PHOENIX SUNS ALL THE WAY

Hopefully, Steve Kerr can get the ship back on course and have his critics be wrong for a change. It will be a tough road to walk, but I have faith in the purple and orange!!

The Suns have resigned Grant Hill and Steve Nash, hopefully, a sign of good things to come, and a step in the right direction on the road to restoring the prestige to the organization.

Having said that, the waters are still murky concerning Amare. I would like to see him stay with the Suns, but also would like him to step up and stop acting like a bit of a primadonna. He needs to mature as a professional NBA player, not just expect a max-out on his contract. I am not trying to take away the fact that he can play, or his status as an All-star. I am just wanting him to man up and play defense. Amare is not the only one that this concept applies to.

For too long, the Suns have been known as "run-and-gun", which is one facet that I love. The excitement of seeing Amare, J-Rich, Nash, and Hill run the floor and just breakdown the other team through steals, crazy assists, and killer dunks is something I could watch all day. I just feel that if the Suns want to be a championship team, which I know they do, as does the city of Phoenix, they need to round out their court skills, and defense is an integral part of the game.

All of this off-season second-guessing is tiresome, Phoenix Suns fans still believe in our team. Nay-sayers be damned, the Phoenix will rise again from the ashes, the ashes of post-Terry Porter, Shaq trade, questionable play, and failure to make the playoffs. Phoenix is still a viable contender in the West. I have every confidence in my team from the desert, to not only perform at the high levels I always remember them to play at, but to show the West and the rest of the NBA that the Suns will rise to the challenge.
