J-Rock got some LIVE reps in,SWEET!He has to hand that ball off better tho.Way to go McCown!
We have to start Russel soon or we're going to have another bad season next year because he won't be used to the speed of the game.
Could it possibly be time 2 give our #1 pick his chance, or is it still 2 soon? what do the rest of you think?
go vote on my raiders vs chiefs throwdown. access it through my profile if it's not on the throwdown page.
Mistakes, mistakes and more mistakes! If it weren't for so many,we could have had a chance.Missed throws(short and behind players),PENALTIES(UGH!)way to many of them on important drives, missed tackles, missed blocking assignments, and last turnovers. This was one ugly game and with the looks of it,the Raiders needs some major improvement.Did we have a defense on the field? At times, they did well, but it wasn't when we needed it most. This loss is a hard one to take with so many mistakes being made.
With a "D" like SD in ranking 27th against the pass, look for The Raiders to "Air it out" this Sunday!GOOO RAIDERS!!!!!!!
Dont think that Daunte can't pass, because Curry dropped two passes and Mike Williams dropped two also. And it doesn't help that Daunte only got to attempt 12 passes anyways. Keep the faith in Daunte, he can pass, as well as run.
The lack of passing game cost me some fantasy points, but Defense got me some average ones.
Daunte "OWNED" the fish.Keep the chip on the shoulder bud.GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Write it how you want to write it," Porter said. "We will win on Sunday."<Quoting Joey Porter for Miami!Nothing like Fuel for the game,eh Daunte!GO RAIDERS!
scorned quarterbacks are 38-7 in games against their former teams over the past 12 seasons. How's that for stats!GO RAIDERS!
We need more offense than just Lamont Jordan. He's our #1 rusher and our #2 receiver and he didn't catch any passes last week. That says a lot about where our offense is. Robert Gallery is finally showing some signs of life after some spectacular blocks last week. He might have a probowl in his future as a guard. Right now our biggest weakness is our secondary and they need to really pick up their game. They are not playing like they were the #1 pass defense in the NFL last year and #3 overall. It's time to turn it around this week.
McCown has 1 more chance to prove he's #1.He better be more accurate and hit his open receivers when they are open! After last weeks game against the Bengals,i see no DB's to stop him.I think this game WILL be the turning point for the Raiders and the rest of the season.I look for our DB's to have at least 2 INT's against the Browns. The Raiders will need to put TD's on the board and NOT try FG attempts. The "O" line had better step up this week and give McCown time to pass.I have seen some improvement there! Our Defensive line needs to show up this wek and have a good game w/ sacks.Let go Raiders and beat them Brownies,so i can have bragging rights here in OHIO!GO RAIDERS!!!!
Defense must shut down CLE. But the O has to have balance, in order 4 that to happen we need culppeper in there +the receivers need 2 come 2play as well,we cant keep going to the kicking game 2 try 2 win games, obviously.
I'll say it like this...Cleveland's pass defense has proven to be weak 2 weeks in a row. I look for Ronald Curry to have a field day and hopefully Porter too. Our secondary needs to pick back up where they left off last year especially after the way Cleveland out dueled Cincinnati in their shoot out last week. Our Only DB that has an INT is a back up and the other 3 INTs came from linebackers that are gettin better and better every time they play. I really want our offense to step up their game so that we don't have to rely on any kicker.
Very true, Terminator! I felt we had scrutinized trhe hell out of the defense in the first game so I tended to focus more on Seabass and McCown. Honestly, we had more than one chance to put that game away and we didn't.
Plain and Simple, we better annhilate the Cleveland mutts!!! I understand Kiffin does not want to give up on McCown, but one more INT or Fumble and I'm going to pull my FUCKlN HAIR OUT!!!! Oh wait, let me add missed field goal to that list as well!
I agree with every point so far.
But where has our defense been?
I say if we can't stop Cleveland next week, then we're going to be in a world of hurt.
Texas,
I have never liked Seabass. He has to be one of the most inconsistent kickers in the league, HOWEVER, at 52 yards did you see where that damn ball hit the upright?!?! He could have made it from 70 yards out!! I don't question his power, I question his accuracy.
This week it wasn't so much Janikowski, it was more Walt Anderson givin Denver the illegal time out. But still, Janikowski should've hit the second one more accurately. If he just did it once he should be able to do it again. It's not easy to hit long field goals like that so close together, but he could have done it, but he didn't so his nay sayers are still saying nay because he missed the one that counted.
RAIDERS GET ROBBED IN DENVER.But no one gives a s**t because it was our RAIDERS! How the f*ck do you award a timeout after the ball is already in the air? opponents 1 league 1 raiders 0.sea bass must go!!!!!
I think again Sebas let our team down for the second straight week.Trade, pay or give a right arm for Nugent w/ the Jets and then watch or team turn around.Until then we are going to continue to lose by 3 or more points.
THAT WAS OUR GAME!!!!!! DAMNIT SEABASS, DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!
I'm tired of relying on him. He is so damn inconsistent it isn't even funny!! How many does he have to miss until we replace him?
DC kicks DB in DC(Denver Colorado)The Raiders "D" steps up and picks JC multiple times.Daunte,This is your chance to prove all the "NAY SAYERS" wrong! If your a TRUE RADA FAN,well you HATE the donkeys as much as i do!LET"S GO RAIDERS!!!!!
Looks as though we will get to see how Culpepper performs in Denver! That man, better kick the living hell out of them!! I will be glued to my TV (or out drinking my **** off at a local sports bar) during the game.
WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!!!!
what's up with f##ckn sea bas 0 for 3 that f*&^ckn hurt. even though McCown did ok i still feel Culppeper is a more competitive choice, 3to's killed our chances. pass D took the afternoon off, that killed us...
Well, looks as though Jamarcus is going to be signed this week. I'm not so sure I am excited about this. I think he is a greedy rat **** quite honestly. People like that don't deserve the money they are getting. He had better earn this money!!!
You got that right Rada!! Seabass needs to get his **** out of Oakland, I've never liked that fool and now I have plenty more reason to doubt him.
Overall, Sunday wasn't a total bust. For some strange reason our pass defense absolutely sucked!!! It definitely cost us the game, besides the turnovers! McCown actually surprised me a little bit. Although he had 2 INTs and a couple fumbles, the man went 30-40 for 313 yrds, that's pretty good.
Biggest surprise....O-line looked good! Gave McCown plenty of time to throw, maybe too much time. He did surprise me but he needs to get rid of the ball quicker.
If the D is able to perform up to par, we will win a lot of games!! This should have been a WIN!!!!
I think it's time for Jano to GO!Come on!Three missed field goals!Could have been the difference and we could have won if he would have made them all!
HEY RAIDER FANS!!! Here we go raiders 28 lions 13. 1&0 and more to come. JUST WIN BABY!!!
You know I'll be there Rada4life!!! It will be one helluva game!
Raiders win 24-7 with our D will be getting a few picks and a few sacks;>)!Those sacks will hurt, cause they will be in the dirt!HA HA DAMN i wish i could be there, but i will be watching in the East coast supporting the RAIDER NATION!Silence the critics and most of all the Lions fans(and give JR something to think about)! Thanks Raiders fan for making my visit to the coliseum AWESOME against the RAMS! GO RAIDERS!
you = would, sorry for the brain fart...it's Friday.
According to CNNSI's Peter King, Russell's agents are meeting with the Raiders today in Oakland to hopefully put this baby to rest. We'll have to see what happens. It almost sounds as though this meeting will make or break the deal, which you make sense with the season starting for the Raiders on Sunday.
Speaking of Sunday, I'll go ahead and say Raiders win 30 - 10!! That's a butt whoopin!
Looks as though Newberry has beaten out Grove for the starting center job.
BUT more importantly, the Coliseum has sold out for Sunday's game!!! No blackout for Bay area fans!!!
Ooh, the article by CNNSI regarding what the Raiders have to say about the Jamarcus deal is a must read. Simply for the humor. Basically Kiffin says "I wouldn't pay any attention to what someone's uncle has to say!" That's not exactly it, but I was definitely waiting for the Raiders to respond to Jamarcus' loud mouth uncle.
F'em, F'em all!!!
Looks as though this deal with Russell may be coming to an end. Not that I trust the papers but several articles have just been released saying things are looking good and have come along nicely in recent days.
We'll have to see, I don't think he'll be playing this season anyway. I doubt he'll be signed before the Lions game, but you never know.
The season is upon us ,and it looks like our raiders are heading towards avast improvement. i'm not going venture a prediction regarding record but i do know that we will not go 2&14. so raider fans lets go out and show our support where ever we may be and let the haters that WIN LOSE OR TIE RAIDERS TILL WE DIE!!!!!!
I was pleased with what I saw vs the Cards last night. McCown had a TD scoring drive that ate up 7 minutes in 14 plays. Walter had a 12 play 6min 50sec drive and finished it with a nice fade pass to Mike Williams, who was also impressive. Culpepper looked good once he settled down. It was good to see him roll out and throw accurate passes.(two of them were dropped though). I think Daunte's 50 yard pass to J. Lee Higgins is a glimpse of what we can expect from him this year. The starting D looked solid with two 3 and outs to start the game.
