WOW what an amazing preseason 31-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys.  No dropped passes by anybody, Michael Huff has a big INT, a turnover was created by special teams, good offense and defense; WOW it was just amazing to watch.  If I didn't know any better, I would've thought our starters were in the whole game.  All the QBs that played looked good as well as the RBs and WRs.  There were still some excessive penalties that Coach Cable said need to be worked out, but other than that he said that the team did every thing he wanted them to do in this game.  It makes the…

With OTAs happening and training camp around the corner, now is all the talk about who will actually make the team.  Tom Cable really seems to buy into the fact that he wants all players at any optional work out or else they will lessen their chances at making the team.  I see a lot of talent and I see a lot of over paid players so it will be a tough choice.  Here is my picks so far.  Starters are bold and players likely to get cut, injured or go to the practice squad are in italics.  I'm starting with defense.

Oakland Raider 2009 Draft picks

This year was the most interesting draft in a long time.  Nobody had any identical mock boards.  Perhaps the most stunning pick was WR Darius Heyward-Bey going #7 overall to the Oakland Raiders.  Due to his low value, one would think that they would've traded down and got an extra pick so he wouldn't have to be paid a top 10 draft contract.  Coach Cable was asked "Why did you pass on Michael Crabtree and Jeremy Maclin (who were projected as the top 2 WRs in the draft)?"  His answer was "Maclin and Crabtree are both great football players, but they came from a spread…

First time in a long time that I felt good after a loss. Defense looked great and the offense kept them off the field. If it weren't for the prevent at the end, we would have won.

The play calling in the first half was horrible. How can you win running the ball every down?

And the defense - ugh. I hope this loss for our home opener brings about some serious change.
