Athlon has LSU at 9 in there preseason polls
CenLa Tiger:
Now that we know the story of RP being kicked off the team, I would say that was not true. RP knew he would be the starter and Miles would never allow a player to talk to him that way and stay. RP will most likely end up at McNeese and then go early to the NFL. If not he will not be able to behave himself if he sits out a year to transfer to a Div 1a school.
CenLA--no truth to that. RP is in class working hard and looks forward to competing.
Please let me know if there is any validity to this: I heard from a very reliable source that the reason that Ryan Perrilloux was suspended is that Coach Miles made a statement to reporters that the quarterback position was still a competition a few months ago. My source tells me that Ryan entered Miles office and told him that he deserved the starting position and if he didn't get it he was transferring McNeese state......and threw in a few expletives to boot. He stayed upset for a while and quit going to classes etc..................is there any truth to this?
I've heard that the only reason ryan was suspended was because when he went to his dads funeral miles gave him some time off and he stayed a couple of days too long. Thats what my cousen who goes to LSU told me.
LSU should be very good this year... the only question is if Ryan Perriloux can stay out of trouble. If so LSU has a great shot at the National Title again.
People are saying LSU is going to be as good this year but beleive they are going to end up with one loss to Florida at the swamp. Because they are geting more talent back then people think.
I apologize for the fact that Southern Cal didn't make it to face you Tigers in the title game by losing to lowly Stanford at home. LSU deserves a more worthy opponent than Ohio State.
You guys are going to destroy those lumbering, clumsy Buckeyes. The Big 10 is a Big Joke. The BCS matchups are pathetic this year. Hawaii should have played Illinois and Georgia should have gone to the Rose Bowl. Now you Tigers need to expose the Buckeyes for the imposters that they are.
check out OSULSU.com for all the information you need before the BCS. talk smack on our message boards and "Guess the Score" to win $1000.
Not trying to invade ya'lls space, but I'm just curious if anyone has any predictions or wanted to talk up the LSU-Bama game.

So our beloved Tigers lost this weekend to an underrated Wildcats team. It wasn't a bad loss other than a few missed calls on the officials part but that happens in every game so not really an excuse. I think though that the Tigers are very capable of rebounding their way to the title game. Just win out the remaining schedule and pull for Michigan against Ohio St. and I'm sure B.C. will lose a game...GEAUX Tigers!!
The Sooners are a great team and should be ranked where they are now. However, OU has had their chances at the national championships and have failed to deliver. Lost to LSU in 2003, to USC in 2004, and Ohio St. in 2005. Auburn got cheated and disrespected in 2004 with an undefeated season and OU was manhandled by USC. I know this is a differnt year and we should not consider the past, but LSU is showing that it is for real and very capable of going head to head against USC in N. O.
Of course we will see how LSU fairs against Florida next Saturday. IF LSU dominates Florida then I think all of these issues will be put to bed. If not then the door will be open for other considerations.
I don't think Notre Dame wants to match Alabama's deal right now, but who knows. Alabama is fortunate to have Saban at this time since he has burned his bridges with the NFL, so no one will offer him and not many will try to top Alabama's $ 4 million deal. I think Nick Saban will probably stay at Alabama as long as he is viewed with greatness. If he fails to deliver to Alabama he will most likely resign saying he is burned out and will wait a year or so Like Steve Spurrier did until someone else comes knocking on his door.
The guy is a terrific recruiter and a good defensive coach, but not that many LSU players really liked him that much. Most of them see Les Miles as a good man concerned about them and their families.
I don't think OU is overrated, they are very good, probably the #3 in country behind LSU and Florida, USC is the one who is overrated, along with the rest of the pac10 and big10 as well....Geaux Tigers
If any of you check out ESPN.com, a recent poll says more people think the Great Gods at LSU should be number one instead of the overrated
USC losers
Where is the Smack now? I heard from a tirade of LSU fans about how OU is overrated, that it was just N. Texas, and wait till Miami. Well 1/2 a hundred and a complete beat down later. .Yes he "U" was held to 7 first downs and 1.5 yds a carry and less than 90 passing yards. Hate to scare you but we will be climbing the BCS ladder to an undefeated reg season.
However all should agree that any achool with the arrogance to self promclaim themselves the "U" needs a shot in the mouth on any given Saturday
Hey i need some help in a throwdown guys if anyone is on contact me

So let's look at a little history:
Nick Saban is making bank ($) at MSU, beating Michigan and Ohio State on the field and in the recruiting wars.
LSU makes him an offer ($$). He flies down for a visit and never goes back. He calls his wife, tells her to put the house up for sale, get the kids, and move to Baton Rouge. He speaks of how he always wanted to coach at a big time college program, and he can think of no other better than LSU because it is the only big school in a state overflowing with good recruits. He begins beating Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and the rest of the SEC in recruiting and on the field. All the while, he turns down NFL offers from teams like Chicago.
Miami makes him an offer ($$$). He lies to the LSU fans for weeks, saying he has not gotten an offer and never spoke with the Dolphins. Then, on Chrismas Day, he announces his resignation, boards an orange and teal jet, and flies to his new job in Miami. He speaks of how he has wanted to coach in the NFL but didn't want to do it until he could coach for a historically great team like the Dolphins. He begins turning around an ailing Miami team but makes two horrible mistakes - he tries to resurect Ricky Williams, and he picks Culpepper over Brees.
Alabama makes him an offer ($$$$). He lies to Miami fans and tells them he has never gotten an offer and never even spoke with Alabama. Hours after denying the offer, he accepts the job, boards a jet, and flies to Tuscaloosa. He speaks of how he is so proud to be coaching at a historically great program like Alabama, and can think of no other team he'd rather coach for. In a month, he assembles a top 10 recruiting class. He will rais an Alabama team from the ashes and make them a contender again. But . . .
A couple of years from now, what happens when the Irish realize that Charlie Weiss (who at this point is only 4 games ahead of Willingham) is not Knute Rockne. Notre Dame is a historically great program with solid recruiting potential. What if Notre Dame makes Saban an offer ($$$ NBC Contract $$$) . . .
