Since Fan nation is just getting started, I thought it would be cool to found a group. I reasoned that a lot of people would join a Bill Simmons group, since I bet most people on here read his stuff at ESPN. So I made this group, hoping to be the first Bill Simmons group that everyone would join. But I thought of this group as more of a facebook-style group- a cool tagline on your profile and a chance to show your support for something. On fannnation, however, everything is about discusssion, not circles of mutual interest. If no one joins this group for a while, I guess I'll delete it.

Bill Simmons is great. He is so funny and in his chat the other day he answered 39,000 questions!!! 39,000!!! Apparently a lot of other people like Bill too. I also like how he I can relate to him, being from Massachusetts.

getting the #5 pick in the draft is sure to be a new level of gut punch... this coupled with the Doc Rivers extension, the horrible talent surrounding Pierce and Jefferson... Sure the draft is deep and we may end up with Brewer or Horford from FL but its just not the same as having Oden or even Durant...

I can't wait to read Simmons' take on the Celtics dropping all the way to the #5 pick. I love the guy, but this is such a richly deserved fate, and I'm sure he'll have some choice things to say.
