Hot Start for the Blues

The Blues are off to a promising start to the new Hockey season, going 4-1-2 in their first seven games.   Included in that start are wins over Chicago, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, so it isn't as if they've been feasting on bottom-feeders.
Perhaps most promising is that the Note have gone 4-0 at home.   I think this is especially important given their abysmal record at home a year ago.  The Blues earned 90 points last year, but missed the playoffs in the tough Western Conference, primarily due to an 18-18-5 record at home.   If the Blues had only…

Amid much speculation about Andy Murray's job security this week, the Blues have played at home as though they have no interest in saving their coach's job.  Following up a horrible 4-0 home loss to Colorado earlier in the week, the Blues sunk to a new low last night at home against Edmonton.   The Note played two dominant periods in building a 3-0 lead before Edmonton tallied one in the last 20 seconds of the second period.   The Oilers then proceeded to out-work, out-maneuver and out-play the Blues in third, tallying four goals to walk out with a 5-3…

The Blues continued  their unlikely quest for a playoff spot, knocking off Calgary 3-2 Friday night with a 2 goal 3rd period comeback.   The Note now sits just 2 points out of the final playoff spot, with ten games to play.   There are 6 teams with between 74 and 79 points.....all vying for the last 2 playoff spots, so it is a tough road ahead.    The Blues have a critical three game homestand this week, with games against LA, Vancouver and Columbus.   The Blues will close out with 6 of 7 on the road, so these next three are mission critical.

go talk to your GM, Savard and Sturm are ready in 10 days......you can have Ryder and we will throw in Hunwick to a puck moving defenseman, Ryder can score if with the right guys, specially on the PP he has a great quick shot, thats all the B's would want is draft picks, maybe a 2nd next year and a 2nd the year after
