Phenominal Final Day in the Premier

England were in a controlled frenzy on Sunday, dubbed by the English media as D-Day because of it's immense importance to teams all across the table.

In all, a Premier League Champion, a Uefa Cup spot and two relegation spots were decided on the very last day of play. Fans anticipated suspense, but the few expected to see so much excitement, brillance, agony and surprise all wrapped into one afternoon.

Fulham Escape Relegation

Even with five other teams close to relagation, Fulham's hopes to retain their spot in the Premier looked hopeless. Most experts had already labeled their season as a failure and began speculating as to where Team America's top players would be heading next season, most notably Brian McBride, who was thought by some to be ready for a trip back to the MLS. This win may keep McBride in England for a while longer.

Bernabeu Bombs Barca; Fantastico No More

I never thought I'd say this. but to tell you the truth I'm getting a bit tired of the parade of "It-sucks-to-be-Barca" stories floating around the media lately.

It was fun. Now it's just getting redundant with the continuous speculations of where Henry, 'Dinho, Xavi, Zambrotta, Frank Rijkaard, Gio dos Santos, Messi and the gang will wind up next season. It was laughable. Now it's depressing.

However, I have to make an exception here. Barcelona hit an all-time low today as they fell 4-1 (!!!!!) to rivals and La Liga Champs Real Madrid in the El Clasico (the Classic?) derby.

Flamini signs with AC Milan, Hleb strongly linked to Inter

Mathieu Flamini is said to have inked a deal with AC Milan yesterday to strengthen a midfield that will more than likely saying goodbye to Rino Gattuso, says The Times. Flamini is said to be leaving because AC is reportedly paying him a wage of 50,000 pounds a week.

In other news of the Gunners and Milan, Alexander Hleb has reportedly told teammates and other sources that he is close to signing a four-year deal with probable Scudetto champions Inter Milan, say The Times and The Independent. I remember defending Hleb earlier for his pure technical skill, but after seeing his total production levels of his three years at the club I want him out the door ASAP. 11 goals in three years...shocking for a player of his caliber. Arsenal can pick up a player for half his price and get at least twice that production.

spurs in for villa? how funny, almost as good as eto'o going there.

They need to get in the Champions League before they can sign these stars

stauff, whats this about spurs and Villa? I was pretty sure he was a done deal w/ arsenal for 21 million pounds
Just consider yourselves lucky that Scotland got knocked out early. Italy and France both needed to tag team the Tartans just to keep them out the competition! They'd be my sleeper team if they were still in it.

You really never know with Euro, though. I mean, who expected Greece to win in 04? Basically all the teams that aren't expected to win are the sleepers
Portugal would be my choice as "sleeper" or "dark horse" for EURO 2008... I wouldn't be surprised if they reached the final, though winning it would be a big ask.
