This has to be one of the best weeks in the past two years for Mets fans. First a deal goes down that lands closer Francisco Rodriguez in Flushing Meadows. Right after that, set-up man J.J. Putz is dealt for Joe Smtih, among other players, to the Mets. What a wild week in the Big Apple. The winter meetings brought in a few fresh faces to New York, most notably CC Sabathia to the New York Yankees. In Game 1 of this series, the Mets held off the Padres after a 9th inning rally by San Diego. In that game, the scoring started when Kevin Kouzmanoff homered to deep left center in the 4th to put the Pads up 1-0. Fernando Tatis coutnered with his own homer in the bottom of the 4th, to tie the game at 1. The Padres got the run back in the 6th, when Adrian Gonzalez hit a solo homer. Than, in the 7th, Tatis hit another blast, this time a 3-run homer, and the Mets went up 4-2.
