Roberto Clemente has always been one of my favorites and he is a true hero. People often have athletes as their heros which I dont really get. They are playing a game. Your heros should be war veterans or people who volunteer for charity events or God, but I do think that a couple of athletes deserved to be viewed as a hero and Roberto is undoubtably number one. Roberto played RF for my favorite team of all time, the Pirates. Clemente was truly a great man, who, as many of you know, was in a tragic plane accident that prematurely took his life. Not old enough to remember seeing him play but from the highlights I've seen - WOW! What an arm. And a great humantarian on top of all that.

He was the best player ever in my opinion.I got to see him play in Pittsburgh a couple of times but I was only 7-8 years old.....but I still remember.
