blueprint 3???
Escobar Caesar 08/07/08
http://www.prefixmag.com/media/jay-z/jockin-jay-z-blueprint-3-preview-video/20513/

*Jaw Drops*
The preview was nice. I really liked politics as usual and DTP magic.
Yeah they also gave Carter 3 like a 9 which should have been more like a 6.5.
Agrippa GODSON 08/06/08
This is bull... Allhiphop.com gave Ludacris' mixtape a 6.5 out of 10. It was at least an 8. But then, these are the same people who gave Untitled a 7.
Escobar Caesar 08/06/08
That's exactly what I thought Esco. He just brought up a lot of old stuff in that verse that had no point in being said. It was weak of him. That's why I don't like Jigga's freestyle on Put On.
Isn't Prodigy locked up anyways? That's like 50 going at Shyne in Piggy Bank. Besides, Jigga got his point across in Takeover.
Escobar Caesar 08/05/08
I actually hated that Jay-Z verse. A lot of that stuff is common knowledge here in NYC, so it's like why bring all that up? Plus, he kind of overexaggerates a little there.
Young Jeezy ft. Jay-Z: Put On remix

Jay's verse absolutely destroys Kanye's old one, or for that matter, Jeezy's.
IPOD classic today "Remember Me" Eminem - MM LP
Agrippa GODSON 08/01/08
"Vocabulary spills I'm +Ill+
plus +Matic+, I freak beats slam it like Iron Shiek"
Agrippa GODSON 08/01/08
Just noticed that said "Bi Boi" I meant Big Boi LOL
Agrippa GODSON 08/01/08
I'm actually listening to "It Ain't Hard To Tell" right now.
Big Ben68 08/01/08
Gettin' money till my last day...thanks Esco. Flashback!!
http://allhiphop.com/stories/rumors/archive/2008/07/31/20353397.aspx

have to check out this Bi Boi video. He hit it hard man.
Agrippa GODSON 07/31/08
And some Uncle Luke, too. "Scarred" Just came on. Only song by him I got...
Escobar Caesar 07/31/08
Biggie and The Lox "Last Day"
Escobar Caesar 07/31/08
IPOD Classic for today. Shook Ones. - Mobb Deep = "Rock you in you're face ,stab your brain with your nose bone"
Agrippa GODSON 07/31/08
Illmatic > Stillmatic, IMO.
Stillmatic has a bunch of a great tracks, but as a whole, I gotta go with Illmatic. The World is Yours is one of the greatest songs ever, IMO.
They are both nice. But "It Ain't Hard to Tell" is one of the sickest songs I have ever heard
Agrippa GODSON 07/30/08
Just me, but I preferred Stillmatic to Illmatic.
Escobar Caesar 07/30/08
I had to go Aquemini - 5 Mic's .Every song is fire to me. It was hard though picking that over PAC and UGK.
Agrippa GODSON 07/30/08
Great poll. I have to go with Ready To Die. I just have to.
Looks as though Nas took the "BEST RAPPER ALIVE!" Poll
Agrippa GODSON 07/30/08
Asher Roth and Wayne's Dedication 2. Nothing too interesting.
Escobar Caesar 07/29/08
IPOD classic for today = Bizzy Bone = On The Freeway = Heavens Movie
Agrippa GODSON 07/29/08
Downloaded it and Nas' um... Reggin Tape. PIFFFF
Escobar Caesar 07/28/08
The mixtape is called The Preview.
What's it called?
Big Ben68 07/28/08
Luda's new mixtape drops today!!! Pick it up!
I think we're startin' to pick back up again. We've had 5 blogs in 6 days.
Big Ben68 07/28/08
Yeah, Eminem definitely deserved to be in the poll moreso than Lil Wayne.

But what pisses me off even more has to be that Facebook group, Lil Wayne for President, that has thousands and thousands of people in it.
Nasir, no doubt.
Escobar Caesar 07/25/08
The only Lil Wayne song that I seriously bump is I Feel Like Dying and that's because the beat is ill. Listening to a chopped and screwed version of it right now.
I agree. Only reason I put him in there is due to alot of reviews and even other creditable artist are making that outrageous claim. Hell even alot of the streets say that. I would put Em , Bun , Big Boi, Kurupt, Black Thought , Common all over him.
Agrippa GODSON 07/25/08
I'm not going to openly campaign but...
Lil Wayne does not deserve to be in this poll. Greatest rapper alive? NO.
http://www.defsounds.com/singles/Joe_budden_who_full

ALL of you gotta listen to this song.
Big Ben68 07/24/08
Good lookin' out Agrippa. That site'll come in handy for me.

And on the poll, I'm not really sure who I should vote for so I'mma abstain.
Big Ben68 07/24/08
IPOD on classic for the day = Kurupt "On, Onsite" Smoke Boogie: Space Oddessey- "The hell-hound came through and drown the whale
Pronounce, denounce, stripped in set sail.Soak in a could of smoke then inhale. Hold it in neva exhale"
Agrippa GODSON 07/24/08
just put him in there because he is mentioned by a lot of people as the best. I dont think so. I dont even think he is top 10. He's nice but not that nice.
Agrippa GODSON 07/24/08
Lil Wayne as a choice for the best rapper alive? Give me a break. His funky voice and good beats cover up his average lyrics.

Even I could say "a millie" a hundred times.
You know who I voted for.

I messed with datpiff before. Listening to 2Pac right now. The original version of My Block. Great beat, better words. 2PAC: He might be Cali Love but I like that he mentions his NYC roots first in this song. His Bronx and Harlem roots.
I've used datpiff for afew mixtapes.
What up yall. Just wanted to share datpiff.com:: "The Authority in Free Mixtapes" If you didn't already know its got all kind of free mixtape downloads from the top DJ's in the world.
Agrippa GODSON 07/24/08
Mike Tyson? The boxer?
The new lil wayne.....American Dream (ft. Mike Tyson)
dcboi32 07/24/08
Nas, Ray Cash, little bit of Khaled today.
Escobar Caesar 07/23/08
IPOD shuffle classic today. "If Heaven Was A Mile Away" Nas - God's Son
Agrippa GODSON 07/23/08
Rediscovered American Gangster. Fallin' has to be the best track on that album.
Agree with Agrippa. I can recite All That I Got Is You forward, backward, fast, slow. That song is a true anthem.
IPOD on shuffle and up came "All that I got is you " Ghostface Killa. One one of the best hip hop songs ever.
Agrippa GODSON 07/22/08
Listening to some old Jadakiss right now. Go back and listen to All For The Love on The Lox Money Power Respect album. Damn, if Jada really got better promotion...
I know he totally destroyed A Millie!
Holy ****! He destroyed a milli!
Asher RIPPED A Millie!

And I should raid my brother's music collection. I've been on Wu-Tang all day.
Escobar Caesar 07/16/08
same here those guys were good.
I have gone back in the day and started listening to my Onyx tapes. I miss those dudes.
Listening to this kid Asher. He's OK. I guess I could co-sign him.
The new album is conceptual. He said it's like a movie. I can't wait.
And Ludacris and DJ Drama have a mixtape dropping soon. Can't wait to cop that.
Escobar Caesar 07/15/08
He's this white dude who sounds a lot like Eminem in voice, but IMO the comparisons end there.
Escobar Caesar 07/15/08
Have never heard of Asher Roth. I'll check it out.
I liked Cannon and Roth Boys too.
I saw him on Rap City, and kind of liked it. So I downloaded his mixtape, and it's pretty good. He ripped Mr. Me Too.
Escobar Caesar 07/13/08
But in a good way. One of my favorite new rappers.
And Asher Roth is really weird.
I've heard throw it up Esco.

I throw it up like ya girls dress on prom night!!!
Who the hell took my blogging rights. Stupid cliques...
Anybody here know anything about Asher Roth?
Escobar Caesar 07/10/08
Busta Rhymes ft/ Ludacris and Lil Wayne "Throw It Up" PIFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Escobar Caesar 07/08/08
No Matter What is definitely the song of the Summer.

T.I. is REAL!
No Matter what has been in heavy rotation on my ipod. It's the song of the summer, IMO.
u alll gotta hear this nice song by Lloyd Banks +50 Cent called Hands UP. I no its kinda old but its still awesome
I think that song is hot G.O.A.T.
Hey, what do you guys think about T.I.'s new song, No Matter What? It's autobiographical and really good, in my opinion.
Definitely listen to The Message. He's taking subliminal shots at Biggie.

That's not speculation by the way. He has confirmed that in several article interviews.
I've listened to most of the songs Esco just mentioned, and every single one I've heard was great.
check out my new blog about tha carter III
Well, there's where I step in.

Got Urself a Gun
Ether
Smokin'
2nd Childhood
One Mic

fugg it, all of Stillmatic

The Message
Warrior Song
Nas Is Like
NY State of Mind
Just A Moment

Look for God's Stepson. It's the album God's Son remixed by 9th Wonder.
Escobar Caesar 06/13/08
but can someone help me out. What are some of Nas' songs I should download. I only have heard one and its one of my favorite songs (hip hop is dead)
Oh and Lil Wayne is NOT deserving of a top 3 in anybody's rankings...

...his albums are usually not that great...

I haven't had a chance to listen to every song on Tha Carter III, but I'll get around to it and then I'll let you know about that one.

Eazy-E was great, but he is not the greatest of all time when it comes to hip hop/rap artists. Personally, I HAVE to give that to Tupac...

Lupe Fiasco is a fantastic lyricist who gives his songs more than just snappy beats. He is making an effort to bring hip hop back to its more lyrical roots instead of the snap music lovefest that goes on today.

Never in my life have I forgotten Dr. Dre (who you give credit to then turn around and insult him). Once I found his music I've loved it since...

He is one of my favorite producers...
Big Ben68 06/11/08
Snoop Dogg actually says he is from Long Beach.

Dr. Dre is most DEFINITELY from Compton, however Eminem has never claimed he is from Compton. He is, in fact, from Detroit, Michigan.
Big Ben68 06/11/08
almost forgot, Eminem is a joke and shouldnt be taken seriously at all. Im so sick of him being the most overrated person in life. Plus hes a punk **** poser. Your not for Compton your a wanna be thug who could get his **** beat by a 13 year old. ur not hard either. stop talking about guns we all kno u dno how to use one.

Anyone notice that dre along with all of his apprentices are posers? Snoop, dre, and eminem all say they are from compton and snoop is from beverly hills!

Sorry had a lot to get out, havent been here in a while.
Oh and NWA is undisputably the greatest group of all time. That shouldnt even be an argument.
I think its very disrespectful that nowadays people are putting people like Lupe Fiasco in their top 5 rappers of all time list. All that is is IGNORANCE. It is all opinions, but if you honestly think Lupe is top 5 you should be forced to leave. He doesnt crack my top 300... yet. What ever happened to Eazy? Or Dre? People forgetting them just isnt acceptable.
1. Eazy-E (undisputed)
2. Lil Wayne (like i said its opinion but Wayne has done MORE than enough to warrant this spot)
3-5 are up in the air for me but the first 2 are in stone.
Not sure if they should win but one of my family friends was Gangstarr's road manager. I actually met Premier and Guru at a Red Lobster out in Valley Stream back in 1991 (Ironically enough it was my 10th birthday).
I had to go with the Microphone Fiend.
I love The Seed. One of my favorite songs.
Escobar Caesar 06/01/08
Also listen to The Seed 2.0. I am a major fan of Cody ChesnuTT so the fact that he allowed the Roots to remake his song is just big to me.
Bumpin' that Star from The Roots right now. Man, I wish Black Thought blew up major right now.
You were an admin you fool.
Escobar Caesar 05/31/08
I can't figure out why I left this group about two months ago. It's a great group.
come on i am the birdman
I vote for The Roots. Black Thought is a beast. I know Rakim is the prototype for most MC's but I really got to admit that I prefer the Roots.
I did not get wasted.
Hey people......Have a bomb **** Memorial Day......N Hova, dont get wasted man......LOL
I'm definitely buying that...
Big Ben68 05/22/08
Where's Chengy at? We need a new poll, dammit!
Escobar Caesar 05/21/08
That album should be good. I hope it is anyway.
I heard about that... I'm definitely going to have to invest.
Escobar Caesar 05/20/08
Kanye, Lupe, and Pharrell joined together to create the group Child Rebel Soldiers. They have only done two songs together, Us Placers (off a Kanye mixtape) and Everybody Nose the Remix (on the recent N.E.R.D. album). Later on this year the three of them are releasing an album together. Judging by those two tracks and their collective genius, that album is going to be crazy. The name of the group is Child Rebel Soldiers. Look it up.
Anyway, what's this album you're talkin' about with Kanye, Lupe, and Pharrell?
Big Ben68 05/19/08
Wu-Tang Clan ain't nuthin' ta f8ck wit!!!
Big Ben68 05/19/08
The Wu done brought the ruckus. Next poll!
Good track, Esco.
What am I listening to you ask? "Tick Tock" by The Alchemist featuring Nas and Prodigy.
Escobar Caesar 05/16/08
Well Pharell really can't rap but still with those two...YES!!!
Listening to Us Placers and Everybody Nose Remix. I cannot wait for the Child Rebel Soldiers album. Damn, Lupe, Kanye, and Pharell together is just unfair.
I was pretty drunk. I still think I Love Ur Girl is a hot track.
Wu-Tang, we came to bring the pain.
Escobar Caesar 05/12/08
Well I am assuming that since he was at a club that his judgment was impaired. You gotta give J. Hova a break.
Chengy: bye FN 05/11/08
I don't think he can sing, but that's just me.
Escobar Caesar 05/11/08
I know he's not a rapper but I urge y'all to listen to The Dream. I went out last night to a club (hell I got in this morning like around 6...so I'm tired as HELL right now) and his music played all night. I am buying that album.
I feel you Danbash. I tried to get tickets to shows around NY. I was willing to go up to Boston or down to Philly or DC and I couldn't get nothing.
Good stuff DJ. Which Nas album did you buy? It depends because not all his albums are good ones. Some of them kind of sucked.
I've been trying to get tickets to the glow in the dark tour in DC, with Kanye, Lupe, and Rihanna, but they're damn near impossible to find.
I'm going to the Lil Wayne concert tomorrow. Chea!
Escobar Caesar 05/09/08
I voted for the Fugees. The Score is one of my favorite albums.
I know I voted for them.
Escobar Caesar 05/06/08
How are the Fugees winning this?
Chengy: bye FN 05/05/08
I went on a hip hop binge yesterday...both Lupe albums then some Nas and Kanye. Made me feel pretty good.
DJTG_2010 05/05/08
Lets just give this thing to EPMD already.
44% for the EPMD....WOW

personally i like them better but, didn't realize other people did aswell
Super Analytical 04/25/08
Posted an artist spotlight. I put links in it too.
I probably will be the only one who will vote for EPMD. I am not against P.E., I just like EPMD better.
I will put up a new poll tomorrow
Chengy: bye FN 04/20/08
Who italicized?
Escobar Caesar 04/19/08
I like Whodini but against RUN DMC I just can't do it. It has to be RUN DMC.
Yeah I got it
Chengy: bye FN 04/17/08
We need to get a new poll up. The Tribe has clearly won this one.

Can I Kick It?
I just posted a first in a four part series of blogs. Part 2 should be up by 4 O'clock today.

Parts 3 and 4 should be up tomorrow.
Make that 5. I read all the blogs and vote on all the polls.
Dyhard 04/14/08
Make that 4!
Another thing... it always seems to be just us three around.
Escobar Caesar 04/12/08
Yeah, it was...well, interesting to say the least.
Big Ben68 04/12/08
Didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know BigBen.
But I know what you mean, Esco...

We need to just put our heads together and come up with something...
Big Ben68 04/10/08
Hova, Malibu's Unwanted was a fan group on FN where everyone would just freestyle in the Locker Talk.
Big Ben68 04/10/08
We are losing members. We are down to 59 now.
Malibu's Most Wanted and I liked that movie. I loved when he said the "N" Word and got tossed out the club.
I write rhymes but I'm not a rapper. It's something I do for my own personal enjoyment so I am against the freestyle idea.

I just think we should blog about the hip-hop we love. Members will come if our writing is right.
That will most likely suck... remember that Malibu's Unwanted or whatever it was called?
Escobar Caesar 04/10/08
We could do a freestyle battle...like have a tourney or something.
Big Ben68 04/09/08
Me, you and Hova need to think hard about this one.
Escobar Caesar 04/09/08
We've got to create something to get the interest up...
Big Ben68 04/09/08
The group's creator has abandoned us anyway (efbasketball)...
Big Ben68 04/09/08
Wait.. we're LOSING members. We had 64 at one point. What happened?
Escobar Caesar 04/09/08
Big Ben is right. I haven't blogged for this group since March 9 (RIP TO THE NOTORIOUS ONE!!) and I am wrong for that. I will blog for this group again. He needs all of us to keep this thing going.
Well after I get back to Ohio and we get this whole moving situation in place, I'll be able to get more active than I am. But now, I'm REALLY busy.
Escobar Caesar 04/09/08
Hey, I'd love it if we had more diversity with our postings, but no one else is doing anything besides me. I can't count on anybody else actually contributing anymore...so I just post the video blogs so people know the group is still alive...

which it still doesn't seem is evident.
Big Ben68 04/09/08
Esco said it best. Let's bring it back to where we started.
I think at this point we've gone completely away from what we started doing with this group. Now, all we do is the video blogs. When we started we had the hip hop spotlights (Talib Kweli, Jay-Z and Ray Cash were featured I think), a couple Ultimate Playlists, tributes to Biggie and Pimp C, etc. I do like the Videos, I just think that that shouldn't be the focal point of the group.
Escobar Caesar 04/08/08
If that message wasn't clear my vote is to end the video blogs. Just not my thing, sorry guys.
I say yeah. I like the video blogs but they aren't my style. We need to go back to content and education. Back to the words...for lyrics and the word is hip-hop.
Every single one of our blogs should have at least 60 views...
Big Ben68 04/04/08
I deleted it. I'm making a new one.... sometime.
Escobar Caesar 04/04/08
I agree with BigBen about the views. We are too large a group to have such few views.
What happened to the poll?
http://goallineblitz.com/game/signup.pl?ref=3554578.
This game is the $hit. You create and manage your own ootball player.
yung $co 04/02/08
Scarface. He gets hated on up here.
Dre 80%
Pete Rock 10%
9th Wonder 10%

Pete Rock is by far my favorite beat man of all time. Dre's prot??g??'s are amazing.
Escobar Caesar 03/30/08
Well this ain't even close...
Escobar Caesar 03/29/08
Dr. Dre, motha f*cka...

He gave us an innumerable number of blazing hits...
Big Ben68 03/28/08
9th Wonder gets the vote but it kind of hurts to go against Dre.
I can agree with Esco and give Talib and Common their lyrical props, but the rapper that deserved to win, did.
Type in dilemma producer on google, and click on the guys myspace. This guy is one of the best up and coming producers in the game.
justrun7 03/27/08
Results:

Jay-Z 30%
Talib Kweli 10%
Ludacris 10%
Lil Wayne 10%
Eminem 10%
Lupe Fiasco 10%
Escobar Caesar 03/27/08
I got a lot of respect for Jigga, but there is no way he puts up better lyrics than lilweezy!
Dylan623 03/25/08
Meh, it's alright.

Dan, Lupe is raw, but Talib's been at it since '96, still to today hitting with those lyrics that even rappers respect. I may be tripping, but didn't Jay-Z say something to the effect of "Lyrically, I'd be Talib Kweli"?
Escobar Caesar 03/24/08
I don't know how anyone who has listened to The Cool can NOT pick Lupe for best lyricist.
not* I can't type today.
Escobar Caesar 03/24/08
No disrespect for Jigga, but there's no way he's a better lyricist than Talib or Common. He's nice, no doubt, but that nice.
Escobar Caesar 03/24/08
Hell yeah I hate Soulja Boy. I'm too damn old to be cranking anything. He's OK if you are under 18, but if there are any 18 and ups here who likes his music, they should be shot. No kidding...shot!
hate*
Escobar Caesar 03/24/08
Everyone should Soulja Boy.
Escobar Caesar 03/24/08
This is tough. I went with the BKMC.
Escobar Caesar 03/24/08
Whoever votes for Soulja Boy is getting kicked out the group. I have the power to make it happen...
Had to vote for Jigga in this one. He has delivered some lyrical gems.
Soulja Boy = I made an accidental extra spot.
Escobar Caesar 03/24/08
Just to let you know I did not vote for Jay-Z in the poll. Someone did because he has 14 percent. I just want to know why, because as much as I love Jigga, Eminem served him.
Danbash: The beats are OK. His rhyming skills are getting worse. I bootleg his albums for the beats not his content.
I never said Royce's was the best, I just said people are ranking it up there with Ether.
justrun7 03/22/08
Am I the only one who thinks Rick Ross's tracks are getting progressively worse?
Ether=Best Diss Track ever. PERIOD.
Eh, it's alright. Nowhere near Ether, but it's good.
Escobar Caesar 03/19/08
Who else heard the diss from about a month or two ago from Royce da 5'9" against Mistah F.A.B. Some people are calling this the best diss track since Nas' Ether.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izUa_m9IrDY
justrun7 03/19/08
NYFAN: We don't do Soulja Boy in here. I'm not knocking you, I'm just letting you know.
That poll is joke. Eminem destroyed Jigga. I love Jigga but it's no contest. Em ate him alive on his own track.
That poll is the whip!! It is pretty unanimous so far.
B-Redli 03/18/08
Nas said it best...

And, Eminem murdered you on your own ****
Em **** bodied Jigga on Renegade.
Escobar Caesar 03/18/08
If you like Soulja Boy, then please...click that "Leave Group" button in the top right corner...
Big Ben68 03/18/08
Disagree. I listen to NOTHING Soulja Boy and I hate everything he does.
Escobar Caesar 03/17/08
best 2 songs as of 3/15 to me are YAHHH and Sexy Can I,do u agree or disagree?
Ny 03/15/08
Lil Wayne is AMAZING on OTHER artists songs, but not so good on his own...he has a few good songs per album, but then he blows on most of the others.
Big Ben68 03/08/08
Wayne did a thing with Robin Thicke that I liked called Shooter. I snagged it on Limewire. I likes it.
I am 50/50 on Weezy. Sometimes he's sick but sometimes he is weak. It's weird with him.
There are actually quite a few Weezy fans in the group, myself included.
Escobar Caesar 03/03/08
does everyone in this group hate lil' wayne?

cuz he sucks.
Johan The Killer 03/02/08
Guys could you check out my blog called "Music With A Message"

http://justrun7.blogspot.com/
justrun7 02/27/08
I think I will Big Ben. I still want to do an actual tribute too. I can do both.
Forgot Outkast too
justrun7 02/26/08
def ugk legends in this south
mattdogg27545 02/26/08
You gotta break it up somehow...too many good groups...
Big Ben68 02/25/08
Wow... I did a really bad job in that poll. Forgot De La Soul, the Hot Boys, A Tribe Called Quest...Damn.
Escobar Caesar 02/25/08
If you want make a video blog with five of his videos, Hova.
Big Ben68 02/24/08
My bad, The Grind is pretty hot too.

I like them. I'm falling back because I have to do something really big for the Notorious One. Yes, a Biggie Tribute is coming.
Don't forget "The Grind" series of video blogs, Hova.
Big Ben68 02/22/08
Please listen to Curtis Mayfield, y'all. It's because of Curtis and his soulful, political messages, that we can have a thing called Hip-Hop in our lives.

I urge you to get down with the great Curtis Mayfield.
Got to say that these Playin' The Game Blogs are really getting people's attention.

I'm falling back off the blogging for this group but I want to do one around March 9th. I got another tribute to do.
I haven't watched Making The Band since Season 3.
Escobar Caesar 02/22/08
I hate the name Day 26. That to me is worse then Danity Kane. What is going on with these terrible group names?
I watch Making The Band. It would have been my choice but Flav deserves top billing.

I think the Guys are going to be OK, Donnie is going to flop, and Danity Kane will once again get another platinum plaque because of the show.
Flavor Flav!!
I also have the Beastie Boys anthology.
LoS-I Am Torgo 02/19/08
My friend has a Public Enemy tape. I think it's their first release. He bought it at a thrift store really cheap. Anyways, last summer, we drove down the downtown of our city with the windows down cranking that tape. He also has Vanilla Ice's first tape, his big one. And four of us are white. It was hilarious.

Which brings me to my point, that "You're Gonna Get Yours" by Public Enemy is a great song.
LoS-I Am Torgo 02/19/08
Who wouldn't choose Flav? That dude is funny as hell.
Dylan623 02/18/08
Where's the "None" choice in the poll?
Big Ben68 02/18/08
Flavor Flav!!!
The best show is Snoop Dog's show on E!
RHATER is Gone. 02/18/08
No...none of them are any good...
Big Ben68 02/17/08
Don't feel bad about VH1 reality Jasmine. Those shows are good.

FLAVOR FLAV!!!!!!!!!!
I stopped watching BET, MTV, and VH1 like three or four years ago...I got fed up with no music and lots of dumb shows...
Big Ben68 02/16/08
106 and Park is still on? I thought they got rid of that show. I'm never home before 8 O'clock now and since I never heard anything about it I assumed it was cancelled.
106th and Park sucks now...all the video channels suck because they don't even play music...just f*cking reality shows...
Big Ben68 02/13/08
Some people from my school are going to be on 106th and Park today.
Escobar Caesar 02/13/08
Can't believe I let the anniversary of Pun's death go by. It was 4 days ago. Damn!
Once again it's going to be Pac in a run away. I already voted for him.
It's Pac in a run away. That was expected. If this was the best west coast rapper or group besides Pac, I would have voted for NWA.
Listening to Bob Marley right now. Been listening to a lot of him lately.
ay have we covered all the regions yet
mattdogg27545 02/08/08
We all know 2Pac is going to win this.
Tupac Shakur.
If Pac loses, I might disband the group.
Escobar Caesar 02/06/08
NWA, Tupac, E-40, Snoop Dogg, The Game, and Too $hort...

I don't know who to vote for!!!!

I might just have to go with Pac...but...damn...
Big Ben68 02/06/08
Big L was on the ballot, didn't get any votes. No one nominated Kool G, so he didn't get on. I only put on people who were nominated.
Escobar Caesar 02/05/08
yea i been listenin to ray cash since he came out but why is bone thug not have any votes cant believe that one and why wasnt big L or kool g rap on the east one
mattdogg27545 02/05/08
Eminem gets my vote. Kanye is second though with Lupe third. Haha, that's just how the poll is.
I guess Esco and I were wrong about being the only Ray Cash heads here. I voted for Eminem but if Ray was on the poll he would have gotten my vote.
Eminem is pwning the poll....
Escobar Caesar 02/05/08
Don't assume something like that Esco...
Big Ben68 02/04/08
Ray Cash...nice...
84 02/04/08
...I thought only me and Hova listened to Ray Cash...
Escobar Caesar 02/04/08
Hova...I own BOTH of Buck's albums...
Big Ben68 02/04/08
Hey...where's Ray Cash in the poll?
Big Ben68 02/04/08
Other than maybe Weezy, no one is a better lyricist right now than Lupe Fiasco. He's talkin about real stuff, not dances and siht.
BUCK THE WORLD!!
Damn, Young Buck probably only got my vote. Telling you when he leaves G-Unit and gets on a label that promotes him right he is going to smash the game.
justrun, good catch with TD and Clipse...
Big Ben68 02/03/08
I luv Lil Wayne, but I forgot about Luda.
This track is crazy. I gotta vote for Luda now. Sorry Uncle Face, but it had to be done.
Escobar Caesar 02/03/08
"Tell It Like It Is" - Ludacris

FIRE!!!!!!
Escobar Caesar 02/03/08
Face, Luda, TIP, Jon, Buck, and Three Six are all tied up. Somebody vote, dammit!
Escobar Caesar 02/02/08
Nobody nominated them. I only put up people who were nominated.
Escobar Caesar 02/02/08
Outkast, The Clipse & Trick Daddy definitly needs to be on this South list
justrun7 02/02/08
The lyrics are weak but the beat is tight. I'm talking about Dey Know from Shawty Lo. If you want to hear some real rapping over the beat get either the Dey Know remix with Luda, Weezy or the New York remix with Maino and Lil Kim.
My vote is for Young Buck. He is the best in the south. Just not promoted right. When he leaves G-Unit the world will know that this guy is HARD!
I.... don't give a fack. I don't like them anyways. Poppin' My Collar was hot, but other than that, I don't listen to them.
Escobar Caesar 02/01/08
It's supposed to be spelled Three 6 Mafia.
Face should win. But on the heels of Jigga winning the East, I won't be surprised to see Ludacris take it.
Escobar Caesar 02/01/08
Biggie got ripped off. Whatever. I love Jigga but Biggie should have won that.
Jay-Z got a new song out called Ain't I. It's off The Blueprint 3. You can find it off the net. I downloaded it off some Z-Share link. Took me forever to find it but it's kinda worth it.
Thats what I thought but just making sure
justrun7 02/01/08
Somone vote! Biggie and Jay are tied and I want to move on to the South.
Escobar Caesar 02/01/08
I was talking underground, but I only like Krazie Bone.
Escobar Caesar 01/31/08
No love for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in that Cleveland spot?
justrun7 01/31/08
I already know about Ray Cash. Shoot, I'm one of the few people in America who bought Cash On Delivery the day it came out.
I voted for Jay-Z.
Predicting:
Biggie in the East
Pac in the West
Face down South
Common from the Midwest

Pac wins it.
Escobar Caesar 01/30/08
Y'all gotta get hip to Cleveland. Chip the Ripper, Ray Cash, Fat Al....
Escobar Caesar 01/30/08
My vote is for Biggie. If he was alive, Jay-Z would have fallen in line behind him.
I think that was the dude that was on Real World New Orleans back in the day.
Biggie's up by 25%, or 1 vote.
Escobar Caesar 01/30/08
I never heard of him. My vote is going to Nas by the way.
No, never heard of him.
Escobar Caesar 01/30/08
You guys ever heard of David Sides. I been listening to him for awhile. Hes an insanly good piano player that does all current rap & r&b songs. Check him out hes rediculous.
justrun7 01/29/08
He deserves to be running 100%. He sucks.

Esco: Great idea on the poll and blog. I'm thinking of something strong for Friday.
Soulja Boy is running 100%
Escobar Caesar 01/28/08
I liked This Is Why I'm Hot, but nothing else by him. And I hated Like This.
Escobar Caesar 01/28/08
Also, easy choice for who pisses me off the most:

Soulja Boy...
Big Ben68 01/28/08
You guys don't like MIMS?
Big Ben68 01/28/08
Soulja Boy is an easy choice for the poll.
I absolutely abhor Soulja Boy. The dance sucks, his beats ****, his flow - don't get me started on that.
Escobar Caesar 01/28/08
I liked D4L. Betcha Can't Do It Like Me was hard.
Who pisses me off? Easy. Soulja Boy. What in the hell is Yahh!! anyway?
I'm 26 not 16 so his crap doesn't appeal to me.
That's convinced. I'm Me was the only good one on there. The rest like you said was iffy.
I'm Me was hard. The other were iffy.
Escobar Caesar 01/27/08
Heard The Leak. Wasn't that convinved. Need to actually hear the Carter III.
II actually have never heard of those, LoSo.
Escobar Caesar 01/26/08
Have any of you heard Lil Wayne's EP "The Leak"?
Escobar Caesar 01/26/08
I actually liked the songs.
LoS-I Am Torgo 01/26/08
From a podcast, I heard two hip hop songs you might like. They are
"Wait A Minute," by Cancer Rising,
"Butter And Guns" by Blue Scholars.
LoS-I Am Torgo 01/26/08
I know some real (real REAL) Kweli and Mos cats up in Fort Greene and they get mad when I talk about The Beautiful Struggle.
Glad to see Talib as the number one vote getter. He deserves it. Been listening to Quality a lot lately. That was a good album by him.

Also, real Kweli heads say The Beautiful Struggle was a pop album but I recommend it to anyone. Listen to that!!
That's why I only like typing on my Mac. It tells me when I **** up spelling.
Escobar Caesar 01/22/08
You spelled Conscious wrong (you forgot the s).
Big Ben68 01/22/08
#1: Talib
#2: Common
#3: Mos
#4 Lupe.

Good poll.
I dig Fresh young Lu.

Lupe is hot!
Thanks for the privileges.
DJTG_2010 01/21/08
I am a big fan of his. I know Cava is as well.
Escobar Caesar 01/21/08
I've recently become quite the Lupe Fiasco fan. Anyone else like his music?
We been stuck on 49 forever? Lets get this group to 50!!
M.I.A. is OK. Not really into the whole British grime scene but I know she's a force in it.
No problem LoS.
Escobar Caesar 01/18/08
No problem, man. Apology is accepted.
I have no idea why I'm saying this now, but anyways...
I'm sorry if I acted like d!.ck in the past about your group. There is nothing wrong with the hip-hop group and I was acting like an idiot.
LoS-I Am Torgo 01/18/08
I don't blame you DJ out of those albums I would put The Black Album least. It isn't the best of Jay-Z's albums. Listen to Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, or if you are in a pop-rap mood Vol 3 (far from his lyrical best but it's a catchy beat album).
Forgot about E.N.Y. Of course I got love for East New York. Also, let me say what up to the Do or Die Bed-Stuy.
I listened to Hip Hop is Dead, The Black Album, Straight Outta Compton, and It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back today. Probably liked Nas the most out of all of them. Jay-Z the least.
DJTG_2010 01/16/08
I haven't heard enough of her to decide if I'm a fan of hers or not.
Escobar Caesar 01/16/08
What do you guys think about M.I.A.? She's getting pretty popular and I really like some of her stuff.
DJTG_2010 01/16/08
What about East New York, Hov? That's where my dad makes his residence.
Escobar Caesar 01/16/08
"No vote cause "Nothin But A G Thang" aint on there"

I COMPLETELY forgot that!!!!
Big Ben68 01/16/08
Reppin' Brooklyn forever! Brownsville, Flatbush, Crown Heights stand the F Up!
Jigga starts nice but...
Nah, I'm a poster for what happened seein your moms
Doin five dollars worth to work just to get a dime
So pardon my disposition
Why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?
Picture me working McDonald's
I'd rather pull a mac on you
Sorry Ms. Jackson but I'm packin
I lose it when Mos Def says: Listen
Brooklyn wins again
It's the Stuy, it's the Bush, dem ni@@az again
I liked Jigga's first line-
"Just to get by, **** I sold coke, **** I pushed lah, carried a 4 5"
Escobar Caesar 01/15/08
Busta and Talib doesn't go together but Busta stepped up his game for that. He dropped some good 5 percenter knowledge on that.
I was actually shocked to hear Busta Rhymes... even though he was on every remix in the 90s, Busta and Talib don't seem to go together.
Escobar Caesar 01/15/08
Get By Remix is the best thing ever. If it wasn't for Kanye that would have been an all Brooklyn remix.
But since Kanye represented I can't be too mad by that.
1. Forgot About Dre
2. Still D.R.E.
3. F**k Wit Dre Day
No vote cause "Nothin But A G Thang" aint on there
justrun7 01/14/08
AH! LISTENING TO GET BY REMIX! I'M GONNA DIE OF HYPENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Escobar Caesar 01/14/08
Ms. Jackson 72%
Checkmate 28%

My bad.
Escobar Caesar 01/14/08
What was the 50 poll result?
Vote to The Watcher but it was close.
Personally, Still D.R.E is my favorite Dre song. Then Forgot About D.R.E., then Its Fack With Dre Day.
Escobar Caesar 01/14/08
I liked both...
Big Ben68 01/14/08
I liked the remix. The original version wasn't good enough for me.
Do you guys like "Hate It or Love It"?
Great poll idea Esco! As a 50 hater I like this.
Latest Poll results...

One Mic 66%
Made You Look 22%
The Message 11%

New poll: Best Jadakiss/Styles P 50 Cent diss
Escobar Caesar 01/11/08
My vote goes to One Mic over the Message just barely.
Changed my vote to The Message. I didn't see it at first.
I like the Ultimate Playlist. I'm going to do the Jay-Z version but I will wait until next week.
It's not his best song but I still vote for 2nd Childhood. Nas tells some real stuff on that.
and I know, I couldnt believe I got LL, I was prayin no one would take him because I had the very last pick.
It was a 5 rd draft, and I wouldnt change any of my picks for any you have listed.
Biggest steal was LL in the 5th, especially with his old stuff but you guys missed some major lyricists and looks like you based your draft off hits. You missed Slick Rick, Kool G. Rap, Method Man, Chuck D, Ghostface Killah & Mos Def and thats just off the top of my head.
justrun7 01/08/08
JK. EH and Cava's lists were pretty good.
Escobar Caesar 01/08/08
Results:
Tracy 45%
Esco 27%
efbasketball 9%
dyhard 9%
Buccaneer 9%

Everybody else's list sucked so bad they couldn't even vote for themselves...
Escobar Caesar 01/08/08
Great blogs. I gotta get back in the writing game.
Well, some people drafted Lil Wayne and Chamillionaire in the first round...
Escobar Caesar 01/08/08
Even though Tracy got the BIGGEST steal in the draft with Pac in the 2nd?
Big Ben68 01/08/08
I voted for Esco. Vote still stands but I can see how Tracy is leading. She does have a pretty good squad. I voted for Esco because of Biggie and he knew I got BIG forever.

BROOKLYN!!
What is it with Ohio State and the SEC anyway? Considering I'm a Wolverine fan I should be happy the Buckeyes lost but I'm actually annoyed by it. I hate LSU.
okay, who changed their vote!
!%$#@^ vote, not vot!
Whhoooo Im winning in the poll! Esco, vot for me, you know you wanna!
Goiod newz for Buckeye fans stat wise. The underdog has won the championship 5 out of the last 9 games. Ohio goes into the game 3 point dogs!
*one and only one
Escobar Caesar 01/07/08
The song was Us Placers. Some of the song is pretty gay, but in other parts the rap is pretty good. You'll be able to find it on YouTube.
You get - and only one - guess.
Escobar Caesar 01/07/08
Ohio State. I can't see LSU winning this game.
Championship game is tonight..who ya got??
What's the song called?
Big Ben68 01/07/08
I'm pretty sure it's CRS. The one with Pharrell, Kanye, and Lupe Fiasco?
BEN! Finally some sense arrives!
Escobar Caesar 01/06/08
You mean KRS.
Big Ben68 01/06/08
What do you guys think of CRS?
Did you hear the Upgrade U one?
Escobar Caesar 01/04/08
It looks like We Takin' Over is going to win this thing. Impressive, but I still like Show Me What You Got.
the poll is pretty much just between 2, we takin over and show me what you got
Dawgee 01/03/08
thses weren't even some of his top 5 freestyles in my opinion...these are all from da drought i think.
imstevie 01/03/08
Admittedly, for the last 3, I could have picked better ones. But it looks like it is between Show Me What You Got, Upgrade U and We Takin Over.
Escobar Caesar 01/03/08
No doubt, Show Me What You Got was hard. But that We Takin Over was insane.
Escobar Caesar 01/03/08
Easy. Gotta be Lil' Wayne on Show Me What You Got. The man said he's LeBron is Jigga is Jordan. I kinda lost it right there.
Poll results: Kanye killed it w/ 60%. neither Chamillionaire no DJ Khaled got a single vote. Everyone else had 10%. New poll coming up shortly...
Escobar Caesar 01/03/08
Whoa. Nobody like Khaled or Cham?
Escobar Caesar 01/02/08
Thanks. Happy New Year to you too.
Hey welcome back and happy new year!
Esco: I bootlegged The Cool. Funds were low, but it was one of the best albums I have heard this year. I got to put it behind Graduation and possibly American Gangster but Lupe did his thing,
IT WILL PICK UP. I'M HOME!
Wow. That was our first comment in 4 days. We need to pick it up, people!
Escobar Caesar 12/31/07
Happy New Years everyone!!
The cool is the best rap album of the year.
The Cool has to be one of the best rap albums I've listened to. I barely listen to rap anyway. The College Dropout was a little disappointing to me, but I really like Graduation, especially "Stronger."
DJTG_2010 12/26/07
LUPE FIASCO'S THE COOL DROPS TODAY!
Escobar Caesar 12/18/07
Lloyd Banks was amazing on his first album, but a little off on his second. Buck was great on both of his albums, but his second was just missing SOMETHING...
Big Ben68 12/18/07
Buck needs to leave G-Unit. He's far better then all of them, but 50 keeps holding him back.
I thought Banks would be the second star of the Unit, but Buck is just a beast. Buck The World was a great album.
Or attempting to beef.
Escobar Caesar 12/17/07
I heard Young Buck is on the album. Not sure how thats going to work w/ Weezy and 50 beefing...
Escobar Caesar 12/17/07
DAMN! The Carter III: The Leak has been pushed back. Weezy either knows that by waiting he increases the anticipation, or there must be label problems.
That song Soulja Girl is the worst thing I have ever heard. Oh well I think Weezy's Carter III the Leak comes out tomorrow. YES!!!!!!!
Soulja Boy isn't a rapper...he's a dance song...that sucks...and is not something to be listened to outside of a club/dance.
Big Ben68 12/17/07
Wow! Someone really said that? That guy can't believe that?? He just cant!
I said that because on YouTube some dumbass said the best rappers are
1. Soulja Boy
2. MIMS
3. 50 Cent
4. D4L
And KWELI is ruining ish...
Escobar Caesar 12/14/07
The only battle I want to see is T.I. and Ludacris finally go at it. No more veiled insults, they just need to straight up battle.
Actually, I would want to see a Lil Wayne/Lupe Fiasco or a Ludacris/Lil Flip battle. Those would be hot. I just want to see Soulja Boy get killed.
Escobar Caesar 12/14/07
Know what would be cool? A rapper's tourney. Like have 16 rappers and have them battle until we see who the TRUE best rapper alive is. Plus we'd get rid of the people ruining the game. Have 1 seed Nas and 16 seed Soulja Boy battle. LMAO that would be slaughter.
Escobar Caesar 12/14/07
R.I.P. to Ike Turner. He's not hip-hop but he deserves the condolences.
I forgot some more I just looked at what I had. My funniest mash is of 50 Cent with 80's music it sounds crazy and Eminem & Micheal Jackson.
justrun7 12/12/07
Oh I forgot Nas & Marvin Gaye, Wu-Tang & The Who and Jay-Z & The Beatles
justrun7 12/12/07
Nas + Muddy Watters, Busta Rhymes + Rick James, Bun B + Charlie Wilson, Busta + Luther
Escobar Caesar 12/12/07
Yea I got it already my favorite mashup tho is Nas & Al Green then Biggie & Frank Sinatra
justrun7 12/12/07
Nah, but that sounds real interesting.
you guys heard the new Jay-Z led Zepplin mash up?
84 12/11/07
You can nominate it one two and three. The only mixtapes I buy are Weezy's, DJ Drama's and the Southern Smoke series. That's it.
Can we go ahead and appoint Lil Wayne's Da Drought 3 top 3 best mixtapes ever?
Escobar Caesar 12/10/07
Kill it as in good.
Escobar Caesar 12/08/07
Heard 5000 ones. Hot!! Hear Cheers by Pharell and Clipse on the recent DJ Drama Gangsta Grillz album. I like it.
And that's bad as in bad NOT bad as in good.
Big Ben68 12/07/07
Hm, kill it as in good or kill it as in bad?
Big Ben68 12/07/07
You guys heard 5000 Ones by DJ Drama? T.I., Yung Joc, Willie Da Kid, Young Jeezy, Twista and Nelly are all on it. (Willie and Jeezy's parts kill it)
Escobar Caesar 12/07/07
Chamillionaire.

Hey, once I get my personal laptop up and running again I'm going to start doing Videos blogs!!
Big Ben68 12/07/07
Nice poll. I like Sean Paul but between him and T-Pain, I have to vote for T-Pain.
I don't know.
We have another defector. We had 42 members but now we are back down to 41. Why are people leaving?
Come on y'all step up. Let Esco know if you want to drop something on FanNation.
Blogging is hard, man. It's so much writing and since I've been doing these RIP's and Profile's I have to do so much research. I feel like I'm back in College with these. Let someone else blog for awhile. Whoever wants to blog answer the post in The Booth.
Find out who wants to blog and let 'em do it.
Big Ben68 12/05/07
Should we open up blogging to the whole group, I'm a little tired, too.
Escobar Caesar 12/05/07
My brain hurts from blogging. I'ma fall back for the rest of the week.
Somebody bounced. We had 41 members yesterday, but today we have 40. I wonder who defected...
I'ma say good bye to the Pimp. And we will see you in another place.Droppin' heat on the streets. This ones's fo' Da PIMP! Pimpin'
R.I.P.
PIMP C
Dre Dilla 12/05/07
Wait, what did I miss?
Big Ben68 12/04/07
I just heard the news on the radio. I cannot believe that a 33 year old man would die of natural causes. That's just crazy. Rest In Peace to a true Underground King: Pimp C.
Word, R.I.P. But I actually am a big UGK fan
Escobar Caesar 12/04/07
R.I.P. Pimp C

Don't really like UGK but its a shame to lose a legend

LUDACRIS' LUDACRISMAS AS WELL!!! WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS COMMENT, GET ON YOUTUBE ALREADY!
Escobar Caesar 12/03/07
GO ON YOUTUBE AND LISTEN TO LIL WAYNE'S WE TAKIN' OVER FREESTYLE! NOW, FOOL, NOW!!!!
Escobar Caesar 12/03/07
I'm a fan of Fat Joe but I wonder how he became so good all of a sudden. I got some albums of his from 1995-1996 and he sounds 10 times better now. Maybe he got better ghost writers...who knows?
Got another artist profile coming tomorrow. It's going to be crazy, I promise y'all that.
I don't know if any of you guys from tha East Coast know bout this rapper Andre Nickatina but his s**t slaps check him out
spurschamps 12/03/07
What's gonna be the new poll?
Escobar Caesar 12/02/07
Do you like "I Won't Tell"? I think it's pretty good.
I am
Escobar Caesar 12/02/07
Anyone else here a fan of Fat Joe?
I hate every band/group mentioned below this comment...
I, three, am a Nickelback fan.
Welcome.
Jasmine is in the Cleveland group too, everyone. Welcome to our group!..;)
Only as the drugs are gone...yes!!

P.S.: Kids please don't do drugs.
I feel like im dying by lil wayne,

love it
It's OK to like rock, Esco. I too like Nickelback. This Is How You Remind Me, and that new song Rock Star are pretty good.
Nickelback! *gasps in horror*
I think we need to stage an intervention stat for Esco!
I am embaressed. I heard a Nickelback song and liked it. I find comfort in the fact that Paul Wall, Lupe Fiasco and Twista are in the video.
Escobar Caesar 11/28/07
You guys heard I Get Money remix? It's kind of old, but Ludacris raped the track.
Escobar Caesar 11/28/07
Yeah, Esco keep doing it. Sorry, I haven't been keeping it up on my end. Been busy with actual work lately. My work schedule is really kicking my behind.
I'm going to have to start talking to some people as this isn't working.
Big Ben68 11/27/07
Your doing a great job Esco, and the group is picking up.
The low level of activity in this group is depressing. I'm blogging out of my ****, BigBen, tracy and Hov are off fighting the Mods, and yet it still seems as if we are at a stand still here.
Escobar Caesar 11/26/07
Check out A Tribe Called Quest if you want some good stuff...
DJTG_2010 11/26/07
I'm in...
DJTG_2010 11/26/07
Hmm..*thinks about heat*
Group is getting kinda stale. We need to come up with some heat.
What happened to the lyrics?
Big Ben68 11/20/07
I picked The Booth. If no one disagrees before tomorrow, I am changing it before I go to NC.
Escobar Caesar 11/20/07
What should we change the name "Locker Talk" to?
Escobar Caesar 11/20/07
Excellent, Hova
Escobar Caesar 11/20/07
Next week. Mine are up, the way I like it too. I took Tracy's suggestion and found a Jay-Z song with little cursing and cleaned it up.
When can I change the bars?
Maybe you could edit it like some radio stations do,Hova.
I really am so p'd off about putting Kurtis Blow up there. I like the song and it's sports related but man...I wanted to put Jigga.
Fight the power.
Big Ben68 11/20/07
You are now.
Escobar Caesar 11/20/07
No one made me a supermember to change the Bars.
This sucks so bad about the censoring. I really wanted to put some Jigga up there. Man....haters had to shut things down for people.
Went old school Kurtis Blow and his joint Basketball. It's clean. If I come up with something better I'm going to change it.
Hova, just go ahead and do it. I think G.O.A.T. forgot and I am sick of seeing that warning.
Escobar Caesar 11/19/07
Bull crap man. Fannation this is BS! I KNOW dogs pigs and sheep are behind this.

I forgot this was censornation
It's supposed to be G.O.A.T.'s. I passed my turn on to him.
Crap. Who's turn is it now? Make sure they are clean.
Escobar Caesar 11/19/07
No more bad lyrics. Fannation is going to boot us. If we are going to post bars we are going to have to make them clean.
What a coincidence! We were in dire need of a critic..;)
I've decided to join the group under Tracy's invite... I will let it be known that I despise hip-hop, so I join as the critic of the group...
I have a good song to put up there.
chamillionaire is takin ovea da game
im dead 11/17/07
G.O.A.T. can do the Bars Of The Week next, I just want my turn after him.
Esco: I had the same thought. We need someone else to step up, blog or something.
When is it my turn for Bars of the Day?
Big Ben, too
Escobar Caesar 11/16/07
Maybe this why we have so little members. Me, Hova and efbasketball seem to be the only ones doing anything.
Escobar Caesar 11/16/07
We can use some more members, that's for sure? 23 is kinda low.
Now that's a Logo.
That's good...
Big Ben68 11/16/07
How about that?
Escobar Caesar 11/15/07
A universal picture...hm...like what?
Big Ben68 11/15/07
Listening to some Geto Boys right now. Mind's Playin' Tricks On Me.
Good idea, Esco. We need some more bloggers. Where's Dane at? He needs to get his stuff out.
We should have a universal pic.
I was thinking... We should do a hip hop spotlight, like each week pick a different artist and write a blog on him/her.
Escobar Caesar 11/14/07
Shouldn't we change the picture? Maybe we need one universal image, no matter what bars we use.
I think someone did bounce. Damn.
Did someone drop? I thought we had 24 yesterday.
Escobar Caesar 11/13/07
If you are going to pick a Kanye joint, why not Can't Tell Me Nothing. That song was everywhere.
I liked Stronger FAR more than Good Life.
Big Ben68 11/13/07
I meant pic
Escobar Caesar 11/12/07
Every three days is good. Are you gonna change the pick?
Escobar Caesar 11/12/07
I think we should do a new poll every 3 days. What do you guys think.
Just read that Kanye West's Mom just passed. I got a link to a story on MSN if you are interested:

http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=283724&GT1=7702
If I get next you can pass it off to G.O.A.T. Let him get the bars out.
You can change the picture too.
Big Ben68 11/12/07
I HAD to put the whole song. It is just brilliant. I couldnt cut it down.
When will it be my turn?
Yes.
ef, you've got the bars tomorrow, right?
Escobar Caesar 11/11/07
But think about it. They listen to drug overdosers. We listen to gangsters with talent. Which is better?
HYPNOTIZED IS THE BEST!
dane_porter12 11/11/07
About D,P,S...

Seriously, I don't think we should trash their group or anything. Let 'em be. If they get us, get 'em back. Let 'em hate, like Ben said. Who gives a s*it.
dane_porter12 11/11/07
YES!!!!
dane_porter12 11/11/07
The Group is growing. Nice!! Nice job on the groups. I'm a little busy (just stopping by to say hi really) but I promise to hit you off on a blog about remixes either tomorrow or tuesday.
YEAAAAAAAAH!
Yeah Esco. We are up to 23 members now and I can tell they are getting nervous.
Hey, just don't worry about them...

Just let 'em hate...
Big Ben68 11/10/07
I'm sick of the swag-biting farm animals. Now they are doing another top rock songs ever, just a week after I did my 100 rap songs.
Escobar Caesar 11/10/07
I say, yeah let him blog. The more the better. Go for it.
What do you think, should we let him blog?
Escobar Caesar 11/10/07
Anybody gonna be nice and give the young man a chance to blog? Please?
dane_porter12 11/10/07
I need something to blog about.
Escobar Caesar 11/09/07
You got views, dude. Damn!
My hate for Snoop Dogg is growing. I just found out he stol "nuttin but a g-thang" from NWA. RIGHT from them WORD for freaking WORD!
I dno dude. I heard it once, but then I never heard it again and I was wondering if some one could help me out.
Nope. By who?
Escobar Caesar 11/07/07
Anyone here hear the song Cookieman?
This siht has to have a glitch or something, no way in f*ck I got this many views and the only people I sent it to was you guys
Escobar Caesar 11/07/07
WHAT'S GOOD!!! 45 MINUTES AND 5400 VIEWS!!!
Escobar Caesar 11/07/07
I wanted to do Hip Hop Quotables, but there are no bars, he goes straight through. So I did Blow It Out. I got either Nas or Lupe next time it's my turn.
Escobar Caesar 11/07/07
Luda, luda I'm built to last
Nicknamed double barrel cuz I'm built to blast!
Big Ben68 11/07/07
LUDACRIS!!!!
Escobar Caesar 11/07/07
EF Basketball can have the bars next week but I know what I am putting up when my time comes. I'm listening to it right now.
Listening to Jigga's American Gangster right now. It ain't that bad. Not his best album but it's better than Kingdom Come...thank God because that sucked.
Heh heh heh..
Escobar Caesar 11/06/07
THEY WERE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!!!! AND WE LET EM OFF DA HOOK!!!!!
I think it is time for a war...
Big Ben68 11/05/07
Man, those farm animals can ****ing kick rocks, blatant **** biting our swag... Who they think they are?
Escobar Caesar 11/05/07
Just noticed that the other music group here (I refuse to call them by name) now posts lyrics as their banner.
Man are they some biters.
I have not gone yet, but you can have it next. I can go after you.
Can I go next? Or, did Hova already take it?
I hate Fat Joe...
Big Ben68 11/05/07
Good Bars. Joey Crack does his thing on that.
I switched up and did Fat Joe's verse from Brown Paper Bag. I'll change it Wednesday.
Escobar Caesar 11/05/07
It's your day I Hate Wolverines. Just change the date in parentheses to the date of the day you change it...
Big Ben68 11/05/07
You have to wait until tomorrow. You get it tomorrow...
Big Ben68 11/04/07
Can I change it now, or do I have to wait until tomorrow?
Escobar Caesar 11/04/07
!!!!!!!
dane_porter12 11/04/07
YO1
dane_porter12 11/04/07
I missed a couple posts, Im sooo behind!
My bad, Part 3 of the songs list is on my page and not on the groups page. Accident. Check it out, though.
Escobar Caesar 11/02/07
I am doing 8 ball

NO ONE COPY ME!
I was going to do F*ck the Police, but I think that may be a LITTLE too vulgar for this site...
Big Ben68 11/02/07
come on BB, straight outta compton is their worst song!
Everytime I think about Straight Outta Compton, I think of the movie CB4. Chris Rock cracks me up with that.
Straight Outta Locash!!!!
I also want to say I really have nothing against rap. I was just messing with your group. i don't really like rap, but I don't mind listening to old school stuff like Public Enemy and a few newer songs.
LoS-I Am Torgo 11/01/07
NEW BARS...yeah...original NWA.
Big Ben68 10/31/07
Peep Part Deux of the 100 best rap songs of all time
Escobar Caesar 10/31/07
Duh...
Escobar Caesar 10/31/07
I can guarantee a Jay or Biggie song. I was going to post a Black Star joint, but I figured I Hate Wolverines would beat me to it.
Yeah, I'm either doing Nas, Luda or Talib
Escobar Caesar 10/31/07
Im doing NWA too. They have so many good songs. Wolves hater you going next week?
If you put back on N.W.A. can I request Boyz N' The Hood. I liked that.
Not a fan of Sweetest Girl. I have heard it a few times. You are right that it has a reggae feel to it but it just don't move me.
Wow, hurt is killing in the pole. you guys ever heard sweetest girl? Its pretty good. Sort of like raggae.
LoS...never again.
Big Ben68 10/31/07
Im sick of dogs pigs and sheep.
"Big city and bright lights, short days and longs nights, no stress and no strife, I'm high off living the life!"
Living the Life-Notorious B.I.G., Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Faith Evans
Escobar Caesar 10/30/07
So the next up for Bars of the week (next Monday 11/5/07) will be I Hate Wolverines. Who's after him?
Big Ben68 10/30/07
Definitely some N.W.A. Big Ben most definitely.
I'm going to change the Bars of the Day tomorrow...not much time tonight...I think I'll go with some NWA.
Big Ben68 10/30/07
WHAT'S THE WORD?? WORD UP!!!
LoS-I Am Torgo 10/30/07
Sorry
Escobar Caesar 10/30/07
All respect due to J.M.J.
Whatever...I'm going to change it tonight when I change the lyrics...
Big Ben68 10/30/07
Dude, my Bars week...my picture...bring Dre back!!!
Big Ben68 10/30/07
I hope you don't mind, but I changed the pic to Jam Master Jay
Escobar Caesar 10/30/07
And I set the tags like that so when someone types something like that in they will have this group pop up as well...
Big Ben68 10/29/07
I set tags and a message to non members.
Big Ben68 10/29/07
Well, since it is my Bars week, I'll go ahead and change the pic to the man, Dr. D. R. E.
Big Ben68 10/29/07
Big Ben thats a good idea. Like new songs and stuff like that too.

You guys can change the picture lol. This isnt my group this is our group I was just the one who got tired of waiting and started it. If you guys want another pic be my guest.
Whoever does the bar that week should change the pic to one of that MC.
Escobar Caesar 10/29/07
I can also deal with Eazy-E, but Dr. Dre might be a better pic with the lyrics I have up...but Eazy is good too...
Big Ben68 10/29/07
I think we should change the group pic often as well...give some new flavor...maybe have the Drop of the Week blog (I'll write)...

I'll detail the biggest CD drops of the week (or month).
Big Ben68 10/29/07
I can definitely live with Eazy being the avatar. I just want the most gangsta picture of him imaginable.
I put Eazy up.
Bars of The Day or Week is fine by me. Just know that when my turn comes it's going to be either Biggie, Jay or Nas or I might pull out some Black Star.
AFROMAN?!?!?!? Biggie! Or Pac! Or Nas! Or Big Pun, Big L, Eazy E, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop, or Talib Kweli! Afroman is cool, just not enough to be our avatar.
Escobar Caesar 10/29/07
Face it Ef, rap sucks. Hahaha.
AFROMAN FOOL!
What do you guys think?
Big Ben68 10/29/07
Or possibly even Bars of the Day.
Big Ben68 10/29/07
I just added a Bars of the Week as our motto. Each member can change it weekly. We can set it up so each member gets a week and it cycles every few weeks. I guess I'll get this week since I thought of it, unless someone has a problem with that...
Big Ben68 10/29/07
Our picture should be of DJ Kool Herc, the "godfather" of hip-hop.
We need a picture and a name for the group!!!!

Or at least a picture...
Big Ben68 10/29/07
What's good?
Cool, and thanks.
Hova, you can blog all you want. Its fine. Im about to post one right now.
Sorry EF for jumping the gun and posting a blog. My bad on that one man.

Big Ben68 10/29/07
